Ok so June has come and gone and summer basketball has completed. What is anyone's opinion of what they've seen? Had the opportunity to watch Mohawk,Carey and Upper play a few times and all three looked good. Mohawk has a lot coming back and I see them challenging for the top of the league. Can't argue that they won't coming of the tournament run they had. Carey lost 8 seniors I think.. that's a lot to overcome but the Stone for them is a load as long as he keeps his attitude in check. Coach sat him all day Sunday at Eastern Ohio. Upper I was expecting to be down some. Offensively they looked solid but defensively they will struggle to attract with the same on ball pressure they have before. Their three seniors last year spearheaded that. Where do the new coaches mix in? How will Morh do at another run in Wynford? BC is going to struggle no matter who the coach is... Long at S.E. is interesting although losing Pugh will hurt.. Anyways that's my take. All the N10 will be chasing Col. Crawford though.😎😎

Heard a rumor out of Crawford that the McCreary kid and Feichtner kid are both leaving. McCreary going to Upper and Feichtner going back to Wynford. Just rumors?

The McCreary kid has been rumored to be changing schools before, just like the rumors about his older brother while he was in high school.

Had heard the Feichtner rumor but not the Mceary one. Feichtners family still lives in Wynford school district?? So dont know about eligibility.. whether or not he'd have to sit. Now Mcreary to Upper would be a stretch. Think that's a big rumor. But hey things can happen

IF the kid lives in Wynford and has open enrolled to CC since before high school he could return to Wynford without sitting if I understand the rules.

Hearing the Feichtner kid probably staying at Crawford. Had my hopes up for the Royals. Would have been a solid two players with him and Crall. Heard the McCreary kid is a definite. Family bought a house in Upper.

That would be a big boost to Upper and a devastating blow to Crawford.. Will believe it when he's in a desk on the 23rd of August...

Yeah this would be a major blow to CC chances of a deep tournament run the next 2 years.

Are they going to be as good as they have been? I really don’t follow them but knew the coaches kid graduated. Thought CC might be better then them this year but maybe not?

The fact that the coach did not step down after his son graduated and rumors of multiple new players make some think they will still be good.

Update. The Feichtner kid is playing golf for Crawford so obviously he is not going to be here at Wynford for basketball. Was hoping he would come back for his last two years. Good buddy of mine from Upper said the McCreary kid is a done deal. Family moved to Upper and kid enrolled due to a Grandparent being at Long Term Care Facility in Upper. My buddy, his wife and others have seen him and his family multiple times at the Care Facility, School and around Town.

Not so sure St. Pete’s contends for District Title this season. They lost their best 2 players who accounted for well over 50% of their offense along with a couple solid senior role players. They return 1 starter and most ganes they only played 5/6 players the entire game. If the coach did stay, he would have to have had a great recruiting summer to get the team re-loaded with enough talent to win a District Title. South Centrsl, Crawford (even minus McCreary), Sandusky St. Mary’s and Norwalk St. Paul will be the teams battling this season for District Title.

Caleb Stewart and Jonah Ramey were both underclassmen last season and started. Also, Luke Henrich may have been an underclassman and he started some games. A long time St Pete fan has told me there have been 2 kids move to the area from out west. One is 6'8" kid and the other is 6"0" and both can play.

He was at the fall sports team rally Upper has every year with the Vent kid and the Sowers kid who broke both his legs last year. Will be very interesting to see if he gels with that group of players. Adding him to the Upper team definitely makes them the team to beat again in the n10. Can you say 4 time champs.

I myself cannot say that but I can envision the CC coach's head about to explode.

Upper with Vent Young Holy Clifford & McCreary should definitely be favorite to win the N10. Crawford will still be good. Mohawk should be good with everyone back. Carey should be good with the Stone kid who has D1 offers. The big question with Carey will be their guard play. Would have loved to have been a Fly on the wall when Sheldon heard about the McCreary kid transferring. I CAN say 4 times champs!

WF, thought that to. I live over here between Crawford & Upper north of 30. Even if they bought on the East side of Upper, it would be a 35+ min drive on 30 most of the way. In the winter 30 west of Bucyrus and east of Upper can get pretty ugly with snow & ice. Not sure I would have let my kids make that drive when they were in school. A lot of late night winter driving for a high school kid. Not sure there is more to it, but I guess there could be. Maybe the kid didn't have a choice - Parents could have made the decision for him.

Yep, there could have been more to it, for the parents. Why not live on the West side of Bucyrus and make if 15 miles both ways? As you know Ontario has a lot of open enrollment students, they drive from Shelby, Galion, Crestline and the East side of Mansfield even from CC, without giving it a second thought. There are many kids from as far away as Lex and CF that drives every day to Pioneer in Shelby. BTW my wife for many years has driven from the east side of Ontario to the west side of Galion almost every day in all seasons on 2 lane roads to visit her mother in assisted living. We never even thought about moving. Too many reasons to stay where we are.

With the lack of loyalty in today's high schools sports I would say this is nothing more than what has been said. The family moved to be closer to the relative that lives in the immediate area. I would also not let my kids drive 25-30 miles one way to attend a school. The added trips for an athlete making that drive would be a nightmare for the next 2 years.

WF, as I said there could be more to the situation that we don't know about. Wished he would have moved to Wynford School district. Sounds like it is a done deal. Good pick up for Upper.

Yes, McCreary is enrolled at Upper. And, yes, from what I was told, to say that Coach Sheldon is upset is quite the understatement.😀

Well we all know what happened the last time Sheldon got "upset". Looks like the MOAC might find that 8th team sooner rather than later.

Well we all know what happened the last time Sheldon got "upset". Looks like the MOAC might find that 8th team sooner rather than later. Much was made of how quickly a new league was formed "last time". Kicking out Upper should not be as complicated as forming a new league, so I guess we'll know if your statement is baloney or not, by basketball season.
