This may be an eye opener for some of their fans. Playing schools more their size. Uh, isn’t that what the numbers are for? The numbers have always shown Ontario to be larger than most of their fan's eyes. History in football shows they could go 7-3 or 8-2 and not make playoffs because of their schedule. Some Ontario fans see themselves as this tiny rural district and other local schools as these massive sized opponents. Harding 433 Ontario 278 Shelby 247 River Valley 246 Galion 211 Clear Fork 207 Highland 199 Pleasant 170

The REAL eye opener is parents open enrolling their children and moving to Ontario for better educational opportunities. Thus, Ontario growing and others shrinking. This has been happening for 65 years xnce the GM plant opened
What is truthfully shown is that since the playoffs started, with the schedules played, Ontario has rarely had a 7-3 or 8-2 record

All 3 building principals were hired 3 years ago. Superintendent five years ago. Also have had 3 athletic directors in five years. Yep. Actually 4 Athletic Directors in 8 years…hard for the sports programs to have any positive momentum when you are constantly starting from scratch repeatedly. Says something about the HS principal, Superintendent and Board roles there, doesn’t it? Teachers and coaches are tired of the way the school has been run, and are getting out.

I think if anyone knows anyone who used to teach or coach there then they know the reasons why those people left. The current administration is a real big problem. From my view they lost way too many good people the last few years and the replacements of those people are well, simply not nearly as good. I think it is why we see people from kids to teachers and coaches leaving. Sad. They won’t get out of it anytime soon.

Ontario would shrink like everyone else if they ended open enrollment. They add more every year to keep the money flowing.

Ontario would shrink like everyone else if they ended open enrollment. They add more every year to keep the money flowing. Only a handful of Ohio schools do not accept open enrollment so every school benefits financially from this action. If you look at the CB numbers for football for Richland County public schools you can see that a number of kids not living inside the district limits are at every school. Ontario would shrink like everyone else if they ended open enrollment. They add more every year to keep the money flowing. Fact check is needed since I do not know when Ontario began it's open enrollment business. From maybe 2002 until about 2009, Ontario was at it's largest size. Then the GM plant closed. During that time their enrollment was larger than it is now even with open enrollment business being good.

Generally an OE student only brings in half of what you spend per student.

The enrollment says they are a larger school then most in the area but some fans still think they should be playing crestline every night.

If information is entered correctly, the CB factors in athletes that do not live inside a designated district's boundary limit.

Ontario's "open enrollment busines" started when the retiring Superintendent came to Ontario after being the Massillon Super. She was shocked Ontario did not participate in Ohio's Open Enrollment Program, which now brings in 2.3 million annually. That's needed as the state still takes money away from. Ontario as it is still considered an "afluent district", even though the GM plant has closed

Mt.V, Harding and New Philly. 2 years ago they were smaller than Shelby and RV. When they joined thei NOL they were smaller than every school other than Willard. It wasn't all that !ong ago that Gallon was larger, even CF was bigger tor a few years. . Not Ontario's fault that people want to move there and people want to leave other districts.that are shrinking It is very rare that a school leaves an established league due to their growth. Ontario will wait to get kicked out of another league, that at one time wanted them. There has always been a league that wanted Ontario, they have never had to start their own league

ALSO, no data is kept on whether the athletes in the CB formula are All League players, big contributors. Or just standing on the sideline.

Ontario would shrink like everyone else if they ended open enrollment. They add more every year to keep the money flowing. This is silly. A district can not add a lot of students through OE if there were not many that wanted to come. There are many that don't get into Ontario every year. Ontario has one day set aside to app!y. They line up outside BOE office before it opens. Once the agreed on number is met, the door is. closed and the rest are turned away.. What is not known is how many families will move Into the district after that day. The students of those families MUST be taken

The Competitive Balance formula factors in every athlete. At a public school the number increases if the athlete does not live in the district. Even if they have attended school since Pre-K but do not live in the district they get a CB number.

Does the student and at least one parent currently RESIDE in your school district? If yes add 0. If no, has the student continuously ATTENDED your district since the 7th grade? If yes add 1. If no add 2.

Even if they have attended school since Pre-K but do not live in the district they get a CB number. And I think it applies only to the previous season's varsity players. They use Tiers. If you live in the district you are a Tier 0 and there are 0 points added. If you do not live in the district but have attend the school since 7th grade or before you are a Tier 1 and they add 1 point for each player who is a Tier 1. If you do not live in the district and enrolled into the district after 7th grade you are a Tier 2 athlete and football used to be add 3 for every Tier 2 athlete on the roster.

It did and it was set at a low number the first years. It was something Hall never wanted to happen to Ontario. The out going super was afraid to lose a levy and just kept adding more OE. She finally had to ask for new money because this system of OE is flawed. I know all about the shortcomings of the states funding. It was disappointing we didn’t go after new money when the economy got better. Even mcs passed new money then.

Why couldn't Hall get a levy passed? OE was something "Hall never want to happen to Ontario". What was that? IT has "happened" to nearly every public school district in the state. How does it "happen"? School boards VOTE to participate in Ohio's Open Enrollment Program. No one makes them participate. What was THE reason OE was started in Ohio?
"Go after new money when the economy got better"?? The economy has gotten "better" continuously for 40 years, until the pandemic.

You seem incapable of answering pertinent queries? Geez WF people were hurting in 08. Nobody could get a levy then. Not everyone is born with the golden foot in their mouth like you. It’s just sad that upper class Ontario let it happen. Even you gave that sentiment back then.

How were people "hurting in 08"? You are SO wrong. What I have today did not come from a silver spoon or a golden foot. It came from being frugal, doing a lot of research and making wise educated financial decisions. Anyone could have done what I did. I've even made suggestions on here for others to follow.
How did "upper class Ontario" let what happen??
Did you know there are only 11 School Districts in Ohio that spend less per student than Ontario? I find that terribly embarrassing. As residents of Ontario we need to do MORE for the teachers and students in the district. I want to pay MORE school taxes.
Above are a couple questions for you to answer. Per usual you have still not answered the previous questions posed!
