Yet another solid performance. When Thad took over after Jim O'brien it was the same. More effort, better fundamentals. Like somebody else said,,not an NBA player on that roster at present value----but collectively they are doing good things. Winning games that last years team would have lost. No egos just effort and being coach able.

If this team goes .500 or better in the Big-10 that's one hell of an accomplishment.

Because the Big is kinda down this year,,am guessing that is actually attainable. MSU will be a struggle,,but I feel like they will compete pretty well if the first two games are any indication of the rest of the season. Give me a team that plays hard and at least is seemingly getting the most out themselves and I can deal with the L's a lot easier. Last year was brutal from that standpoint.

I think they can go .500 in the Big 10 this year. Recruiting is must in the near future.

I do too but I didn't before the season. Big-10 is down a bit yeah but still. Playing hard in today's college environment will win you a lot of games.
Once they get rid of the 1-and-done things will get better I think for college basketball overall. Worst rule ever.

Opinions on Andre Wesson? Plays high energy sometimes. No offensive game. I think he’s on the team to reassure that kaleb would come to Osu.

I too would like to see a 3 year college commitment in college basketball, specifically the Div 1 schools.

ah i don't want any commitment at all i just think kids who want to go straight to the NBA should just be allowed to go straight to the NBA
making someone go to college is criminal haha

Yeah there should be no rule at all, kids in high school should be able to go straight to the NBA. Dumb rule.
As for 4’s question about Andre Wesson, he was someone Matta took just to have another body basically, IMO. He wasn’t very highly recruited and at the time Matta’s roster was short handed and just needed someone to commit, I’m not sure if that’s all completely true but that’s just what I think. He’s got decent size and decently athletic but isn’t going to torch the nets on offense but will play pretty good defense. He does get called for a lot of fouls it seems like. In the Michigan game he was only in for a few minutes in the first half and had 3 fouls.

Players right out of high school can play Professionally any place outside of the United States. It's what the NBA wants and they'd like to see it moved out to 2 years.

Signing Andre---guaranteed Kaleb. That's a guess to a degree of why and how it happened. We needed another player and Andre actually played really well his Senior year and won a State Championship for WS. He's middle of the road talent, but he's not a bust either. He's contributing in practice too I'm sure. I watch him on the bench,,he's supportive and doesn't pout about not getting a ton of PT.

I agree, if an NBA team is willing to take you right out of H.S then more power to that person, they can alway go back to college if it doesn't work out, however, they forfeit college basketball.

We may see Osu break top 25 again soon. Standing at 28 right now. Game with North Carolina isn’t far off. A win there could go a long way for this team as far as confidence goes.

I fully expect a loss to UNC but I do feel better about the chances of possibly beating them than I would with last year's team. I think we'll definitely be competitive but UNC just has too much talent/too many top players for us to hang for 40 minutes. Hope I'm wrong though.

I don’t see Osu winning either. But it’s a matter of time before they pull off an upset like that I think.

With Tate and Diop now being graduates does anything change? I know Tate is a senior but does Diop leave and finish playing somewhere else?

You mean like removing them from the team because they're too intelligent?
The only thing that's going to "change" is they will start taking classes toward a Masters degree that Ohio State will pay for until their eligibility has ended. In Tate's case until this school year has ended or he turns pro since he's a Senior. In Diop's case for 3 more semesters since he's a red shirt Junior, or until he turns pro.
The REAL "smart" college athletes on scholarship can get 6 years of school paid for and a Master's Degree finished. Be red shirted your Freshman year, then get a 6th year paid for, with a medical red shirt.

#5 North Carolina just lost to Wofford at home... I like buckeyes chances Saturday. But also think Nc will wanna blow off some steam from this loss. We shall see.

After listening to Williams comments after their loss last night it may be a long night for the Buckeyes

Yeah I don't think Wofford did Ohio State any favors last night. I'm afraid they're going to be even more focused on Saturday now.

A little trivia,,,when Cholt was the interim coach at Butler, he beat UNC. It was either his 1st win or 1st big win.

Pleasantly surprised with the 12-4 record. Light on talent but heavy on effort and smart play,,that I can live with while watching. KBD playing like a 1st rounder. Only a matter of time before the talented HS kids take notice with Coach Holt. Ohio has at least 3-4 top 50 kids who are uncommitted underclassmen that are Juniors/Sophs. Really need to get these type of players in our State to stay home.

Holtman has these kids playing at a very high level. I originally bought into the 'light on talent' perception, but the more I see this team perform, I'm being continuously surprised at their skill levels. There are no slackers on Holt's team, except perhaps Jackson at the moment. If they continue to play like last night on the road, they can play with anybody.

I'm guessing Scoonies son will be too. Also the kid from Gahanna who is in FL playing,,, might as well be an Ohio kid,,all his family is still in Gahanna. Gaffney for sure,,,and a kid in SE Ohio that 7' kid. I read Scout and Rivals
Another team note,,,the ball movement is outstanding compared to the past.

OSU up on #1 Sparty 41-29 at halftime. KBD playing great. and defense is harassing. Have not seen the Schott rocking like this since before 2012!

Something brewing down in C-Town with these Buckeyes! May not win the B1G but it is great to see some enthusism on the floor and for once in the stands. Today is really fun, win or lose! Go Bucks!

What i take from this game, KBD best scorer in big ten, jackson can be a solid PG when he plays smart. wesson can get a shot inside anytime he wants. just has to finish more. And Holtman is gonna do some things with this program. Osu may have a couple more losses this year that make you scratch your head, but i like the way this is heading. go bucks
