I don’t get on here much besides to read and stay up to date on happening stuff in high school sports, I’ve posted on some other boards as well. I know a few kids coming home from college and some other situations as well that are looking for full time jobs for the summer atleast. Marion, Delaware, Wyandot and Crawford county areas. Looking for entry level jobs for them 1st shift preferred because schedule they’d be used to, mostly factory work is wanted. If you know of any that are fairly easy to get into and aren’t a slaughter house let me know! Thanks fellas. (Not your typical post but putting the word out any where)

Good luck to all.

Good paying jobs are not longer guaranteed!
You better have book and street smarts to exceed in today's job market.
This is a whole other argument and topic, but Willard Fillmore, your comment isn't too off on accuracy. I am sure there is enough jobs in this county to employ just about everybody 18+. The real question is, people who obtain financial assistance from our illustrious government, will they ever become motivated to seek more than what they currently have.

What constitutes a "good paying job" for a kid home from college? $10+ per hour?

What constitutes a "good paying job" for a kid home from college? $10+ per hour? For a college kid, 10 an hr, sure that’s good. For someone trying to raise a family.... not going to cut it. I then beg to ask why did you start a family if you know you can’t financially support that family off your wages alone..... like I said this topic opens up about 20 different doors.

Birdman, Even if you do start out knowing the job you have can support you to start a family sometimes things happen like your job being shipped overseas, or your place of employment closes it's doors, or in my case have an accident and lose an arm, or some other part of your body. Back when my industrial accident happen if a company was cover by workman's comp. you had to take it and you can not sue the company. This was 44 years ago, now my other arm is giving me some serious problems to were I can not work any more. I also get squad ditty on social security because I am not 65 yet and I had to retired 12 years ago. So sometimes you start off on the right foot but things always get in the way that throws a wrench at you to altar plans.

Well, they shouldn't have to look to hard. There are more jobs that people right now in this area (From Mansfield to Norwalk) and I'd say most of them would start higher than 10 an hour. You are right, tough to support a family on 10 an hour.

Deathfromabove,
I am sorry to hear about your injury/accident. I understand your perspective though. I am more or less speaking about individuals who have children and don't have the means to sufficiently support those children financially. I also understand "Poop" happens at times, but aren't we as an adult suppose to always keep a look into the future, have back-up plans, second routes? I find is frustrating as public servant that I come into contact daily both on and off the job, and see kids suffering, due to poor decisions made by the parent. There isn't anything more fragile and precious than a kid and I hate to see kids behind the 8ball and for some, miles and miles behind it. I also realize, since the beginning of time there has and will always be people who survive and then people who thrive. I just think its irresponsible to bring something into this world you can't "afford" if you will, and then cause a potential life long struggle.
It doesn't help that more and more children are being raised in single parent homes. The generations as they have progressed have become even more *** backwards than the one before it.

Birdman, You are right on with the single parent and it's only getting worse. My wife and I waited awhile before we decided to start a family and we made sure we had money in the bank and insurance and this was 5 years after we got married. We had every thing planned out on what would happen, like one of the boys breaking a bone or needs a operation, also if something would happen to either my wife or me like an operation. I think some of the reason we did this is because we saw how our parents did it and having them teach us the same ways. Another was back in high school we had to take business education course and that showed you how to balance your checking, getting insurance, food, clothing, savings and all the other things you need to make a better life for you and your family. Every parent wants their children to do better than them and I am very proud to say that my sons are doing it because their mother and I have taught them right even though they don't have business education anymore. Some times I think our schools should go back and teach the old ways that worked for us and our parents. Time for me to get off my soap box and thanks for listening.

On Tuesday 5/24 a Richland County jobs fair was held in Mansfield, 70 companies were there taking applications. None were fast food restaurants.
