Is Willard the next area school to go to eight-man football?

True, Sandusky, Norwalk and Columbian are the three largest. But, Bellevue, Clyde and Perkins are not afraid of them.

13abc relies on BCSN, which is part of Buckeye Cable, for their sports coverage. WTOL used to partner with BCSN but channel 13 made them a better offer.

I find it hard to believe that Bellevue is going along with this. Now that Schubert has retired as AD, does the new AD have no history in Bellevue?

I’d imagine that would be a huge expense for high schools to change uniforms and other things with a name change. Most schools are just getting by let along changing their name. Toledo Bowsher just changed their nickname from the Rebels to the Blue Racers, a snake that is common to Swan Creek which runs through the Bowsher neighborhood.

I agree with an 8 school league is far better then 10. If you try to do though someone is left hanging without a league to be in. I think a solid 8 school league could look like this. Huron Edison Vermilion Port Clinton Perkins Clyde Bellevue Norwalk But then that leaves Sandusky and Tiffin Columbian without a home. The big question is: will Bellevue and Norwalk, especially Bellevue, leave Tiffin with no home? Bellevue and Tiffin have a long history.

Do you really think Port Clinton and Vermilion would stay if they had to move to the Lake?

and i read today sandusky register that there was meeting with pirate coach santoro, lake coach josh andrews and the game officials at 745pm to try and get the game started but lake boarded the bus at 745 and left.by this time teams were playing in northwest ohio and it was starting to clear up that was the main line of storms that went through at 6pm and it was going to get better but lake was misinformed about the weather getting better and coach santoro the weather was good to him and even santoro offered for perkins go to lake and play the game but lake refused.this shows me how much class and integrity that lake coach has.none!!! if i was ashland crestview i would dump lake for next week.an area teams should avoid scheduling lake football in the future. now i would give lake a forfeit since they are at fault here and perkins a win. man, it would be so much easier to read, if you would ever use punctuation. Capital letters to begin a sentence and proper nouns would also help.

Thanks for the reply. With a +34 everybody knows what they do. My niece went to Rogers. She always said at basketball time they would always ask, who are these girls? Where did they come from? Enough said.

Two teams that beat Bellevue playing in state semi finals Minster and Rogers. No doubt in my mind that Coach Santoro will challenge these girls and put them in situations to get better for next year. It was a fun ride. There's also no doubt there's only so far a local team can usually go until you run into some form of recruiting machine, and lights out. Sucks like the OHSAA. I wonder how many of the girls on the Rogers team actually live in the Rogers district. How many grew up in that district. The private schools aren't the only ones that recruit. And that's a fact!

What is considered TCC's district? The city of Toledo or the public high school area (Scott HS) that TCC is located in? If it is Scott HS district, then just about all the students would be from out of the district.

When you begin a post with, "Real F_ _ _ _ _ funny." You are saying a lot about your maturity level. Think before you post and re-read before clicking "reply." Correct spelling and grammar go along way in making yourself understood when posting.

The correct name is St. Michael the Archangel. There was no apostle named Michael. And I didn't know that the church on W. Main Cross was a cathedral. The rest of your post was very interesting. Thanks for posting.

Board members in Ohio are elected for four years and there are no term limits for school boards.
Scarlet is correct, most voters for the same names over and over until the member quits. Thus, the board member votes as they please.

Dude, I couldn't agree more. You never sacrifice academics for a sport. However, the Willard Board of Education tends to do as they damn well please rather than what the community wants.
