I didn't mean to exaggerate how many times Harvest Prep had scored over 100. I was just going by what I was told at the game the other night. As far as my comments sounding like the Pleasant media guide, I'm just a fan of good basketball, and Pleasant has impressed me in each of the 4 games that I've gotten to see them play this year. Good luck to all in the tournaments! I never heard of any of the teams they scored 100 against Wait, do you mean this literally or figuratively? You’d hate to see someone spew untruths online.

As far as my comments sounding like the Pleasant media guide, I'm just a fan of good basketball, and Pleasant has impressed me in each of the 4 games that I've gotten to see them play this year. Good luck to all in the tournaments! I, too, was at the Pleasant vs Harvest Prep game last Saturday. Sitting behind the Pleasant bench, I had a pretty good view of what was going on at this particular end of the court. Personally, I endorse your comments re: MP/HP. I personally had never watched Pleasant play up until last Saturday and, while I’ve watched HP multiple times in years past, it was my first time catching the Warriors this season. HP has had the same coach for a while now, so coming in my friend and I knew what to expect out of HP. We got there in the midst of HP recognizing their 20 or so cheerleaders, as it was their senior night. I said to my buddy “there is no way that [the team sitting on Pleasant’s bench] is their varsity; they look so young and small (sans Warner).” Well, obviously it was their varsity. Coming in, we knew Pleasant had won 18 or so games by that point; so, we knew they had to be at least somewhat capable. Not to discredit Pleasant, but I think HP underachieved big time in the first 2.5 quarters. HP couldn’t buy any shots past the key, as there were a lot of rim-outs. One of the turning points was Pleasant’s final possession of the first half: up four with ~six seconds left, the Pleasant ballhandler is closely guarded bringing it up. As soon as he crosses the half-court line, he goes for a behind the back dribble and immediately gets his pocket picked; steal, transition and a lay-up as time expires to make it a two point Spartan lead. Pleasant, by and large, played a great game. I think HP’s ineffectiveness from the field early on, coupled with Pleasant’s execution and good shot selection, set the tone and it really required a Herculean effort on HP’s part to reign themselves back in and to seize control (down 33-42 toward the end of the third quarter, HP goes on a 14-1 in the balance of Q3 to take a 47-44 lead.) Pleasant looked like a top 10 team in Division III that night; HP, on the other hand, didn’t look, or really play, like the #1 team in D3 for most of the game — although, that comeback and Q4 domination against a fundamentally sound PHS was the kind of effort that can keep them alive in the tourney if they ever run into another uncharacteristically bad shooting performance early on. Warner definitely played like the best player on the court that night, but HP had the next four best guys that night. Pleasant succumbed to HP’s intense man-to-man when they needed to not make mistakes most; too many out-of-bounds passes, passes to no one, and even a couple inbounds passes that never even touched a point or player inside the boundary cooked the goose for PHS. All in all, great game and “Pt. 2” in the district semi-finals will be a dandy.

Barnett is 6-3, a 4 year starter, who in the past was strictly a perimeter player shooting a lot of 3-pointers. At 6-3 being by far the tallest player on the team he became a post player over the summer, to help his TEAM be the best they could be. I give him a ton of credit, not easy to do after always playing guard in the past. He was made a full time guard in high school, before ninth grade he had always worked on big man skills. It would be primarily on the individual to develops himself into a guard from a post player between the 8th and 9th grades. Playing post in middle school would be of little or no use 4 years later, if exclusively a guard for 3 years of high school. JMHO

Your opinion does not matter. However, your statement about him was incorrect so I was trying to tell you something you did not know.

He is a skilled post player that has learned to handle the ball and shoot well from the perimeter while playing in high school. He is playing the position Logan Jones wishes he was.

You on the other hand show what an intolerable human being you are by putting down high school athletes. Those of your ilk can't be helped, just pitied.

One of Galion's starters(#2,Jr) has transferred to River Valley. He was second in the league in steals. His brother was a starter on the 8th grade team.
So Galion is losing 4 players from this year's team and has to replace them with players from a 0-22 Jv team.... Not a good situation.

I believe he's also good at track but galion knows more about our track team than me so he can give more info on that.

What's the AD have yo do with this? His mom moved. Obviously this wasn't a basketball decision. We actually BEAT RV last season. It's not his fault that our b ball programs have largely been a dumpster fire since the 70's. We've had success in most of our other sports and started a soccer program over the last 3 years. Outside of b ball he really hasn't had that bad of a run.

He hired both boys coaches, the girls coach, and the football coach. The success in other sports is with coaches that were already in place. I think the plan to start soccer was already started when he got the job.

I'm trying to tell you he played post in middle school and worked on his post skills and dribbling to be a better post until his freshman season. Then the high school coach moved him away from the basket and he worked on his shooting range. He has become one of the best players in the MOAC. THANK YOU!! I was 100% correct. I praised, something you're incapable of, Barnett for being a 4 year starter. I pointed out he had been a 6-3 perimeter player,(TRUE) which is always an asset to a team. OBVIOUSLY I was talking about high school basketball. Talking about what a player does in middle school compared to high school is a moot point. His game this year was considerably different than what it was the last couple of years. I praised, him for the work he put in over the summer to broaden his game to help Clear Fork become a better TEAM. I knew Barnett would be one of the best players in the MOAC this year, before the beginning of the season. You on the other hand, put down high school players. JMHO
