Do you know what the First Amendment is?? If this site banned all those older than "kids", it would make it unconstitutional. Based on this and several other posts you've made across this site regarding the First Amendment I'm beginning to wonder if YOU know what it is and what it actually applies to.

The First Amendment to the United States Constitution tells Congress what they CAN NOT do. One of the mentioned says, "Congress shall not make a law abridging the freedom of speech." THUS, there can not be a law disallowing a spectrum of the population based on sex, religion, race or AGE from free "speech" on a public forum. Dump says this site is for kids only, is that true? I've never run across a site on the internet that bars anyone older than "kids". One might not be interested in a site that targets "kids", but that doesn't disallow all from visiting, viewing or taking part if they choose. As long as speech isn't akin to yelling "FIRE" in a a crowed theater, when there is no fire.

I didn't mean it as only kids can use this site, clearly, as this site is over run with old men who have nothing better to do then gossip about high school kids. I meant it as, this site is to talk about high school sports (the kids) and not come on here and gossip about their wrongdoings and put them on blast. Grow up. I'll still kick your bum bum , so don't try me this season. GO TIGERS

When it comes to the First Amendment rights, the "public forum" term you're using referrers to this kind of thing: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forum_(legal)This message board is not a public forum. It is part of a privately owned website, which reserves the right to revoke the membership of any user at its discretion (which is part of that long terms of service we all have to agree to when creating an account) And as far as limiting use based on age, this website actually does do that, by not allowing anyone under the age of 13 to participate (although that rule could easily be bypassed by someone who enters a fake birthdate when signing up)

But none of this is covered in the First Amendment as you were originally implying. You're referring to stuff from various anti-discrimination laws that were made nearly 2 centuries later.

If Haraway was caught in possession of that he must pay the piper. He knows the school and team rules and I do know him and he is not a bad kid at all. He is a very smart kid who just happen to maybe make a mistake and if he did he will be the first one to say it. If he did do it he will take the punishment and he will learn from it.

With all this talk of drugs and activity by Dump I was moved to do some checking on the whereabouts of Jah Leh, I have found has totally changed his appearance, had some tattoos removed, changed his name and re-enrolled at Huron. He is in the best shape of his life and was recently spotted working out with Isaiah Thomas. I think this makes the Tigers the clear favorite in the league and clears the way for a state title run.

According to Athletic handbook, games can be reduced by community service.

According to Athletic handbook, games can be reduced by community service. So what you are saying is that a kid has had his discipline reduced because he did community service. As a teaching tool I hope the community service was something that will make a difference in this young mans decision making and not just picking up trash in the city park.

I think picking up trash in an orange vest would make me think twice about breaking the rules because I wouldn’t want to have to do that again. 😜😂

Let me get this straight. Wearing a hunting vest and picking up pop and water bottles would make you not want to smoke a joint with your friends? How about clean the Courthouse restrooms. How about working in the cafeteria at the jail? How about making the kid do something so bad that he never wants to be put in that spot again. I don't understand reducing the penalty for breaking the law with raking leaves on the city lawn. I must be older than I think.

Shelby football PLAYERS go to a party where there is beer and they sit 30% of regular season games. One player at Norwalk gets collared for drug possession and he sits 14% of regular season games. Shelby has a potential State Champion caliber team. Norwalk looking at an above average season. Embarrassing for Norwalk Administration.

If you think something meaningful like going to a jail or an AA meeting is going to hit home you don’t know teens too well. Embarrassing them by putting them in an orange vest downtown is going to work way better than expecting them to look at something on a deeper level. It’s the Twitter generation. 142 characters, baby.

It is apparent you do not know teens of today. Ask 100 high schools kids if they would rather clean the jail toilets or walk the park and pick up pop bottles. The parks will be crowded.

I spend a good portion of my day interacting with teens. Studies show you are more likely to keep them from smoking by telling them it will cause premature wrinkles than it will kill them my causing COPD and cancer. They’re more about image than substance. It doesn’t make them bad, it’s just a fact. If you want to impart change you have to understand motivation. They aren’t motivated by seeing the outcome of someone who made bad choices. They’re motivated by looking cool. Orange vest in the park aren’t cool. Nobody sees you when you go to a county jail. You ask them whether they prefer a punishment nobody else knew about or a punishment that is publicly visible they’ll pick the anonymous punishment every time.

I can agree. How cool do they look cleaning toilets? Vests in the park are a joke with their buddies laughing.
If you are in touch, ask 5 kids to clean every toilet in the courthouse or they could pick up pop bottles in the park with an orange vest on. I'll bet money the vests are in use rather than the toilet brushes. And you know it too.

Ok, let’s go with your idea. How are courthouse toilets more meaningful than trash? They would probably pick trash just because toilets are worse. How is cleaning toilets sending a message not to do drugs? Meaningful in my mind would be setting up, sitting in on, and cleaning up after an AA meeting. I guarantee they’d pick that over trash and in their mind the whole time say that would never be me. I’d never go that far which is what every addict says the first time.

It's meant to be punishment not meaningful.
