Depends on where those wins were at. Although in Ontario's case they should have their transfer the next go round.

Is the irony going to be Ontario winning the league while receiving 0 votes to do so from all of us "experts"? Shelby and Ontario are probably now the favorites especially with Norwalk not playing as strong as expected and Bellevue hit with injuries - well, they do have one of them back.

With 2 league losses at this point in the season that's going to be a tough hill for Ontario to climb. That being said Ontario has the best guard play of any team we've face this season. The game was only as close as it was because Ontario stopped pressing after halftime and began making wholesale substitutions in the 2nd quarter. Although Willard, I didn't see any 6 foot tall post players either on the court or around the bench. Are you sure that you have reliable info on this?

Do they have everyone back yet or who's still out?

Bellevue is one very bad final 0.8 full-court shot defense from still being undefeated in the league. How are they not among the favorites? (Keeping in mind my "who's still injured" post above).

She came off the bench in her first game. Before she became eligible, when she stood up straight and didn't have her hair in braids she looked an inch taller than their 5-11 player. That's all any of us have to go by. I'm PO'd at the coach that there isn't a program. Also, she doesn't bother to send individual stats to the MNJ. Thus her players don't get the recognition they deserve. For the most part they're a team of guards, except for Smith and one other of the 12 girls, albeit most are between 5-9 and 5-11. As far as the press, that wasn't their normal 2-2-1, for the first time they used a 1-3-1. Both are based on getting around or pass over their athletic 5-9 to 5-11 soccer player/guards. They also played a lot of zone in the half court, which is not usual for them. To galion's point, Ontario scored 24 in the 1st quarter, the Tigers scored 17 in the 4th quarter

What if's.... if not for the near half court bank shot mentioned above. If not for Ontario's 1 point loss to Shelby...... What if's don't count. I'm sure Shelby is looking to win the league by a 2 game margin.

At best I see Shelby sharing the NOL. Bellevue is still not healthy! The Baptista girl is just starting to get back into basketball shape and when she came back they lost the Ish (spell?) girl. Going to be interesting to see what plays out. IMO

I'm sure Shelby is looking to win the league by a 2 game margin. I fully acknowledge a loss is a loss, but let's not count them all the same in how they happened. A last second shot in a half-court standard set play or making FTs down the stretch to hold on, is not the same as playing a full-court pass with 0.8 left out of a timeout horrifically wrong. Bellevue played it the exact opposite way they should have & it cost them. They deserved the loss for that. However, injuries or not, Bellevue should've won that game. I don't think Shelby goes undefeated through the NOL & I think we all agree it should be fun until the end.

Should of won?!?
Better statement is either team could have won. With just over 2 seconds left the game was tied. I'll buy that it should have gone into OT.
These were two very evenly matched teams in a game that could go either way. Someone had to lose. If you are going to make an argument that anyone "should have won" with all the lead changes Shelby had way more 2-3 possession leads while most of Bellevue's were one possession leads.
Agree that it will be tough for anyone to go undefeated in the NOL and agree it will be fun to watch.

Norwalk girls travel to Bellevue on Friday night. Great opportunity for the Truckers to avenge some of the disappointments the Lady Red have handed them the past two seasons. I'm sure they're ready to start balancing the "budget".

I was a bit surprised to see River Valley take care of Ontario by double digits. For as much as the MOAC red struggles in boys b ball the girls programs in this conference are no joke(Galion not withstanding).

River Valley has a strong girls program from the ground up. It's not about the talent you move in but the talent that's developed in house in some cases. They work with those classes staring as far back as 3rd grade.

River Valley over Ontario by 10. Ontario led by 15 at halftime, but gave up 45 points in the 2nd half!

That's a pretty tough beat on your home floor. Does Ontario have injuries or something? I was surprised that the Ontario Bellevue game wasn't closer as well, especially with Bellevue not being at full strength.

Not really a girls fan. Never go to away games, go to just a hand full of home games to see a friend. AND because I don't have to pay. If I see scores I report them win or lose, unless someone does it first.
