With Orrville departing and a larger Mt Vernon program joining the OCC, it could cause an immediate shake up and could make for interesting games.
Any thoughts?

Any interest for the 8th spot in the OCC?
Will the Northern OCC be a better fit for Mt.V than the Southern OCC?

The OCC has 8 schools for the 2016-17 season.

Where did anyone say that wasn't the case? Which will give more time to find an 8th school. Any interest? When might it be?
How will Mt.V fit?

I would predict Wooster out front. Then Ashland, Lexington, Mansfield, Madison and Mt Vernon. Clear Fork should improve and West Holme probably bringing up the rear. Of course all this can change with any transfers or move ins.

Unless things change from summer Mansfield will not be winning the occ this year.

"Things" have changed from summer for Mansfield, for the worse.

Got to agree, Wooster only lost 3 Seniors, have all their size back and a bunch of athletes that really fit their coach's pressure defense and get out run concept. Is Ajian going to play this year, or is he planning to enroll early at KY for football?

I would not be surprised if Ajian ever plays a down at UK. Seen him play a few times this year and there doesn't seem to be any interest in playing.

So, there's a chance he could decommit and look for a better fit? Not even play football since he's disinterested? Maybe he plays basketball at the next level? Does he have "interest" enough in the classroom?

Does any OCC fan know if any of the football injuries will last into the basketball season for player who do both?

I don't think Ajian has interest this year because of how terrible there coach is. I talked to Ajian before the season started and he was very fired up. However I think he seen after the first game of the year that they really didn't have a chance to be that good. Ajian loves football but the last two years there coach has just been horrible. Also I don't know how true this is but I was told by another fan that they heard rickert say that there will be coaching changes after this year.

If you lack interest because you may not be very good I don't want you as a teammate.

And I would question that you truly love the sport.

The coaches ruined the talent they had last season . This season numbers were just way down because no one wants to play for masi

It's sad that kids will give up their only shot at a high school sport because they do not like a coach.
What are we teaching our kids today!!!

I understand but I've come to realize times change and with that so do peoples minds. That being said I hope rickert relieves masi of his coaching duties

I think they need a younger coach that can relate to the players better

Do you have any concept how a 55 year old coach can "relate" to his players?? The "relating" goes from the players to the coach. "Relationships" have to do with trust and seeing and knowing the coaching they receive will give them the best chance to reach their full potential. Being a "young" coach is a negative in the those important factors. THE best "relationships" I've seen between coaches and players AND winning, were not with "young" coaches. Masi's success or failure has NOTHING to do with his age.

I think they need a younger coach that can relate to the players better Then you would be wrong. Pick the most successful coach in the OCC and check his age. Being a good coach has a lot to do with being at the right place. some coaches can have succes anywhere they go while others need to find the right place. But yet, others never do find success regardless of their location. Age is not what makes the record.

Idk look with Bradley from Mansfield or justin Todd to fairly young coaches who have had great success. Both who I believe are in there 30's. or Conway from Madison he was in his 30's or Eric will who may be in his 30's or early 40's

On the other hand there was Smitty at Orrville, Collins at Lex and Senior, Haas at Willard, Sheldon at Wynford, Fry at St.Petes, Gray at Norwalk, Balogh at Ontario. That's just the Mansfield area. Need I say more?

If it did then the coaches you mention would become bad coaches in a few years.

You realize he was at mount Vernon one year and went 5-5 and now at wadsworth and if he wins this week he will go 5-5 in his first year . Todd will have wadsworth winning in no time

I did know that. And I would not be surprised to not see him at Wadsworth in another 2-3 years.
My point is age is not the issue in my opinion. But for you, finding a replacement may be. In today's all access world young coaches can research talent from many levels. I see them choosing schools for 2 reasons. 1. It's a good community and solid well paying district they want to raise a family in. OR 2. It's a stepping stone for them to move to the larger position they desire in the future.

Lexingtons non-conference schedule is upgraded somewhat IMHO. It includes at Ontario, Willard, and at Shelby. which have been on the schedule forever. Also at Norwalk, at Olentangy Liberty, Marion Pleasant, and at Ottawa Glandorf. They also play Northmor too open up the season at Lex.
