To show you who you play matters MUCH more than records (ie: Upper, any FC school, et...) D3 CF 6-16 pounded FC champion D3 NL (17-5)by 20 points 61-41 to win a sectional crown...

Another example from last night. 23-0 Upper 61, 9 loss Kenton(from the MUCH more difficult WBL) 60. Upper is odds on to lose their 2nd game in the tournament to 2 loss Wapokaneta from the WBL

You gave us bad reasoning. You have misled us all again. Vermilion didn't lose because they play in the SBC. THE reason they LOST is they died by the 3-pointer. Only making 5 out of 24. They went 0 for 19 on 3-pointers from the mid-point of the 1st quarter to the last 2 minutes of the game! No 3-pointers made for over a 3 quarter stretch!! During that time period Ontario went from 9 down to up by 12. A 21 point swing. The Vermilion coach made no adjustments. Usually teams that rely on 3-pointers don't do as well in the tournament as they do in the regular season. Throats tend to constrict in the post season. ALSO, Vermilion's coach wasn't wise enough to get out of his man defense and play a Zone. I even gave him the scouting report. Bottom line, coaching was the difference in the game.

Willard, I was hoping we could see an old fashion battle between Joe and Steve again but I guess that won't happen this year since Norwalk lost to Lexington last night. It would be nice to see Norwalk and Ontario keep playing each other during the regular season. I wish you guys the best of luck in the MOAC it was fun having you in the NOL.

I too hope Norwalk and Ontario keep their short history going by scheduling non-league games. I was told Joe wanted to get as many old NOL schools as possible for non-league games in the future. #1 that tells me Joe wants to keep coaching if they let him. If not I'm sure he'd let the new head coach make those decisions. #2 I'm positive both coaches want it to happen. Thanks for your well wishes. It's been a lot of fun for us real fans.

If you would have told me that Ontario's Jones would outscore Lexington's Stover something like 15-5 I would have thought Ontario would have won. Ontario post players pretty much shut down Lex's post players, but Lexington guards really outplayed Ontario's guards.

Wow, I stand happily corrected. Streaks played very well and I think they beat Lex and make it to Toledo.

2 good games at Mansfield. First one Lexington did a nice job of moving the ball around with a bunch of assists and 7 or 8 guys in the scoring. I think Ontario only had 4 guys score for them. Second game looked to be 2 opposites as Perkins had size and the Streaks had superior quickness. The quickness won out as Sandusky put 3 guys in double figures led by J. Williams.

Oh portend, tough way for SIX Seniors to cap their career, not just one... I thought you of all people would understand. Only seniors on 4 teams in the state cap their careers with a win. You should have given the 6 points I wanted, I had it handicapped pretty well.

Jayrese Williams is the real deal, but more impressed with Keith Williams on his ability to penetrate and shoot or find the open man. Lex will have to find someone to knock down the foul line jumper or Stover won't see the ball all night. Too much athleticism, I'll take Sandusky 58-49.

Saw both games, both had good atmospheres. Lexington and Ontario looked pretty evenly matched. Sandusky really stifled Perkins' big man with their 2-3 zone. Perkins seemed very hesitant to shoot the 3 ball despite having many good open looks.
From a student section perspective, the goof of the night goes to Ontario. Lexington was doing the "when you're winning and you know it clap your hands" cheer at the end of the game. One verse was "if you're losing and you know it clap your hands" and they all pointed to Ontario's student section where at least half of the kids over there actually clapped in response. I don't know how the Ontario student brain trust decided that openly going along with the winning team mocking you was a good move.

Shelby-
As I have previously discussed, Ontario fans are notoriously not the sharpest tools in the shed (look at Willard). The whole community knows how to dump.

How is an 8 year old capable of judging "fans". Ontario students have the highest test scores in a 6 county area. According to the State, the Ontario community was to "wealthy" to qualify for State money to build a new elementary school, new middle school and add on to the high school. You prove your lack of maturity and lack of knowledge once again.

To wealthy? Sate money? Elemetery school? Lot's of irony in that response WF, when you're bragging about high test scores. Dump>WF

Thought the quality of the games last night at Mansfield Senior was a good reflection on the quality of the season overall in D2 in this area. While both games were entertaining, IMO it was not necessarily great or even good high school basketball for this level and at this stage of the season. Many have said on this forum that they felt high school boys basketball, especially at the D2 level in this area, was "down" this year and I agree, just sayin.
