Major changes coming to this league and there is a feeling that the changes are not over yet.

I was wondering the same thing. I know Shelby was discussed and even Upper was being thrown out there about being 9th and 10th members but those talks have all died down.

Not in the near future. Not until there is more dissatisfaction and someone looks elsewhere or someone is booted.

Heavy changes over the next 2 seasons. After that, who knows but there is already talk.

Fairbanks leaves the Red division after this year. Not sure who has the inside track on taking their place. That and the Blue division, Morrow and Knox county teams, leaves to start their own league.

My understanding is the Blue division is gone next season. Fairbanks is leaving the MOAC and there is another I believe. Is it Alder?

Heard they are bringing in Clear Fork and Ontario to replace 2 Red Division schools.

That is correct. Fairbanks is actually only playing a MOAC football schedule this year. The red division will only have 7 teams for all other sports. After this school year the divisions go away, as all blue division schools leave along with Jonathan Alder. Clear Fork and Ontario join the rest of the MOAC bringing us up to 8.

The MOAC was one of the best basketball leagues in the state in D3 the first 15 years. The last 10 the level of play has dropped off significantly. the lack of tournament success during those 10 years compared to the first 15 is baffling. Ontario coming into the league may change the leagues fortunes in hoops?

Obviously Pleasant had a nice run last year but for the most part you're right. Not a lot of success in the tournament. Ontario is a very good basketball school but even they haven't had a lot of success in the tournament the last couple years.

Even though Ontario has won an NOL title all 3 years in the league. Their tournament successes have diminished when they went from being one of the largest DIII schools to one of the smallest DII schools.

It is very understandable to project the decline of the Ontario program in the next few years. That's not a prediction but more of a possible result.

^^^ Maybe in tournament play but I do not see much of a decline coming in conference play. When they go to the MOAC they will be one of the top 3 teams in the conference for the foreseeable future. They will replace Jonathan Alder as the top basketball team and I am not sure which schools will be up there with them. Maybe Buckeye Valley and Harding.... I can't wait for basketball season. Even though Galion will be bad, I still enjoy basketball season.

Except, I've been told Mansfield Senior's best Freshman, a 6-4 forward good handle good outside shot, has moved to Ontario. He could start on varsity this year. Which would make him only the 2nd Freshman to start for Joe's in 32 years.

My point was the changing of the guard in control of the program. Which may be coming soon.

I have no inside information on this at all. Only that I know it has been discussed that the date is approaching.

Joe still loves to coach, but believes the head coach should be in school all day. He wants to do what Steve Gray has done, retire and continue coach. He will do that as long as Ontario has a position for him that will keep him in the high school all day.

So you lose the continued contract status and can be non-renewed at any time.

I was told by a basketball coach of some note that they were glad he left when he was kicked out of school. I guess the attitude changes when they are walking or walking in.

You are either misinformed or telling untruths again. No one was "kicked out of school". Regardless, here you go again. Putting down 13 year old kids on a public message board. The lowest form of slime. You should be ashamed. "walking or walking in"?? I'm pretty good at deciphering your insults, but that one has me confused
