Mac Brown still thinks Ohio State should be in, I look for him to be fired or asked to resign. eSECpn can not have this crap from this guy.

I like us being 5th. We can complain about being left out. Not get embarrassed in a game against the #1 and go to a big bowl game to take our frustrations out on an opponent we can beat. And maybe then Urban and the Big 10 Commissioner would get on the expanded playoff bandwagon, which they have not been up to now.

The Committee just told Ohio State this year and Oklahoma last year to STOP scheduling each other. Schedule Mercer instead.
Ohio State makes the playoff if OSU played Mercer instead of Oklahoma. No was a 12-1 Ohio State gets left out.

Thank God i dont have to watch us take a noodle arm qb to a knife fight. We could have housed WIS last night but JT just can't throw the ball. Can't wait til next year when he is finally gone. Guarantee our qb play kept us out of the playoff. And thankfully so. Wasnt looking forward to getting whipped again.

Seems like there's the same argument is every year bout #5, 6, or 7. We need an 8 team playoff. These kids could play more games, They're not that tired. Just cut down on the after the season ends, football activities. Eliminate the East, West, North, & South all star games, and Senior bowls that the nobody watches or cares about. So, boo hooing about being tired, or missing classroom time is bull poop. Increase the tutors hours, Cut down on the other football crap, getting ready for the draft. Those extra games is what the NFL scouts want. We could have an 8 team playoff, That would generate a lot more money than the current system. Get on the band wagon Meyer & Delaney.

eSECpn keeps saying OSU lost by 31 and the most any playoff team has lost by and got in is 14 (Ohio State in 2014). Hello eSECpn, Georgia lost by 23 to Auburn a couple of weeks ago and Georgia is in. eSECpn needs to change their talking points.

OSU just isnt the 4th best team in the country. Bama might not deserve it for their crap schedule, but we sure dont deserve it. We were not very impressive last night vs a bad Wiscy team with a worse QB than us.
Just looking forward to getting a new qb next year. Thank goodness it is over. Been held hostage since 2015 and now its finally finished.

The ONLY THING that matters is a team's win loss record.
Alabama didn't play a Top 15 team until they played and lost to Auburn. Alabama didn't play in a Conference Title game. Alabama finished 2nd in their DIVISION. Auburn finished ahead of Alabama in their Division. Auburn played in the SEC Tile game. Auburn beat Alabama. Auburn lost to #1 Seed Clemson AT Clemson by 8. Auburn beat #2 seed Georgia in the regular season 40-17. Alabama didn't play Clemson or Georgia.
By reading this who should be in the Final Four Playoff Auburn of Alabama?

Ohio State won 3 games against Top 15 teams. #2, #4, #13 Alabama finished 2nd in their Division. Ohio State won their Division and the Big Ten Title game. NOW, the ONLY THING that matters is what your final record is REGARDLESS of who you played. From this day forward, The MOST IMPORTANT thing a Power Five Conference school MUST do is play as many MAC type schools and DII teams as possible. Secondly, NEVER play a non-league game on the road. That's what Alabama has done for decades. If you're a top tier Power Five Conference school IMMEDIATELY cancel all non-leagues on your future schedules against schools from other Power Five Conferences. So your schedules will match Alabama's schedule.

If the Committee followed their own rules, then they must have said Alabama was better than Ohio State based on what they saw on the field. Otherwise, Ohio State wins the tiebreakers (imho). Alabama scheduled Florida State OOC which was preseason #4 and won. It wasn't their fault, the Seminole QB got hurt and FLA St sucked the rest of the year. Even if Ohio St had not lost to Iowa, the Committee may have come to this conclusion.

If it's expanded to 8 teams, the regular season and Conference Championships are diminished. With 4 teams you MUST limit losses to 1. With 8 teams you don't have to win a League Title. You can get in with 2 or 3 losses. It will make coaches and players jobs MUCH easier. Coaches won't have to worry about getting their teams up for every game. Players can take a couple of games off and still make the playoffs. A LOT less pressure on coaches and player. Might as well wuss out College football as most of this generation has already been.

Auburn beat Georgia 40-17 in the regular season, Alabama didn't play Georgia, Auburn played Georgia twice. There are more reasons, I won't bore you.

eSECpn cracks me up. Their job is the 4 best, they chose the 4 best. Last week the 4 best included Auburn and Wisconsin. Auburn trashed Alabama, Auburn is forced to play another game and Alabama magically jumps ahead of a team that trashed them a week prior.

I think bad losses at the end of the season does affect the Committee. Possibly the injured running backs were also a concern that they may not be healthy in time for the playoffs?

OSU doesn't belong in it. So long as their offense is what it is with JT, I can't make any credible argument that OSU can stay within 3 tds of any of those other 3 teams. Like it or not after last years debacle against Clemson, OSU did not give that committee one solitary reason to believe that another game between the two would be any more competitive this year. I doubt they'll even beat USC in the Cotton Bowl. On the bright side at least when we ring in the new year the JT Barrett era will be over(unless he comes back as a GA).

More than anything, one simply CANNOT lose by 31 to an unranked team.

More than anything, one simply CANNOT lose by 31 to an unranked team. Yes instead of scheduling a 9th Conference game vs a 7-5 team, Ohio State should have only scheduled 8 like Alabama and played a November game vs a FCS school like Alabama does every single year. OSU needs to take note and play a softer schedule next year. Washington and Alabama are showing the way to make the playoff is to play cream puffs in non-conference. Alabama is showing the way by playing as few Power Fives schools as they can. Purdue played 11 Power Five Schools, Alabama only had the balls to play 9. USC also needs to stop playing so many Power Five schools, they play 11 or 12 Power Five schools every year, then get 2 losses and left out to teams like Alabama that play tomato cans. If USC didn't schedule Notre Dame then USC would be in the playoff right now. USC scheduled Notre Dame & Texas in non-Conf action to go along with 9 Conference games. USC needs to drop 1 Conf game, drop tough non-Conf games to make their schedule more in line with Alabama so they can pad the win totals and not take a chance of losing. Bama only plays 8 Conf games and schedules the Blind Poor Deaf Sisters of Cerebral Palsy every November.

OR...and I know this is a CRAZY thought...DON'T GET YOUR *** HANDED TO YOU BY AN AVERAGE IOWA TEAM! Nope. Ohio State is in if they didn't play Oklahoma. The Oklahoma loss kept Ohio State out. Last year Oklahoma was left out because they lost to Ohio State. The Committee has made it quite clear in 2016 and 2017 by placing Washington and Alabama in. Do not play good non-Conf games and lose. If you do you are OUT. Play Mercer, Chattanooga, etc instead of Oklahoma.

Using Sagarin Ratings Ohio State lost to #22 Iowa and #5 Oklahoma Clemson lost to #73 Syracuse - talk about a bad loss
OSU just needed to schedule Mercer like Auburn and Alabama did instead of Oklahoma.
Iowa was a solid team - the computers recognize that They beat 11-2 Ohio State 9-4 North Texas 7-5 Iowa State - these guys beat Oklahoma & TCU the two teams that played for the Big XII Championship 7-5 Wyoming Iowa lost by 2 to 10-2 Penn State 7 to 9-3 Michigan State 7 in overtime to 9-3 Northwestern Iowa was oh so close to going 10-2 this year
