I'll fill in the rest of the title once the Western Conference series is decided. Hopefully it's the Thunder so the Cavs get home court.
This will be the Cavs 3rd NBA Finals appearance in 10 seasons.

Looks like Cavs will hit the road next week after OKC went all OKC with a 7 point lead and less than 5 minutes to play.

From WTAM this morning: Anderson Varejão is the first player in NBA history to have played for both NBA finals teams in the same season.

Cavs fans didn't get what they wanted. I think they are afraid of golden state.

Cool stat Lebron has played in 36 series in his career and is 28-8. How will series #37 conclude? Lebron has also never been bounced by the same team 2 years in a row. Lebron has gotten his revenge everytime so far.

Man, the conflict I feel as a Cavs fan heading into this. I'm elated -- this is the best chance Cleveland has had in 19 years to win a championship. So close.
At the same time, life has taught me it's going to go wrong, in a most unfortunate of ways, causing me to drink heavily and take a day off work.
It's so hard to reconcile.
I can't be alone here.

^^^ Yep we already know the outcome as Cleveland fans. Cavs up 3-0 and up 28-16 in game 4 and Lebron goes down with and injury and Cavs get beat in 7. The tease will be there, just wait for the injury.

Lebron has gotten his revenge everytime so far. I think this is the 8th time since 1970 there has been a rematch in the NBA Finals, and I can only recall 1 being winners in both. That would be the 97 and 98 Bulls against the Utah Jazz. At any rate, LBJ was extremely giddy when the Cavs won this past Friday, and that was at a time OKC was up 3-2 in their series heading to Game 6 at Chesapeake and perhaps an assumption OKC was going to be the opponent. How much has the demeanor changed? Hopefully, in LBJ's case, it enables him to be motivated. Especially when hearing the words during their lone matchup at the Q this season......"Hopefully, I can still smell the champagne in the locker-room."

Smart money is on GSW in 6 or 7, especially since it's Cleveland we're talking about here.
We'd have beaten OKC in maybe 5 games. Ah well.

I'm feeling the Cavs in this. Too much on the line for them to not win. They've tasted disappointment and have a lot to prove to everyone.
I am not a Browns fan - used to be - grew up as one - long story for another day. I get the Cleveland disappointment factor. As a Browns fan, my husband is too beaten to get too hopeful for the Cavs.
I think the "stars" will align and we'll be alright!

Matchups are difficult for Cavs in this series, especially against Curry-Thompson and Green. Would love to see Cavs pull it off, but GS will probably win in five or six at most. Was at Tribe game yesterday (mistake) and stopped by Cavs team shop -- no hats left, very little in the way of championship stuff. Also as a Cavs insider tried to get tickets to 2nd home game, was offered VIP Club seats at $850 each (before fees) and respectfully declined. I can eat and drink a lot for $800+ at home, much less the DWI tickee on the drive home!

the Cavs will lose in the most spectacularly awful way possible, a way that not even Scarlet Fever in his infinite sports gloom could glean
this is all there is to know
GO CAVS!

agree with the good DR. on that ..... scenario will be game 7, Cavs up one with time expiring and Andy V tips in a missed shot at the buzzer to give GS the championship and poke his finger into the eye of Cavs fans and the management that dealt him away......that will make everything else pale in comparison, including the drive, the fumble etc ad nauseum.....

The Cavs have to win this in 4 or 5 games or GS is taking the Championship. GS loves playing from behind in games and in series. Cleveland needs to jump on GS like they did last year and like OKC did this year. But finish the deal quick in 4 or 5 games. Once this gets to game 6 or 7 GS is the likely Champ.

If this has been asked before, I apologize. But why doesn't the NBA utilize neutral sites?
picabo said: "I'm feeling the Cavs in this. Too much on the line for them to not win. They've tasted disappointment and have a lot to prove to everyone." - there is something to this statement. I so badly want the Cavaliers to win and when you see their faces in interviews, they're done with defeat.

I think that if Cleveland can hold GS under 110 tonight and in every game that they have enough offense to win. It may be rose colored glasses but I think tonight is the Cavs chance to steal one in Cali - Cavs 116- GS 110.
No matter what, steal one of the first two, keep home court, then win it at home in game 6. But again I'm a Cavs fan, could be wishful thinking since this is Cleveland.

Key for the Cavs is rebounding. Guards have to stay home and rebound the long misses and tipped balls. Both teams will have offensive spurts but rebounds & turnovers should be the deciding factor.
Should be a pretty even series.

Ugh! Not the start I envisioned - nor do I recognize this team. Missing the bunny shots underneath . . . not rebounding - letting GS have their way. So frustrating to watch.

This is embarrassing! We're not even getting beat by their best players ~ like the announcers said, it is Golden State's supporting cast.
One big difference I see is that they are playing defense and rebounding. We're not.

Decent run in the 2nd half; we just can't start slow.
The Cavs were down three after a series of lead changes and then they had to take 6 minutes or so to review a touch foul on Green and GS quickly hit a 3 out of it, ending any Cavs momentum. Ugh.
Cavs will come out rocking in the next one.

Cavs making Livingston the Finals MVP. jR Smith only took 3 shots in 36 minutes. jR show up and The Cavs win. Score 15 and keep Livingston to 8. That's all it would have taken to win game 1.

Don't overreact. The Cavs were rusty last night, yet in the 2nd half they actually had the lead at one point. They turned the ball over about 400 times, they didn't have as tight of defensive rotations as they wanted, and it's obvious that they wanted certain people to hit shots who just happened to do that. They kept GS under 110, just didn't score enough and didn't rebound well. They only have to get 1 of the 2 games at GS and they come home with home court advantage.
I also felt like the Cavs ran a variety of sets and player combos at GS last night, almost like the early rounds of a boxing match where the combatants trade jabs to see how the other person reacts. And it seemed like even when the Cavs found something that worked they didn't keep going back to it all the time.
Overall it was 1 game in which we didn't play well, played pretty good D overall but turned the ball over too much and didn't play our overall game on offense and still were in the game in the second half. I'd say that all was pretty encouraging. Remember GS is a pretty darn good team and they didn't just play the 76ers every game all season to get that many wins.

Not big on NBA basketball, but this seems to be playing out according to script. The Cav's need to bounce back in game two or it's going to be a big hill to climb.

vottruckers is right. Nerves and pressure are both high on the Cavaliers. And they did lead in the second half for a bit.
They simply looked jarred. That'll end.

Cavs have to go 4-2 now vs a 73-win team.
