Don't try to go to the BV-Hayes game if you don't already have tickets. They will not be selling tickets at the door.

BV has no gamebreakers and very little speed. They will struggle this year.

BV sweeps NU with a 11-10 win in 10 innings. BV once again came back from a 5 run deficit.

BV scores 6 in the top of the 7th to beat NU 9-6. Barons trailed all game until then and were down 6-1 at one point. Nice comeback win. On an opinion note, high school coaches are way too obsessed with the bunt. I thought both teams took themselves out of potentially big innings early by giving up outs when the pitchers didn’t really have it.

Gates, My mistake. You are correct. BV is in the MOAC thru next year unfortunately.
Dude, I would say given the way the behavior just seems to be the norm and is accepted that it’s been going on a long time. It’s disgusting that the coaches tolerate (probably encourage) it but I also put a lot of it on the umpires too. With a point of emphasis on sportsmanship and what is specifically in the rule book, they should put a stop to it.

Moacmama, Glad your boys beat them. It was the same at our game. Even had an 8 year old Bat boy in the dugout taunting our pitchers. Like I said it was a disgraceful display and the umpires should’ve put a stop to it. I would be embarrassed if I was one of their parents but I gather that’s their culture. Glad BV is leaving so I never have to hear that crap again. I can tell you for certain that videos of their behavior have been sent to the OHSAA.

After the disgraceful display of sportsmanship I witnessed from Clear Fork tonight, I’m very glad Ontario beat them. Clear Fork has a really nice ball club. They have a long way to go in the class department.

BV beats Harding 5-4 on a walkoff single. Harding gave up a 4 run lead in the last 3 innings. Credit to BV for fighting back but Harding also killed themselves with errors that let the Barons have some life.

BV has one open date and two saturdays of non league games that could be used and that’s it. Currently they have all their league games in or scheduled except for a home date with Galion but if anything else gets cancelled I don’t see how they get it in.

Booker almost hit it out on his first at bat. Second was a no doubter. BV walked him every time thereafter. Absolutely the right strategy imo. Honestly 4 I can’t believe they played it but I’m sure it was a product of just being out of dates at this point.

BV beat Harding tonight 12-5 in dreadful conditions. Game was called after 6 innings and almost 3 hours of play. One of the most miserable games (condition wise) I’ve sat thru.

BV swept a DH Saturday beating London and Whetstone. The London game went 9 with BV winning it on the strength of a 9-run top of the 9th. Game vs. Clear Fork today is cancelled. Absolutely no idea when all of these missed games get made up.

Yes I did make those comments based on first impressions. I now find those first impressions to not have been accurate. Maybe I’ll be wrong and maybe not. I’ll have and always will own my comments. I’m with gates, I just want them to win as a program, but I see some of the same things I’ve seen for years starting to develop. Kirby had a lot of momentum in the program and my guess is he’s starting to lose that. If he loses the kids, he’ll be in the same boat as hall. I hope I’m wrong tho.

4-last night should have been 5-1 instead of 5-4. Ontario dropped a pop fly in the 7th which allowed BV to make a rally. They ended up scoring 3 runs on 1 hit. Both teams had trouble adjusting to the strike zone. Plate ump was consistent but he was calling easily 3-4”off the plate to the outside.

Same issue last night. Left Evan in for the whole game when he didn’t have anything left. They didn’t even get anyone warming up as he started to struggle. Couple this with a very questionable use of players imo and I think they will underachieve this year.

Ontario 5-4 over BV. Smh it’s almost like BV didn’t actually change coaches. It’s a broken record.

Honestly I was a little surprised too gates. Perhaps they’re just running out of dates thanks to the weather. Sometimes though, as meaningless as sports are when compared to a tragedy like this, they can provide a little bit of healing. I know last nights score put a smile on my kid’s face.

BV has a new coach. Very impressed with him so far. It may take him a few years to reverse the crappy culture of the previous coach but things are headed in the right direction.
