I don’t know the dates of the years they got in, but at one point making the playoffs really meant something. Just making it in was an accomplishment. My high school had a stretch from ‘72-‘79 where they lost 5 games and made the playoffs zero times. Three of those losses were in one year. So in eight years they were undefeated five times, had one loss two time, and went 6-3 once and never made the playoffs. Starting with the increase in divisions and now the additional round of games you have a valid point. IMO if you make the playoffs now and don’t go at least .500 that year you didn’t deserve to make the playoffs. But you are old and that was back when only 4 schools per region made the playoffs. Thanks. I appreciate you pointing that out 😂.

I can probably piece together most years. 88, 89, 94,95,96,97,98, 02,05,06, 10, 17, 18, 20,21,22. So I think I'm missing one year between 2010-17. You forgot 2009

As the head coach in waiting or an assistant? I don't know if his coaching philosophy works at Harding.

As head coach. I don’t really see it as good fit and didn’t know if Harding HC position is open. Had a couple people tell me this, just looking to see if anyone else heard anything.

Of Late, head coaches at Harding have not lasted long. That's why I said "head coach in waiting"

Marion Harding's coach quit the week of the first game. Marion had an interim coach this season.

With winter lifting being a part of any solid football program, how soon will CF look to make a decision?

I have heard they plan on closing the application window tomorrow and then begin the interview process next week with the hope to have it completed by the time school resumes after the holidays.

That is fairly soon so they must have some good applicants. That would give them roughly 2-3 weeks..... I figure they will probably interview 6-8 candidates, depending on the pool of applicants... That could take 2-4 days depending on committee members. Then narrow that down to the final 2-3 candidates which would take another 1-2 days. That is how I would envision the process going, doesn't mean my vision is correct. But I do not believe it has to be a lengthy, drawn out process.

I would anticipate a special board meeting if the decision is made sooner so the new coach can begin workouts as soon as possible.

A special meeting to get this done sooner would probably be the way they would go.

Anyone hearing any names that may have thrown their hat in the ring? Heard the Lucas coach may have kicked the tires on this job. I have not verified it but it wouldn't surprise me. I'd think stupka will apply as he was on staff and has HC experience. It'll likely come down to a candidate they can get in the district I would think Is the Lucas coach a teacher?

anything new here? Surprised that the MNJ didn't write an article on the applicants to be honest. Especially after the way Carroll was let go

I agree, I think anyone with half a brain could figure out he broke the story to the MNJ Dude. MNJ would not write an article about applicants as that jeopardizes those individuals and their current positions. I have heard through the rumor mill that several local coaches that are currently coaching at their respective schools may have applied and/or interviewed. If that information was made public it could be damaging to those individuals and more importantly, the student athletes they work with.

Plenty of local newspapers have written articles about who applied and even listed the applicants for jobs before. Freedom of information act is all you need to get it.
And public Ed isn't the private sector, not nearly as jeopardizing to apply at other places and letting your current employer know

Further, the gentleman I know who applied did so with blessings from their employers. Imo, probably best media didn't get involved.
