Bellevue starters played entire game, as did Perkins. You don’t want the score getting out of hand, then get some stops. As stated, Nasonti has done his fair share of running it up. This time, his team was the nail that got hammered. Cry more Perkis 🙄

Amen 🙏🏾 You're a senior on your high school football team. You have a very limited number of games left in your high school career. Then you lose one of those games by cancellation. Plus you lose a week of real time game action. You WANT to play as many minutes as you can, because this is it. No next year. So, your coach knows this and lets you play as much as possible. I see nothing wrong with that. If the other team can't stop you, that's their problem. This isn't a game where everybody gets a participation ribbon.

I am so damn glad when its 42-0 with 4 minutes and change to go that Perkins still have their 1st team offense on the field. Lord knows with a running clock Bellevue would score 43 in those 4 minutes and win. Santoro is such an *** It was because the seniors on the team already missed one game this season. And he wanted to give them all the playing time they could get because they're seniors. This is their last chance to play high school football. in the meantime, you sir, are an idiot. I don’t think there is any justification to have all your starters in with 4 minutes to go and a running clock if it’s true.

Again: Bellevue kept their starters in, and continued to try to score. Therefore, since the “white flag” wasn’t raised, Perkins went for the shut out. All fair game. That’s why the kids are soft these days. Adults whining and wanting mercy shown. Do something about it and put in the work to improve. Period. As stated in a previous post, the Perkins starters are tired of sitting half the game every week. They shouldn’t be punished for their own success. Furthermore, how will they be ready for playoffs playing half a game a week? Not to mention a cancellation on top of that.

Hmmm, where were you last week when Bellevue's starters were in vs Norwalk with 4 minutes left up 26-0? It was because the seniors on the team already missed one game this season. And he wanted to give them all the playing time they could get because they're seniors. This is their last chance to play high school football. in the meantime, you sir, are an idiot. who the **** cares moron! who does that Poop? who? he did it to rub nasonti's nose in it. Â

Every head coach has differnt philosophy on how to manage large leads, running clocks. To me, all can be justifiable in what they do. Tiffin did not attempt a pass the entire 4th quarter or most of the third last Friday. They bled the clock and was happy mainting a three score lead. I have no issues with Perkins leaving their guys in for the reasons mentioned above. Every team does have seniors that are backups and I hope the coaching staff were able to sub these guys in. They have put in the time too and do not get to play on Saturday. Maybe all of Perkins seniors are starters or get to play a good amount, I don't know. Congrats Perkins on a decisive win.

The only problem I have with Starters still in up 42-0 in the 4th quarter is them getting hurt, Then either coach would look really stupid. JV's should have been in all of the 4th quarter for Both teams

He got injured while carrying the ball with about 5 minutes left in the Norwalk game, when we were up 26-0 and had already lost LaPata on the opening kickoff.

Yes, JV’s play on Saturday, but getting them some quality minutes on Friday night helps keep a program strong.
There are probably lots of reasons why Perkins’ head coach left his starters in and some have been mentioned. You’re naive if you don’t believe it is also to send a message. Whether there is bad blood or an attempt to make a statement about who should be the head coach at Bellevue a statement was being made.

I will agree the injury risk is there. However, it’s there every rep of every game and practice. Unless you’re insinuating the opposition could take liberties as retaliation, which I doubt, injuries happen in football. If you’re not prepared by not getting enough reps then you’re not going to be successful in the playoffs regardless IMO
