The previous HC at Harding was obssessed with turning that program around. I think more went into him deciding to resign (Community things and overall pressure) but I can tell you that the amount of time that he will put in as just a position coach pales in comparison to the amount of time that is put as a HC.
I did hear he will be teaching in Findlay Schools as well. He's a good dude and I wish him well. Rumor has it Ross tried to keep him on staff as DC.
On the current Harding front, have heard that the numbers have been good. They currently have between 20-25 Seniors. If Ross can find a way to put it all together, this team has potential.

I’ll say this about the Harding situation.
Many within the district believe in someone that is currently on the staff.
In my opinion, that means Slater or Westler. They both understand the impact/importance of the middle school and youth programs. They both played for Hinton and grew up in that era where Hinton had his hands on everything. I went to school with both of them and think they are good guys.
Not sure how it will all play out but I am guessing that one of them will get the job. I could be completely wrong, this is just based on chatter around Marion.
I saw someone mention Kubbs. I know Slater did coach at Pleasant for 3 years. So I’m sure he knows a thing or two about how the youth program was ran out there.
Don’t post much unless it deals with the Prexies. Hopefully they can win Conference next year.

I think they will hire from the outside. I know that two years ago they liked a couple of coaches from around the MOAC.

First off your opinion makes me laugh and second the only "Harding Guy" to coach at HHS is Coach Brady. To say Coach Brady is a yes man and unqualified also makes me laugh. Heath Hinton and Cupps were outsiders. Don't forget Coach Brady is a Tim Hinton Disciple. So the Cycle was broken and the later outside Coach almost made Harding football extinct. Hajar doesn't want to do a "city" job, he doesn't want to play against the "city" so im sure he doesn't want to coach it. But I can see Slater or the other Brady Coaching at HHS. The only issue the other Brady would have is, he doesn't teach. Brady is a figurehead at best. I saw them play 3 times and he really doesn't do anything. Slater is not head coach material. If he was such a fantastic coach he wouldn't have let a subpar offense (RV) put 28 points on his defense.
If there is anyone on the staff who MIGHT get the job its the OC...and even that's a stretch.
I know that these two want the job. There were rumblings last year that Slater was a finalist for the Ontario job. My money is on Brady coming back for one more year but it would be interesting to see if an "outsider" could make things work.
