Excess Draft Picks(Active and Minors)- Like last year(2017)Excess Draft picks may be used by owners, thus pushing roster sizes over allowed limits of 15(17 for Minors in June). Owners must have Rosters within league limit by Opening Day.

- 3 Man Vote Team (CEO, TIG, BELL)

-Summer Minors Draft
(We are essentially moving the 2019 Minors Draft from March of 2019 to Summer of 2018(3 days after MLB 1st Year Player Draft is completed). Instead of having 15 Minors and cutting to 13 at the beginning of the season, we will expand to 17(after Summer Minors Draft), and you must cut to 15 at the beginning of each year.

MINORS PROGRESSION THIS YEAR: Cut to 13(or less)(March 1st)
2 Round Minors Draft after Active Draft(Players drafted in 2017 1st year player draft) expands to 15.
2 Round Minors draft in June(Players drafted in 2018 1st year player draft) expands to 17.
Cut to 15 at the beginning of next year.
There will be no Minors Draft at the beginning of the 2019 Season. There will be a 2019 Minors Draft in June of 2019)-from rulebook

Mandatory Promoted Players just need to be on your active roster by opening day.

For example, i have Rodriguez that has to be promoted. Can i drop one and promote him? Or do i need to still drop 2?

In the past we have dropped all active players besides the keepers then you can either draft the minor you need to promote or you can add him pre-opening day and draft a full team.

I’ve had another ask the same question. If we need we can vote on it. As it is now, you would still need to cut 2, regardless of mandatory promotions.

TESL is right, however, last year we didn’t have the mandatory cut 2 on the Minors, this is the first year you’ve had to cut from your minors.

A few items to know.  There are 2 tabs. The pick overview tab has all the draft picks each owner has ACQUIRED.  They are highlighted in green and in the column next to each acquired pick there is a reference number.  You can find that reference number on the second tab called "Transaction Log".  During last season I documented each trade with its own unique transaction number.  You can now look up how bad a trade you made.  There are only 2 other colored pick types on the matrix.  One includes a couple of instances where an owner traded away a pick and they through another trade received that same pick back.  The other is a conditional pick involving minor draft picks between SOUTH/TESL.  I highlighted them but I don't have visibility on which pick goes to whom.

Please review for any mistakes as they do happen.  Also any feedback would be helpful as I have another document with a tab for each owner to track throughout the season so everyone knows what assets are out there.

might be worthwhile to get a timeline together, like i am thinking it would be nice if after we cut our minors to 13 teams could promote their mandatory promotion to their active rosters AFTER the Keepers deadline but before the draft

in my case i would name my 15 active keepers and my 13 minors keepers then after rosters were purged i could promote my mandatory minors promotion (Greg Bird) to my active roster (or release him outright) to give me 16 active players heading into the draft

the "bonus" in this timeline is that in essence you would lose your last pick in the active draft and get an extra supplemental pick in the minors draft

kind of a reward for promoting a guy, or we could just say you don't get an extra supplemental pick for promotions...

worth discussing tho

I think by just saying:
15,13 at the keeper deadline
you can use all your accumulated picks in both drafts
Have to be under roster limits by opening day

Covers most all situations without taking away value from any team.

I’d prefer not having to deal with any more supplemental picks than we have to. Plus there’s probably some loopholes there too, like adding a scrub with just under 2 years service on your minors just to get picks in the following draft.

I don’t think you should be able to gain minor picks by adding them, unless you give up keeper slots. We’ve never done it that way.

I agree, but ‘we’ve never done it that way’ doesn’t quite cover it cause we’ve also never had mandatory minor cuts, so I think the question is valid and possibly worth a vote, but judging by the reaction here, it would seem like it would fail anyways.

I was looking at our first years roster and threw the years, it’s interesting to see how some players just fell off the earth since we had started. Also This should be the first year that our minor selections start to really payoff so that’s exciting. And yes I went from being old and trying to win it all to how fast can I flip this for youth and hopefully it works.

I think SITH will disagree that this is the first year Minors start paying off. At minimum, I think he has Sargent and Bryant that have been paying off for him.


Ozuna is about my only one paying off. The rest of mine probably died,
