There was a lot of rumbling on FB where kids from 9th and JV played 8 quarters of football on Saturday fro Willard. I thought they could only play 6 quarters?

So Willard played a JV game this past weekend? If so, why did they cancel their week 1 JV game vs Norwalk?

There is an issue with some schools having no freshman or JV teams at all. One kid broke his leg for Willard, I'm sure he was probably exhausted from playing 8 quarters, but hey they got the win.

So why couldn't Willard play a JV game in week 1 vs Norwalk, yet they were ok to play one in week 2? I know the Norwalk/Willard frosh played each other.

They used a lot of freshmen in that jv game. I think a lot could only play 2 quarters. Plymouth only had 4 kids on the side line so all things equal I suppose. Did Norwalk want to turn their sophmores and juniors lose on them right after they finished the freshman game?

You're limited to 4 quarters per day, not counting over time. Limited to 50 quarters in the regular season, not counting overtime. It's OK with the OHSAA if you play 4 quarters in a Varsity game Friday night, then 4 quarters Saturday morning in the JV game, as long as you don't go over 50 for the season. But who's counting?

DrugMart, That soccer field you saw on Baseline Rd. was more than anything else was built for the migrant workers and their kids, and they will be gone very soon anyway. So Willard will not be seeing those kids at all when school starts. So there goes your 5-6 big ten players.
