I know they have higher rated prospects on their radar than Munford. Whatever shakes out, Munford is an imposing figure at 6-8 335 lbs. and judging by videos I've seen, a physically chiseled physique.

Not implying Ohio State is going to add Munford, just saying he is a prospect out there still that could be added if they want another lineman. And he's from Ohio.
Brendan White and Isaiah Pryor could both be linebackers as well once they get to Ohio State, so we could have those two along with Browning and Werner.

There's always that under-rated, hidden gem or two out there every year. Quite often they are playing out of position for what they are best adapted to at the collegiate level.
The focus for these types of players is a higher priority at mid-major schools and non-elite programs, realizing the 4 and 5* recruits are the exclusive property of the elites. Even the elite programs keep a keen eye out for players with great, undeveloped potential, sometimes leaving us fans scratching our heads on those instances where a low rated player gets offered over a highly rated recruit.

I would usually agree with you....
The only "under the radar" type of player OSU is looking at is Munford. Every other prospect is the whos' who of talent.

Okudah is supposedly announcing on the 10th. Gotta think it's gonna be the Buckeyes.

Some reports say he's already a "silent" commit. Osu pulled offer from Simmons to get browning.

Ohio State seems to be trending well for Trey Smith too.

Boom! Ohio State lands the #1 (or #2 depending on source) LB in the nation, Baron Browning. Meyer beats Saban in the fierce recruiting battle for his services. This kid has all the tools to perhaps earn his way into the expected vacancy of Raekwon McMillan, as a freshman, especially considering his plans to enroll early.

I believe he'll be 1 of 2/3 freshman that start right away.

Remember we'll still have Nick Connor back next year to battle for that spot along with Justin Hilliard who has been injured but was once a 5* recruit as well.

And the exact reason only one LB in this class, with Simmons pulling out. The defense is going to be insane. Depth everywhere. A great time for the defensive coaches.

Okudah is going to Ohio State. No reason to worry about him.....

Okudah is going to Ohio State. No reason to worry about him..... Okudah looks like a lock, and if in fact he is, another Meyer win over Saban for a coveted recruit both were scrambling for. The final crowning to this class would be a commitment announcement from Jay Tufele, the nations top defensive lineman, who is going to announce his choice on signing day.

Honestly.....landing Trey Smith would be pretty incredible

Smith would be huge too. Him, Myers, and Davis would be a great offensive lineman class.

5* OL Trey Smith will announce his decision today at 4 P.M., 'live' on ESPN.
It appears it's going to be between Ohio State or Alabama.

^^^ Steve Wiltfong kept his prediction as Tennessee. Hopefully he enjoyed his in home visit with Urban enough yesterday to choose us.

While I hate to be greedy, but landing Wiltfong and/or Smith would just be icing on the cake, so to speak, for probably the highest-ranked class in buckeye history. Couldn't be happier landing the playoff spot but honestly believe we are a year away. If we lose (don't let lightning strike me!) to the Tigers hope this doesn't diminish our chances next season. Seems like only 'Bama is a lock, year-end, year-out. This has been an exceptional, surprising year to be a Buckeye backer!

Fun effort by OSU but he's staying home. He announces later today.

He indeed has commuted to Tennessee Even Ohio State and Alabama couldn't pull him away. Don't think he is going to 'commute', think scholar athletes and all freshmen stay in campus dorms.....lol

Former ND commit, Pete Werner makes it official....he's a Buckeye!
Werner is a big (6-3 223), physical OLB that should contribute immediately on special teams.
Urban beat out the Wolverines, Penn State, Tennessee, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Ole Miss., for his services.
