"All MOAC Teams Posted on MOAC Site".... Girls is for sure a head scratcher. I'm guessing the only thing that makes sense is that all the coaches must think Coach Stout (BV coach) is the COY winner! For a team that is tied for best overall record but only has 2 players receiving honors is crazy! NU receives 5 (1 first team, 3 second team, and 1 HM) but finished 3rd with BV winning both meetings against them? Pleasant receiving two 1st team honors and a HM with BV knocking them into 5th place? 2-20 Galion team being given the same as the 2nd place team with best overall record? You'd think that Harding beat BV both times since they had a 1st team and a HM, but BV just had a 2nd Teamer and HM? Like I said before, the only thing that would make sense would be that Coach Stout must be the COY for a team that obviously was not very good! Never mind SR's on that team lost 2 games in MS were runner-up their 7th grade year and went undefeated in 8th grade, but you'd think that NU was undefeated since all 5 Seniors made all league? Nothing against NU coach, but she must be a bad coach (I personally think she does a great job)? Reminds me of when Blevins girl from Pleasant was 1st team all district (maybe player of the year), but received last pick HM for MOAC a couple years ago. If anyone has any knowledge of how this makes sense, please fill me in. I was a firm believer in the MOAC and not wanting to leave, but obviously the feeling is not mutual for BV. Nothing against the above teams mentioned as all girls that I know, that made all league are great players, but just seems a little bias!

lineitup, Journey Blevins for NU is a freshman, not a senior. 4 of the 5 seniors made it. The 5th senior (Terrill) saw very little playing time. IMO Clark should be POY. They will miss her next year.
Last time I checked, the coaches vote? And everyone gets an HM, the coaches pick their own.
And I think Radcliffe from BV (I think that's her name, maybe gates can help me out) should have been on the list.

Mama, I don't think its that way anymore. From what I was told last yr with the boys is coach puts them up and discusses their yr and why they should be on list then coach leaves room and other coaches vote. Don't think they all make HM if not selected to 1st or 2nd team. I'm sure Coach Stout put Ratcliff on list and she didn't make HM. It's a popularity contest and some coaches don't like her. I have no problem with the 1st team selections, those are the girls I selected as well. My last spot went to Clark or Scowden from BV. My POY is Stevens from RV. Won conf and to me it's her and Douglass from MH who are the best in the league. MH didn't win enough for me to give it to Douglass, she will get plenty more chances to win it. BV only getting 2 and finishing 2nd in league and Galion getting 2 and not winning a game isn't right. I saw better girls on JV teams than Galion had on varsity. Learned long time ago it's all politics and some coaches like each other little more than others.

I’ve been told same-thing as gates. BV was definitely overlooked purposely (just hoping it’s cause the COY is Coach Stout). Yes MM, Clark is a beast and has been fun watching since 4th grade.
My predictions for POY:
Who should get it? RV Stevens as they won the league and she is their best player.
Who I think is best player? MH Douglas... She just need to learn how to win with what she has.
Who I think will win? NU Clark or PL Manaci... both good players and based on how All MOAC players were chosen this makes the obvious choice.
It’s not based on wins.... Sorry Stevens!

Last time I checked individual league honors were just that, individual. Your team gets a nice trophy or plaque for winning and the kids get a patch to put on their letter jacket. Galion received 1 second team and 1 HM. Now to be fair our current coach does not believe in zone defense like it's bigfoot or something and his offensive philosophy is more or less make it up as you go so you won't be predictable. The 2 girls in question are supremely gifted athletes who must love the sport very much to tolerate the garbage that they have to deal with. The circumstances under which they play make it completely believable that Galion could have 2 players on that list yet still manage to not win a MOAC game EVER, not just this year. Obviously the other coaches saw that too.

Galion.... 1. CF only team that played zone all year that I saw and they had 1 player that made HM.
2. Individual awards. Ok so a team that has 1 1st team, 3 second teams and 1 HM should definetly destroy a team like Galion that has 1 2nd team and 1 HM. Right?
3. Thank you for making my point on COY cause if BV is same as GL then he’s not only MOAC COY, he should be AWC (all world coach)
4. Happy for your 2 players.

The fact that you only saw one team all year that played zone tells me that you either only went to 1 game or don't know what you are talking about. I've seen every team in this conference play and Galion is the only team that does not play zone at all.

I guess I just don’t know what I’m talking about. Only MOAC team that played BV zone was CF but I did miss 1 game and 1/2 of another so can’t say for sure. I did see BV play Galion both times and there was not zone played by BV. Maybe mistaken for help side defense? Doesn’t mean zone.. that means good defense! Might just be me. I haven’t seen much basketball in my lifetime.

That is against BV only so not saying your wrong at all. BV has thrown a zone for maybe 1 or 2 times down the court but not against Galion that I recall.

Also we did see plenty of zone but CF was only MOAC team we saw play us zone. Maybe because we had one of the highest 3pt % shooter on our team. Not sure why and not saying your wrong.

I've seen every team in this conference play and Galion is the only team that does not play zone at all. BV doesn't play a zone more than once a game. I've seen every team this yr, every game but 1 CF game. Even if Galion had the worst coach, and he maybe, girls would stand out and I saw them twice and no one did. One had a sprained ankle last game so if she was one that got mentioned then she may be deserving. She would be it. BV has never played zone, trust me I tried getting last coach to play it. This yrs coach throws 1 in for a possession and it doesn't work so he gets out of it.If BV won with him then Galion should be able to win 1 game in league with no coaching. Like I said it's all politics and has always been so I'm not suprised by who did and didn't make it.

And BV just played Galion and Galion hit 6-7 3's and I was saying be nice to play a zone. I think I saw zone vs BV maybe about 3X all yr.

A zone against a good 3 point shooting team is a quick death. So it doesn't surprise me BV wouldn't see much of it. But the other teams do play it at least occasionally. We don't even have it as an option. Galion hit 6-7 3 pointers? I wondered how they kept that game as close as it was.

I could maybe see a 1-2-2 but anything else is just asking for trouble. What galion has been trying to say is that most coaches will at least use a zone at some points during the season even if it's on only for a little bit. Galion's girl's coach for some reason doesn't even believe in doing it EVER.

Douglas is only a freshman, has a chance to be one of the best in harding history. she is prob #2 on my POY choice. Just cause harding didn’t win enough, will win more next year. but she’s d1 bound after HS it already shows. i’m guessing rv player gets POY

That's how I have it 4. Stevens from RV, then Douglas. They both can score and both had good yrs with assist. Stevens just has better players around her that's why they won the league. League will be tough for next few yrs with Stevens only a soph and Douglas a fresh. MH will be better, RV will stay the same. BV and Pl will struggle at beginning of yr starting so many new players but should be good by end of yr. Hope to get my daughter stronger so she's ready for the jump.

I checked the MOAC constitution, for team sports, the coach picks the HM. It's item v under F. I think Clark is POY because she's a senior. Stevens is outstanding and deserves it, but her time will come. Btw NU defeated Northmor by a million tonight.

MM is correct... it’s a PL/NU league so between the 3 1st teamers that matter, I have to go with Clark for POY as well! BV won by 2 million with starters playing half a game tonight, but maybe that’s why they won by that much because per league coaches, BV starters are horrible! 😉

BV beats Horizon 72-7. Mama POY carries a team to a league championship or her team. Clark Lead the league in rebounding. Stevens and Douglas are top 5 in about 3-4 different stats. RV won league is why she gets it over Douglas. You don't get it just because your a senior, you have to do it on floor. But the way the voting went it wouldn't suprise me if they gave it to the tie for 3rd place team.

4, she's not ahead of Stevens,Douglas, Manaci,Linder. I'd even go with Shelby from ontario, she lead league in scoring and top 5 in steals. But if Stevens isn't the choice then they need to find another way to decide.

I forgot to tell you... that 2 million was with a running clock 2nd half (New rule). Clark 4pts?... guessing 50 rebounds? I know Lienberger had at least 10 steals tonight in the 10min of play with 10pts! Alaina R had about same amount of steals with at least that many boards. Hannah C of course trippled her already leading league assist! At one point in the 10min they played she looked almost bored as she gave yet another assist to M Scowden who finished with 18pts in about 10 min with partial running clock.
