Willard hosts Huron tonight in a rare Monday game. Was curious to see how many career points Max Dawson has, so I looked it up on the crawfordcountybasketball webpage. Tonight, Dawson should pass Nolan Robinson for 3rd all time leading scorer for Willard behind Langhurst and Dials. He has no chance to pass the other two, but what great company to be in. Really awesome to see for Max, quietly turning into one of the best players to come out of Willard. On a side note, I bet Langhurst and Dials’ records are never broken.

You are probably correct but ask your dad about a certain 7th grader that shows promise. Granted it is 7th grade.

He did update me on that player. Will be really fun to see how he does in his career. Got some good genes in him that’s for sure.

Never seen a Winslow team take the air out of the ball so it must have been a poor shooting night at the barn.

Upper is playing slower and Bellevue is very deliberate.
Upper has scored 35 points or less in 4 of their last 6 games.

It will be interesting to see how Old Fort responds this week after a rough week last week - a close loss to a good Margaretta team and then a puzzling home loss to NR. Genoa will be tough and then they get Calvert at home. They won't be able to apply as much pressure on Calvert as they did the last time on the small floor.

What has happened to Huron basketball? Was at the game tonight and I have never seen a Huron team get beat like that. Perkins played well, but the game was essentially over by the 2nd quarter. It doesn't appear that Huron has their normal level of talent, but you rarely, if ever saw a Bobby James coached team get blown out like that, especially against Perkins. Toby Miller is a young guy, so I am sure he will figure it out, but that should definitely serve as a wake up call to him.
Perkins is really coming together as a team. They have some really nice athletes. Mikey Young had a handful of really impressive dunks. Will be interesting to see if they can put together a postseason run. Coach is doing a great job so far with this group.

It has been a challenging year for the Tigers, who have dealt with some injuries and disciplinary repercussions to some of their star players. Notably, they have been without Senior 4 star standout Johnny Hamcheck, who was charged with Financial crimes in his alleged role in a Ponzi scheme. Johnny was coached by Toby Miller this summer in AAU and transferred in from Toledo Whitmer. Johnny's father runs Hamcheck Financial, and apparently Johnny was managing a few clients and got involved in some shady dealings (allegedly). Also, 6'10" star freshman center Steve Balboni has been dealing with a rotator cuff injury that has kept him sidelined for the entirety of the season. He sustained this injury during fall Perch season while fishing at D-Can. However, there may be hope on the horizon if the rumblings I am hearing from the Donut Shop are true, apparently both Hamcheck and Balboni could be returning for the postseason, which catapults the Tigers back in to frontrunners to bring home the Division 3 State Title.
Go Tigers
