March Madness is a watered down version of the NBA Playoffs. Except for betting on the brackets, that's better than betting on the NBA. Watered down? LOL, there is no comparison. The same mesh of teams play each other over and over to ad nauseum through the never ending, 82 game season. Then we get the 'PLAYOFFS'! That amounts to a rehash of the same, short list of teams, propping up their overpaid, overhyped, pampered premadonna's. It's merely a business deal, company 'A' vs. company 'B', winner plays the winner of company 'C' vs. company 'D' in bests of 5, best of 7......boring. Bring on the organ music.

Sorry the players are way better now. We have a 6’8 250lbs with guard skills. A 7’ with guard skills. A 7’3 that’s a stretch 4. The days of 2 post players posting up on each block are over. How old are you? Twelve? Not meaning that as an insult, but the era when the league was loaded with all-time, great talent is long past.

Sportsjock I don’t understand how you are making the comparison since you wrote that you don’t watch much NBA. I happen to watch almost every NBA Playoff game (and probably 69 Cav regular season games) and almost all the NCAA Playoffs. That is what my statement is based on. But it’s jmho.

I never said I didn't watch any NBA. I do watch it now and then and I was pulling for the Cav's in the playoffs. Quite often, flip it back on into the 4th qtr. to catch the drama in the final minutes. If you watched that many games, my hats off to you for that, you are a true fan of the sport. My wife would kill me if I watched that many games....lol

The only great players from then through the 90’s that could would be great in this era are Jordan, Magic, Bird, Pippen, Dr J, And Kobe. I’ll toss Shaq in there just because he was just so dominate that you could get something out of him.

I think your list is rather abbreviated. At the moment, the NBA is as depleted of players that will be considered among the all-time greats as I can ever remember and as good as he is, James benefits and feeds off these subpar collection of players that presently inhabit the league. In fact, he eats them alive at times. B/R presented a pretty in depth story on the subject recently that is an interesting read. bleacherreport.com/articles/1554991-ranking-each-decade-of-nba-basketball-from-the-1960s-to-today#slide22

I agree with you on that the vast majored of the players are better now but I have to agree with Sportsjock that the way the game is being played now is bad for the sport. To me it looks like they cannot play defense. Also the players just run up and down the court. In my days we would have one player running down the whole court another would only go to have court while three players would crash the boards get the rebound throw to have court and the other guy would throw to the other guy whose the only one streaking down there. If you are on offence you would only have one running back on defense while four of you would crash the boards. And I have yet not heard a guy yelling PICK to warn your player about it. To me it also seems that no one is stressing the importance of making your FREE Throws. I'm not saying you are wrong and right, no far from it. I know you have your opinion and I have mine, and this is how I feel about the way the pro's play it compare to the college and high schools play it. Thanks for listening Hoss.

If the game is a blowout then I fast forward through more. It's fairly efficient and luckily I'm retired and my wife's still working.

I won’t read anything from them. I think the 10 player team that I could up with from this era would run the 80/90/00’s out the gym.

I don’t understand the point you’re tying to make. Who is “we?” Are you comparing high school basketball to the nba? Terrible comparison if that is what you’re trying to do.

Back to the topic. Current odds have the Lakers as a big favorite Where did you get that? I say fake news! LeBron not tipping his hand. We need Paul George in Cleveland. He’s probably had enough of the Western Conference!

I've always had the strong feeling, LeBron's career will gravitate to L.A. at some point of other. Many of the basketball greats have been drawn to the glitz and glamour that is L.A./Hollywood. Presently owning two homes in L.A. further fuels speculation.

NBA basketball is very one dimensional. Give me college and H.S. any day.

I cant really see him going anywhere. Nothing makes a lot of sense. Certainly going to the Western Conference doesnt make sense. And no one in the East really makes sense.
Yet the Cavs dont make sense either. They are not a talented roster.
I think the Knicks would be in play except for the ownership.

Would LeBron play for a team from a foreign country, in which the majority in their citizenry has a disdain for Americans?
Rumor has it Bronnie has been enrolled in a school in Chatsworth California.
OR the rumor that LeBron was in Houston looking at high schools.
The truth is, if LeBron signs with a Western Division team, not from the Bay area, he'll never see another NBA Finals, hurting his goal of being the GOAT.
Would the Celtics/Kyrie accept Lebron? If I was Celtics management I wouldn't care what Kyrie thought. Even the best coach in the NBA can't beat the Western Division all star team without LeBron. That and Kyrie will never be healthy for an entire NBA season.

Well seeing as how his oldest son is entering 8th grade and not HS I find the HS enrollment rumors priceless.
Think before you gurge.

Obviously you are NOT a parent. One does not look at middle schools. Especially in large metropolitan areas, it is MUCH more important for the parent to look at what high schools middle schools feed into.
Can't speak for Texas, but some states allow 8th graders to play on the high school varsity basketball team. You do remember OJ Mayo?
Thanks again, impotent one.

Windhorst has made a career by following Lebron and as a Akron St V graduate, Lebron’s camp has feed him info along the way.

I can easily see him in a Laker uniform and sure there are elite Catholic schools in the L.A. area. Historically, A good share of the superstars put on a Laker uniform before they hang it up. The draw to the bright lights, glitz and glamour of L.A. is a powerful attraction.

Lonzo Ball would have to be gotten ride of first. It would be a contractual stipulation. Not so much because of Lonzo, but his father is a complete jack wagon. He says his son is better than LeBron.
