I enjoy a good debate. Your problem is you take things off in meaningless directions for silly reasons trying to throw your vocabulary around to everyone while reading everything in a literal format. Somethings are just being said by guys drinking a beverage talking sports. [not ron burgandy because he is sober and doing well ;-D]

So Madison turns off the lights for introductions and does the spotlight thing. Didn't that get banned by the OHSAA or was the rule revoked?

[not ron burgandy because he is sober and doing well ;-D] The methods you use in a "debate" when insulting and being untruthful are unethical tactics. One must argue their position with facts and truth. I'm not "throwing vocabulary", you are not knowledgeable when it comes to "debate" terms. Also not wise to "debate" if you're drinking alcohol.

To be clear this is not an academic debate site. This is a sports pub debate site. Get your facts straight before you reply with more insults calling others unkowledgable. I can understand you have the need to make yourself feel superior to everyone on here, but please accept that fact that nobody on here feels inferior to you.
Merry Christmas.

In YOUR statement about "debates", when you were challenged for carrying on infinitum, there was no mention of them being "pub debates". My facts are straighter than yours. I speak as spoken to. I have no need to feel superior, one of your typical insults. Another lie or massive exaggeration by you, when you say "everyone"? Do you know its definition?? No one cares about YOUR "superior" or "inferior". Something to do with your complex. Have a great New Year.

Wooster pounds Lex on the road, and then a fight breaks out in the stands after the game. Pretty much how I thought things would go.
Also Mansfield loses again, this time at Ashland. It's sad that when they win a game it will actually be a surprise.

Two fights were averted at the Lex/Ontario game. One by the police another by Ontario's principal.

It's sad that when they win a game it will actually be a surprise. Wooster had a really good third quarter to seperate themselves. As predicted from day one, they are the best team in the OCC. the stands after the game was not a good place to be. Hate to see this but Wooster had at least 2 players in the stands almost to the balcony being held back by others. What kind of punishment will that bring since the game was over.

If you weren't at the game ask what the Lex student section tried to do TWICE, in the last half of the 4th quarter.

Agree, the MNJ had a completely erroneous report when they said all coaches and players were in the locker rooms when the fight broke out. WMFD had a short video and I definatly saw Wooster's Calvin Blair in the stands. He's been known to be a bad actor. There could have been others. There have been similar incidents at other games. IMO most could be eliminated if schools had fans from one school sit on one side of the gym and fans of the other school sit on the other side of the gym. When fans from the home team sit in the middle section of both sides of the gym and visitor fans sit on the end or ends of the middle sections, it's more likely to lead to problems since only an aisle separate fans from both schools. Nothing can stop stupid stuff from happening in the commons area of schools when fans from both schools intermingle after a game, on the way out. But there won't be any players in that area. Of course it takes bad or out of control fans for things like this to happen. Wooster fans and players shouldn't have had anything to be upset about, they'd just won by 21.....unless.....

They took a sign to the Ontario student section. There was no attempt of a fight. One of the event sponsors promoted "game day " signs in the student sections. The kids in these two sections are friends, come very close, some even dating. There at no time was any concern of a fight.

At this time I have heard that as many as 5 players were in the stands from Wooster. 3 are starters.

The kids in these two sections are friends, come very close, some even dating. There at no time was any concern of a fight. Another untruthful statement or gross exaggeration. I NEVER said there was an "attempt to fight", I said a fight was averted. A correct statement would be, the Lex students TRIED to take a large "sign" to the Ontario student section TWICE. First a half dozen Lex students went through the commons area with their large "sign" then in front of the Ontario stands toward the Ontario student section, but were stopped by police. Then two students tried an end around move, by going under the Ontario basket at the other end of the gym to get to the Ontario student section with their large "sign", but were grabbed by the scruff of the neck by an Ontario administrator and taken back to the Lexington side of the gym. This "sign" WAS NOT a "game day sign". I'm quite sure due to this "sign" and the actions by Lex students, there will not be a "game day sign" contest next year. If there was no concern that the actions of these Lex students might cause a problem, then why did the police stop one attempt to get to the Ontario student section with their "sign" and an Ontario administrator stopped their second attempt to get to the Ontario student section with their "sign"? How often have you seen a group of students from one student section attempt to take something detrimental to the other student section in the last couple minutes of a game? Just so we're 100% clear, why don't YOU tell us what the Lex student's large NON game day "sign" said.

Here's your sign.
The sign was made as part of the games day sign promotion. It was being delivered because Lexington won and the kids from lex knew most of the kids cheering for Ontario and are friends. There wa no fight averted because there was not going to be any fight.

A question only they can answer. if you get the chance to ask them, also find out why there was a fight between Wooster and Wets Holmes this year when they beat them by 37. OR with Madison last season when they won by 15-20. May want check your score facts.

It was being delivered because Lexington won and the kids from lex knew most of the kids cheering for Ontario and are friends. There wa no fight averted because there was not going to be any fight. THE sign in question WAS NOT made as part of the games[sic] day sign promotion. If it had, it would've been destroyed when it was seen by those doing the judging. It is quite obvious that you have NO IDEA what THE sign said. The police saw what it said and Ontario's administrator saw what it said and they both felt it could have led to a bad situation. The police and the administrator know WAY WAY more than you about such things. AGAIN I ask, how many times have you seen guys from one student section be allowed to take ANYTHING to another student section in the last 2 minutes of a game? Do your home work and find out what THE sign said and report back. Not even you would be in favor of what it said. Because of the Lex student section, I'm quite sure there will no longer be a "game day sign" contest next year. I'm sure the organizers thought it was an innocent feature of the NOL/OCC Challenge, little did they know.

My bad, the number 21 was stuck in my temporal lobe, as that was the number Ontario was beaten by Wooster AT Wooster. Lex INDEED was beaten AT Lex by 22, one point more. Ontario's fans and players must all be good people. No problems last year when Ontario beat Wooster by 18 OR this year when Wooster won by 21.

You know when my youngest son went to Norwalk Sr. we were told that the NOL has a policy that there are no signs or noise makers to be brought to the games because of the potential of there being fights. We where told because of the bitter rivalry between Willard and Shelby and one night it really got out of hand and fights between the fans in the stands and round up on the floor. I don't know if this was true or not but this is what I was told because with my oldest son playing for St. Paul's we had cow bells going off always. If this is true will someone let me know so if it's not I'm going to drag out all my bells.

I did see the sign and it was taken by the principal and given to the other school's AD. The police officer laughed and told them to get back to their area. Nothing more. The same kids met in the commons area after the game and joked about the sign and the adults.
In basketball, never, but that does not mean a fight was going to break out.
You may have been fed a little fib. The sign was returned to the Lex admins and was present when kids were called into the office to be talked to on the Monday after the game.
The sign idea is being canceled because only 3 of the 12 schools took part in it. It did not spark the spirit it was designed to.
