I just arrived back in Ohio from my Florida home and the Ohio spring timetable is out of whack! My neighbors have yet to mow their grass and mine looks like it did when I mowed it before I left last fall. The yellow daffodils are still blooming, they are usually all done by the time I arrive at this time. My weeping cherry tree hasn't blossomed yet and it is normally, all done blossoming by the time I arrive. The trees are usually breaking out in leaves by now and they look like the dead of winter.
I witnessed the strangest phenomena ever, within a two mile drive through northern Tennessee, went from green leaved trees to totally naked trees and a winter appearing spector.

And who said that we are under a globe warming has not been up here lately. I wish it would hurry up and get hot up here so my shoulder could start feeling better again. I HATE WINTERS.

After a winter of bicycling, jogging, kayaking, fishing, golfing, tennis and flower gardening in Florida, that day I always regret, gets closer and closer on the calendar. Then that day arrives and I must leave all those things I love and head north. I always say, I'm done crying by the time I hit the Georgia line....lol I'm deep into preparing all my flower beds and just had a truckload of mulch delivered. This cool weather, I'm not seeing the activity I enjoy in Florida, it's damn cold riding a bike...lol and kayaking.....well.....

I just had a picture of you kayaking up here and you flip over and heading back to shore. You looked like a popsicle on a stick. You had a name on your kayak and it said tuti-fruity. I figure that was your flavor.

Thanks for the name suggestion DFA, but I think I'll pass on tuity-fruity.....lol Funny, I don't have a kayak up here, but I have both a fishing kayak and a sea kayak in Florida.

SJ - something my parents realized after a half-decade of that constant relocation is that they don't have to ever live in Ohio.

SJ - something my parents realized after a half-decade of that constant relocation is that they don't have to ever live in Ohio. That is very true and something I've been pondering. I love my home down there and I can always take summer visits. Know matter where we might be, I'll always be a 'Buckeye' and love my home state.

Even though I cheer for Michigan there is something about this state. Here in Northwest Ohio, we have the fertile flat lands that raised excellent sweet corn and other good crops and we have the western basin of Lake Erie and the islands for sports fishing. In northeast Ohio we have our fruits and grapes along with some of the best Maple Syrup there is and elegant New England style towns. In the southeast some of the most beautiful wooded hills with some good streams to go fishing in and some of the most friendly mountain folks their are. In the southwest who can forget them and Cincinnati and their BEER making. Some of the best their is. Ohio is my home and I am proud of it like I'm proud to say I'm a BG Alum. Ohio born and breed.

You summed it up pretty well, my friend.
