This was a hot topic in another thread so let’s just keep Huron related talk in here until next August.
Who are some of Hurons top returning players? What games will be winnable and not so winnable next season? Will Huron enrollment continue to decrease and make it into Div. 6? Is Huron becoming known as a summer/retirement town?
I do agree with the poster who said Huron used to be in the really good category and now are in the good category.

one thing you can be rest assured of is huron will send proper game films to opponents when exchanges are made.

Huron just seems to me to have lost some of the "Tiger Pride" of 15-20 years ago. I remember the days when Huron was feared when they showed up on your schedule. I remember the Bogart Road Bowl games with Margaretta. The best high school football I ever saw was Huron/Kenton with Dence vs. Mauk. Man, what a game! I apologize if it seemed like I was picking on Huron in another thread, I guess I'm just missing the glory days of Huron Tiger football. Hopefully they'll return. I'm a long time Pirate fan, but I very much respect and follow ALL the SBC teams in all sports, and attend their playoff games, and support them after the Pirates season is over. Football, basketball, volleyball.......to be honest though, I don't follow the soccer teams, even the Pirates, just never cared for that game. Boring as watching grass grow. But, back to the Tigers. Is their enrollment dropping that much? Anyway, I wish them well, hope they return to their former glory, and can't wait to see them (Hohler) on the BB court.
Now, I'm gonna go dig all my winter gear out so I can go watch the Toledo CC/Avon playoff game that Perkins is hosting tonight! After watching them last week, I have to say Toledo CC is impressive.

But, back to the Tigers. Is their enrollment dropping that much? They are at 154 which is the cut off from D-5 / D-6 when they do it again they will be D-6 had they been D-6 this season there is a legit chance they'd still be playing. The town itself has become a bed in breakfast , summer rental town. many that live here are not invested in the schools or kids. just a summer cottage .. they're going to be closing down one of the schools because enrollment has decreased so much. So for those of us who remain year around we are there to support. I miss that bogart road bowl too, but even though our enrollments are only 20 apart they don't wish to play.. nor does any of the river division. I'll respect their reasoning and move on. and to Don's post about next year 4-6 5-5.. we return quite a bit losing hohler will hurt. but the JV QB was really good..

I thought they were trying to get a ban on the bed and breakfast in Huron? Are people leaving because of that? By the way, I happen to be a friend of that JV quarterback's parents. LOL

LOL heck no they won't ban that, it brings in $$ .. they have limitations on it.. these houses are being bought up for rentals. people leave for a variety of reasons, but the overall population is at 6,900 which includes these cottages/rentals where people leave during the winter .. Huron's home side holds roughly 3000 so in order to have it filled you're near 50% of the cities population just to fill the home side. good luck with that! yea jv QB is going to be a stud.. just a sophomore 6'4 good arm decent speed.. and with harkelroad bowen delaney scroggins hartley coming back thats a good crew to build around..

Either way you lose to Liberty Benton or to Perkins. Doesn’t make sense to me travel an hour to lose where you can go down the street & do the same.

That’s our business.. tell the corn flacks who run the league to stop pampering to some and forcing others to do what they want. It’s bullshit and they know it

If they want it right and they want to play enrollment game the. Do it right. Count total football schools divide by three and start with the highest and seperate evenly. One mi Ute they say we suck and play a cream puff schedule the next minute you got D3 wanting to schedule D5 But won’t touch anyone with a pulse in D2. So tell them to go **** themselves.

What’s going to happen when Huron, Edison and Margaretta are all Div. 6. You think any of them will want to still play against Div. 3 schools? IMO, I doubt it. When if PC also keeps getting smaller and is a small Div. 5 school, I would think they also would not want to play against Div. 3. At some point something has to give between the bigger schools and the schools who are shrinking.

Yet 150 enrollment Edison and huron are expected to play 300 enrollment Tiffin mean while 199 Willard and 132 Margaretta get a pass. We played. d7 team that’s headed to the state final four and some bozo said we should’ve beat them. Why? Oh because were bigger ? Interesting how this works. Let’s ask this why isnt Margaretta and bellevue I. The same division for girls basketball ? Why isnt huron and Tiffin Calvert I. The same division for volleyball? Are we about enrollment dividing or competitive dividing ? This league is a mess because it’s so afraid of someone leaving. That it pisses off 21 teams to make one happy.

Tiffin needs to be booted from the league. Geographically doesn’t make sense. & tiffin/Huron have no business playing each other.

Here you go.... ENROLLMENT
Sandusky 346 Norwalk 341 Tiffin 334 Clyde 268 Bellevue 235 Perkins 233

The enrollment used for the 2023 Lake/Bay lineup was a combination of 2016 and 2018
(there was no count done in 2020 due to covid and the 2023 lineup was finalized before the 2022 numbers came in)
