How about we have them clean toilets at the AA meetings or at the rec. center. Does that sound ok to both of you.

According to Athletic handbook, games can be reduced by community service. So what you are saying is that a kid has had his discipline reduced because he did community service. As a teaching tool I hope the community service was something that will make a difference in this young mans decision making and not just picking up trash in the city park. So is it supposed to “make a difference” or just be a punishment? It’s easier for me to debate someone who takes a side. We might actually be agreeing.

My side is that raking leaves and picking up pop bottles will not make a difference. In fact, I feel that "community service" is something that someone wants to do and should not be a part of punishment as I feel in the long term it send the wrong message.

So the only thing we disagree on is I think making it public is better and you think making it disgusting it better. Hair splitting at this point. I can move on and get back to bball.

I see cleaning public restrooms as public. Volunteers rake leaves, punishment should be given to a high school athlete caught with drugs. Moving on.

"Cummunity service" should be something like going to the land fill and picking aluminum cans out of the much. OR in Willard working with the migrant workers with no pay for a couple of weeks. Doing something one never wants to do again

How do they have Margaretta ahead of Huron? Based on coaches alone, the edge would have to be given to Huron. Huron also brings a lot back from a successful season a year ago, esp. Hurst. Didn't Margaretta lose a couple kids too? How do they lose two of their better players and still get voted ahead of Huron? I don't understand it. Better coaching, better players. Plain and simple.

BTW, I said NOTHING about the BOE. Your input is of no value until you first learn the difference between highly paid school employees and elected lowly paid citizens. I respect Shelby more, no "community service" parole plan for their football players.

Over at Huron, we don't by in to preseason rankings too much. Need I remind you that last year we were voted to finish last???
These coaches must be butthurt from taking years and years of beatdowns from the Tigers. We will see what the standings look like at the end of the year.
GO Tigers

Dump, I still think Vermilion will edge out Huron this year for the Bay Division title. Again, you have one of the premiere coaches in the area with Bobby James so that might be the difference if Huron can beat Vermilion out for the crown.
There's no way that Margaretta, with two of their better kids out and Keller, who struggles to win games everywhere he goes (regardless of how much talent he has any given year), should give either Vermilion or Huron any trouble this year. I just don't see it. They should be 3rd at the highest, maybe even 4th to Edison.

I'm with most of you in what are they smoking when they did the picking. There should be no way Margeretta be picked ahead of Huron. Statechamp said it right, Huron has better coaches, have better players and had a much better season last year. And right now I also don't know how or why they picked Sandusky to finish 1st. in the league. After all they lost their best player during the last game of the year for the football team. And they called them selves experts. And what happen to the river division who did they picked and the rest of the positions.

Shelby football PLAYERS go to a party where there is beer and they sit 30% of regular season games. One player at Norwalk gets collared for drug possession and he sits 14% of regular season games. Shelby has a potential State Champion caliber team. Norwalk looking at an above average season. Embarrassing for Norwalk Administration. It was there 2nd offence so they get a high % of suspention

reported by who? And the Shelby kids got their suspension reduced as well (and they did more than just attend a party that had beer). Maybe you should stick to Ontario sports, where you "might" know something.

So the 2 district may have very similar policies in reducing the game suspensions if positive action is taken.

They got the pfeil kids coming back and Montgomery will be tough as well. Their coach knows what he's doing and the system they run is fun to play in so I'm sure the kids will enjoy it and really get after it. Huron and Vermilion is a rivalry, and we all know that anything can happen during rivalry games. We'll just have to wait and see how it shakes out.

I agree Vermilion has some good players and is well coached. I think Huron has a more complete team and is much longer and more athletic, along with a legitimate 20 ppg guy in Hurst, which doesn’t come around every year. I think Huron is the superior team but we will see. They will be much better than Willard’s dumpy Ontario squad, similar to how I am much better than willard at duplicate bridge, and I have the accolades to prove it. Go Tigers

GO Tigers Well seeing them play your idea of athleticism and ball movement and mine must be far off. Hurst was the only player who looked like he knew basketball. The others especially ones off the bench could not get the ball out of their hands fast enough. Hopefully they get better and make you proud. I see them struggling with anyone who likes to press. Good luck to them 😎😎
