Ontario girls over Galion winning the 5th set 17-15, after losing their first match to Galion in 5 sets. Giving Galion their first league loss.
What a difference a coach makes. In 2 years, she turns a 5-8 basketball only, 3-point shooter into one of the best outside hitters in the area. In 2 years she turns a 5-10 soccer and basketball player into her setter and middle blocker that never leaves the floor. After retiring to watch her daughter play college volleyball and observe college coaching. The itch to coach was still there. Her record coming to Ontario was 576-86 with 22 League Titles and 8 trips to the State Finals. The 9th winningest coach in Ohio history.
The year before taking the Ontario job their record was 2-21 for 2 years in a row. Two years later they're 16-4. If memory serves, this is their first winning record in 20 years.

Your new conference doesn't hurt either. The MOAC is not a good volleyball conference. Galion is 12-1 in conference and 3-5 outside of it.

Ontario wins Sectional Title with win over Mansfield Senior. Cammy Smith with 21 kills. She is third in the state in DII with most kills.

She is third in the state in DII with most kills. someone miss informed you..they did not win a sectional title... ontario was seeded 6th played 12th seed mansfield senior. they won that to play 3rd seed perkins in the sectional final..which perkins won 25-18,25-18,25-17 to advance to district semi finals against Bellevue. the winner of that match plays the winner of norwalk, willard for the district championship.. |

My guess is that she still holds a grudge from her husband being forced to resign as the basketball coach. |

With a small child in the house kids in different school or the current virus maybe she just decided to step down. No grudge and no forced pressure.

She's a class act..total class coach..always enjoyed competing against her teams.. they will be hard pressed to replace her .. |

Is that a statement of fact or a guess? He said "maybe" so I'm assuming it's just a guess. He could be right but I think he's just guessing right now. I know she has a grudge with her husband being forced to resign but not sure if that factored into her decision or not. |

No matter what the reason why that shows total unsportsmanlike for any coach to leave during a match/game hopefully the coach sent an apology to the team that they were playing.

Halfway through the season this is what the standings look like for the MOAC
1. Highland 7-0
2. River Valley 6-1
3. Galion 5-2
4. Shelby 3-4
5. Marion Pleasant 3-4
6. Ontario 2-5
7. Clear Fork 2-5
8. Marion Harding 0-7
barring some epic collapse Highland will be the MOAC champs breaking Galion's 4 year reign at the top.
