I talked to a man and his wife who were in their late 60's/early 70's at the Clear Fork/Pleasant football game this fall who thought it was ridiculous that they changed conferences and said that a football title didn't mean anything because they couldn't do it in the OCC. I was shocked. I said so what you are telling me is that because Clear Fork played and beat teams closer to their own size instead of schools much bigger then them it doesn't mean as much. Give me a break. CF isn't going back to the OCC. Period. It was silly to be in that conference in the first place. At some point in time they may bolt from the MOAC for a conference that is closer to home but it should be one where they have like sized schools. No matter what the older "fans" say, high school sports is about the kids and allowing them to compete on an even playing field so they can enjoy their experience. Going up against schools twice your size is not an even playing field.

Was told Galion played BV tough Monday night at Galion. NU probably the 2 seed. I was told BV won by around 10. I think they won the first meeting by 30+. Heard BV beat Galion by about 30 to make championship game Saturday at Galion.

Playing against schools that were smaller than Clear Fork. Those living in the valley then, thought they were meaningful.

Please tell me what drive they are making now that is farther for them than West Holmes or Wooster. My brother who is a Colt did not make the trip to Richwood or Delaware this season. Not a TRUE fan then. As a TRUE fan I go to EVERY game in the MOAC and EVERY game in the NOL, even up by Lake Erie in the winter time.

Please tell me what drive they are making now that is farther for them than West Holmes or Wooster. From Bellville to W Holmes 30 miles to Wooster 41 miles to North Union 57 miles to Buckeye Valley 50 miles to Pleasant 43 miles Harding 35 miles to River Valley 30 miles Galion and Ontario would be similar to Mansfield, Madison, Lexington and Mt Vernon North Union is out and Shelby is in. Get rid of a 57 mile trip and add a 24 mile trip. River Valley is only 2 miles farther than Ashland. VERY similar distances overall. Clear Fork is by far the smallest school in the OCC, in the MOAC they're middle of the pack. A no brainer.

Went to the Pleasant @ Clear Fork game tonight, and boy am I glad I did. What a game!
Pleasant raced out to a 15 point lead in the 1st quarter, mostly behind the red hot shooting of #2 (Kimmell). I kept hearing that he can really shoot it, and I saw that tonight. He hit a couple of 3s that had to be from about 25 feet, and he showed that he can also handle the ball and score in traffic. He had 16 in the first half and ended up with 23.
Clear Fork kept clawing back all night and actually took the lead with under a minute left before Pleasant tied it to force OT. The game was ultimately decided on a sweet spin move and finish in the lane by Kimmell. Clear Fork got a good look and a put-back chance at the buzzer but couldn't convert.
I was really excited to watch the matchup of Warner against Barnett. From what I've seen, they're probably the 2 best players in the league. They're basically mirror images of one another. Both are 6'4 or 6'5, and both are great athletes who can handle the ball and score from inside or outside. Unfortunately, that matchup never really materialized, as they rarely guarded one another. Barnett was awesome. I think he ended up with 27, which included multiple high-flying finishes after catching lob passes. Warner, who was awesome when I saw Pleasant play at Galion and at BV (where he scored 26), never even took a shot in the first half and only ended up with 8 or 10. He did have an impressive dunk late in regulation. I heard that he's been really sick and wasn't even expected to play, so that might explain why he didn't do too much tonight.
I heard the game between these 2 teams at Pleasant was also a great game. Given what happened in football, when the Colts came back from 14 down in the 4th and won in OT, this looks like the beginning of a great rivalry!

Barnett is 6-3, a 4 year starter, who in the past was strictly a perimeter player shooting a lot of 3-pointers. At 6-3 being by far the tallest player on the team he became a post player over the summer, to help his TEAM be the best they could be. I give him a ton of credit, not easy to do after always playing guard in the past.

Just crazy to think how good pleasant would be (already good) if sophomore Brian Collier never moved to Grandview Heights. He’s one of top sophomores in central ohio now. would come in to the moac and be best player if was still here. left pleasant after 7th grade i believe.

I enjoyed the Pleasant/Clear Fork game so much that I decided to go down to Canal Winchester tonight to watch the Spartans face Harvest Prep, the #1 team in the state in D3. I've been reading on here that some people don't think the MOAC is real strong this year, so even though Pleasant is 18-3, I didn't expect them to be able to hang with HP, who is undefeated and has scored over 100 in half of their games. I left thinking that people aren't giving the MOAC enough credit. The game was incredible. Pleasant led by 2 at the half and actually stretched their lead to 9 in the 3rd, but then the Warriors took control, out-scoring Pleasant by 19 the rest of the way to end up winning 66-56.
Ethan Warner was awesome for Pleasant. He scored 23 (including a one hand jam over a HP defender early in the game), and he also had 12 or 13 rebounds and 5 or 6 blocked shots. He was matched up against 6'6 CJ Penha all night, who has a full ride to Taylor and is a great player. It was one heck of a battle, and you could tell that both players left the court with a mutual respect for one another.
Harvest Prep has a sophomore guard (can't remember his name) who will be another full ride kid: great shooter, great ball-handler, great on-ball defender. They also have a bunch of other kids who are all great athletes. I'll be shocked if they don't win the state championship.
I'm always impressed with Pleasant's grit. Their 4 guards (Williams, Kimmell, Joehlin, and Bluebaugh) are all excellent players who play really hard. HP did a good job on Kimmell, a great shooter, after he knocked down a couple of early threes. I'd love to see Pleasant try to get him some open looks coming off of screens. Pleasant also got great minutes from Bryce Flickinger, a tough kid who always plays really hard in limited time.
No matter what happens in the tourney, Spartan fans should be proud of their team. Congrats to Coach Snively and the boys on an MOAC title and a great year so far. Here's hoping they get another shot at the Warriors in the district final!

I didn't mean to exaggerate how many times Harvest Prep had scored over 100. I was just going by what I was told at the game the other night.
As far as my comments sounding like the Pleasant media guide, I'm just a fan of good basketball, and Pleasant has impressed me in each of the 4 games that I've gotten to see them play this year.
Good luck to all in the tournaments!

It's tough with only six picks each for first and second team. I thought AJ Kenney from RV deserved better. Also if anyone from Harding is in there, it should be Browley, hurt or no.

I Heard Willard Is thinking about Joining the MOAC? Any truth too this! Because after Shelby Leaves they will Bump Up to the Lake Div.

I Heard Willard Is thinking about Joining the MOAC? Any truth too this! Because after Shelby Leaves they will Bump Up to the Lake Div. Willard is not going to the Lake (large) Division. Their football is currently in the River (small) Division, but will most likely be bumped up the the Bay (middle) Division after Danbury, Gibsonburg and Hopewell-Loudon all get added to the River. All of Willard's other sports are already in the Bay.

A couple of N-10 schools are interested in the SBC River Division. If a school leaves, Willard could be a leading contender for the opening.

But if 2 schools leave then perhaps Upper comes into play for the MOAC.

Don't see BV in the MOAC in the future. Last AD talked about changing leagues last yr and I think that is still in their plans.
