The above post is edited to include all the Big Ten Bowl games. I'll edit it again when all vegas lines are out for Big Ten teams.
Sagarin Ratings 8-0 for Big Ten Sagarin Predictor Ratings 7-1 for Big Ten could be a great Bowl season for Big Ten, normally the Big Ten is the underdog in almost every bowl game, plus plays in the home state of their opponent. Many more neutral games this year.

Vegas 6-2 Big Ten 5-4 ACC waiting on Navy/UVA line that won't come out until next week. Probably 5-5 5-4 / 4-5 SEC - Georgia/Oklahoma game has a different favorite at different books 4-5 Big XII 4-5 Pac 12
The SEC historically does worse than projections so expect 3-6 out of them.

This year there are four teams playing bowl games in their home stadiums: Miami, Florida Atlantic, Navy and Memphis
Kinda weird to see that number be that high without it including Hawaii, New Mexico or San Diego State

I just heard perhaps the dumbest, most assanine comment EVER from a supposed knowledgeable tv annoincer. In the pregame on eSECpn for the PSU game, this stupid moron said he watched tge cotton bowl last night and he feels that PSU is the best team in the B1G. First, PsSU aka abuser U, wasnt even in the conference championshio game and got beat by TOSU. Lastly, we were forced to listen to two cheerleaders for USC do tgevgane on eSECpn last night, now another eSECpn idiot continues the hate. Their fear and hatred of the Buckeyes know no boundaries.

Greg McElroy, former 'bama qb, is the moron making those statements. He went even further a few minutes ago and said the PSU qb is the best in the B1G even though JT has all the records. Bama's and eSECpn's hate of TOSU continues unbridled

Stating the obvious: The B1G is not good enough top to bottom to have their champion represented in the playoff. At least two SEC teams are better................. the committee. Stating the obvious: Eight team playoff (8PO)............... is needed.

ESPN has a contract for all games in the 4 Team Playoff until 2026. There won't be a change before then unless ESPN is paid a mountain of money to negate their contract.

Is anyone rooting for U of M to beat S.Carolina so the Big Ten can got 8-0? Or are most rooting against the Team Up North per usual. Thinking 7-1 is good enough.

I would give anything to see SEC teams play away games, Particularly North of the Mason Dixon Line. Especially in temps, below freezing.

I almost always root for the BIG out of conference even U of M. Same here, the operative phrase being "almost always". This would be the "almost always" exception.

I consider the game a win-win scenario. UM losing is always fun to see, plus it would be pretty funny for them to be the only B1G team to lose, and the B1G has already clinched the Bowl Challenge Cup so their game doesn't matter. On the other hand, it would be pretty sweet for the B1G to post a perfect 8-0 bowl record including 2 wins over SEC teams, especially after what happened with the committee. As for who I'll root for during the game, even if I entered the game with a mindset of wanting to see the SEC team lose, as soon as I see those maize and blue helmets instinct will take over and I won't be able to do it. The only time I've pulled for UM in a bowl game was when they played Florida in the 2007-08 season, and that was only because I had spent a lot of time on an LSU forum leading up the the BCS title matchup and got really wrapped up in the B1G/SEC stuff.

My point is let them keep their contract for the semi's and final as is if that is what they want. Just ADD four more 1st round games BEFORE that. More $$$$ for everyone including ESPN.

I agree, would like to see that also, but I don't think SEC would agree to that considering the advantages they now enjoy. Besides, there would be some major bowls (like the Cotton Bowl this year) that would lose good revenue match ups. You would have to give them a piece of the pie and have some sort of a rotation similar to what they do now.

Not going to happen yet, and here's why. eSECpn needs to prop up SEC teams because of their investment into the SEC Network. eSECpn has a LOT of sway in who this 'expert panel' (football expert Condi Rice) pick as the final four. Today 5 SEC teams are going to play on eSECpn, the most by any other conference is 1. eSECpn knew the SEC was atrocious this year (1-3 in bowl games so far) so their last hope is to pull off a National Championship to save the SEC. If the playoffs expanded to 8 anytime soon then that system would include Conf Champs lessening the amount of placements eSECpn could get of SEC teams. eSECpn would sue if the playoff got expanded early because they wouldn't be able to rig the participants in their favor. Just remember you are watching 5 SEC teams today on eSECpn, the most you will see any other conference today is once. Causal fans have been programmed over the years that Jan. 1 is the best bowls, and look 5 SEC teams made a Jan. 1 bowl.

All very good points Rambo. The only way to change any of this is for the public and conferences in other parts of the country to clamor for it loudly enough. Greed will take over if ESPN sees enough $$$ are left on the table. Time for everyone that is not an SEC fan to get on the 8PO bandwagon!

At the end of the day, fans desire for more and more playoff games means squat. The Playoff Committee is opposed to expansion, the University Presidents, Athletic Directors and coaches are overwhelmingly opposed and league commissioners are opposed to lengthening an already exhaustingly, long season. Not in the academic best interest of these student athletes or their physical well being.

Who cares what the committee wants, they are just trying to keep their power. The Presidents, AD's, and Coaches will come around if that's what their alumni and big donors want. Urban Meyer has already waffled. When asked after the Cotton Bowl he said he didn't know. At one time before, he said he was opposed. The season would be no longer. The first round would be the loser's bowl game, end of season. The semi's and championship would be as is now. Season would end on same day as now. Only 4 teams would play one more game. They could always opt out if truly concerned. Same argument was made when they instituted the BCS championship game, and then again when they went to 4 teams.
