Northern 10 thoughts? Season opens Fri. Nov. 25 for most teams. - Favorite to win is above in poll.
- Dark horse team(s) to watch for?
- POY contenders?
- Any impact newcomers?

From what I have heard is that Buckeye Central has only lost one player back from last year. I think that is a very good thing to have when you are in the hunt for a championship.

Upper beat Carey tonight 53-42. Carey focused on the Fogle girl with a box and one most of the game. Holding her scoreless most of the game. Upper pinched in tight a 2-3 zone on the Kinn girl from Carey. Carey outside shooters went cold in the second half. Upper rode the scoring of Megan Hensle all game.

Looks like the only real test for the Upper girls will be February 2 when Shelby comes to Upper.

Breaking news reported by the Advertiser Tribune (Tiffin Paper) Seneca East head coach Dave Stallings resigns. Does not sound like a good situation. Feel bad for all involved with this.

A 2 point loss to the best the NOL has to offer. What an embarrassment. Good Lord.

D2 Upper left the D4 league and lost at Home to D2 Shelby almost tournament time for Upper girls & boys... Clearly being 18-1, undefeated in the NOL, and the #1 district seed is the definition of a crappy team, especially by a whopping 2 points. Blowout. Completely embarassing.

Nobody used the word embarrassment, or any adjective just stated a fact...

Update: CPO filed against him. Link to AT article here: LINKI know in today's age of text, snapchat, twitter and whatever else, that coaches use texts to communicate with players. Heck my son's Coach sends 10-20 a week in group form to the team. But this is definitely a bigger deal than that is appears. And with the hudle app at least on the boys side of things there is no need to " look at film" at a coaches house. Not that that would ever be appropriate. This seems pretty bad. Bad for the coach, bad for the kid because at over 600 texts between them something was going on...

Upper Girls season ends @ 3-2 in the NOL (could have been 2-3 had Bellevue not been dinged up) losing 60-44 to Norwalk.

Upper Girls season ends @ 3-2 in the NOL (could have been 2-3 had Bellevue not been dinged up) losing 60-44 to Norwalk. Bright side update Upper goes 19-0 vs the rest of their N10 and D3/D4 foes... That's right all of the 19 other wins on their schedule none were against bigger schools and all were vs. schools smaller than them and in a lower division...

We may have the same D2 designation, but to say we had no wins against bigger schools is a little misleading because you know very well that we are a very small D2.

To begin with get back in the MOAC, and be a middle sized school, instead of being BY FAR the biggest school in the N-10. That would help with better competition.

You are not a small D2 181 starting point for D2 you are at 205

"Very small" D2 is what is misleading. I believe Upper's enrollment # is 205 and the D2 bottom is 181. Upper fans want everyone to think they are this really small D2 school on the verge of D3 when in fact that is not the case. They are in the bottom 1/3, but it's not like they are really close to the cut line.

Norwalk is at 298, which is 45% bigger than Upper. Are you telling me those schools are the same size? If so, then I expect to see some criticism of Norwalk for their schedule, too.

So when your playing your 16 league games against schools with enrollments all below 130 its ok (Upper is 57% bigger), but then you play a team with 298 and suddenly Upper is this really small school and it's unfair. My point was that Upper better get used to it because it's not like they are moving down to D3 anytime soon.
