What are people s thoughts tgis upcoming season. I have a few to share. 1. St. Paul lost a talented senior class. They bring back 2 nice running backs, but will be breaking in a new qb 2. Mapleton has all Ohio 4 year starter at qb back, with some talented skill players. 3. Dont know a lot about new london or western, but that they have new coaches, both of which i ve heard good things about. 4. The young coach has taken some nice steps at south central, but will they be able to continue to progress. 5. Monroeville has been much improved the last 3 years. They bring back a decent amount, but lost both leroux's. 6. Crestview lost a huge senior class but still has the best numbers in the conference. 7. Plymouth did very well the first year they ran the double wing, but they lost Bailey.
I honestly think the conference us wide open.

They won’t miss a beat and actually may be a bit better this year

I don't know if St. Paul will go 10-0, but after losing that big senior class, they still bring back a lot of lettermen.

I don't know if St. Paul will go 10-0, but after losing that big senior class, they still bring back a lot of lettermen. They had like 6 seniors last year. They return basically their entire o-line. When that happens they are really good. Who on their schedule is going to beat them?

Hoss, I don't know the exact number, but I will do some digging and see if I can come up with a number.

I do think St Paul will win the conference and they should be playing in the Regional Championship game. However, depth is going to play into their success if major injuries occur. There are 5 very good athletes that are not playing football that would give this team the added depth they need. Yes, Mapleton and Crestview may be a handful for the Flyers but the Seniors on this team will be playing in their 41st game of their career when they start the season and the Juniors will be playing in their 28th game. All the playoff experience makes this younger team more experienced than most. They also have a transfer who may only be available for the first part of the season. Here is a snap shot of what they may look like. (there is a lot of young talented players that I did not list)
Norwalk St Paul 2018 outlook
Defensive starters from LY returning: Top 3 leaders in tackles return Good @ LB-Sr. (153 tackles LY, 1st Team All Ohio) Myers @ LB-Sr. (109 tackles LY) Crabbs @ OL-Sr. (102 tackles LY) Hedrick @ DT-Sr. (60 tackles LY) (going to wreak havoc on both sides of the ball) ___________________________________________________________________________
Other notable Defensive returners: Starcher @ CB-Sr. (9 tackles LY) Livengood @ CB-Jr. Blair @ DE-Jr. (15 tackles LY) Caizzo @ OL-Jr. (26 tackles LY) Service @ DT-Jr. Griffin @ S or CB-Sr. Stoll @ DT-Sr. Tokarsky @ DT or DE-Jr. ____________________________________________________________________________
Offensive starters from LY returning: Number 2 and 3 offensive contributors return Good @ HB-Sr. (1017 yards of rushing/receiving LY) Myers @ C-Sr. (All District) Hedrick @ OT/G-Sr. (All District) Caizzo @ FB-Jr. (932 yards of rushing/receiving LY, All Conference) ____________________________________________________________________________
Other notable Offensive returners: Crabbs @ SE-Sr. (should be very explosive on offense) Griffin @ QB-Sr. (Great Kicker and Strong Arm who can make all the throws, 6’5”) Stoll @ OT-Sr. Moffit @ G/OT-Soph. Starcher @ WB-Sr. (Should have a big year on both sides of the ball) Service @ T-Jr. (Strong as an OX needs to just play the game) Blair @ TE/WB-Jr. Matlack @ OT/G-Jr.

Wellingtontoyman, Boy that a long one to type out. Anyway you forgot one very important person there. You can never count out a JL coached team. If I remember correctly, JL has only coached 1 losing season and that was his first year. I'm not sure but I think he has been coaching for 27-28 years now. He has a way of putting the right people in the right places that suit his style of play and he hasn't change not one thing or one play at all, and I mean the basics, of his game plan from when he took over. When he decides to hang up his cleats he would surly be in Ohio's football coaches hall of fame.

I must of been thinking about the year before. Either way I still don’t see anyone touching them on their schedule

I think there were 5 seniors that graduated 2 years ago.

He has coached 328 games and has a career record of 260-68 overall (.793%) and 164-27 in the FC (.859%).
He has led the team to 19 FC Championships, 1 State Championship (2009), 4 State Runner-Ups, 8 Regional Championships, and has made it into the playoffs 19 times.

Thank you Thrill, I just couldn't remember if it was 27 or 28 years and the rest, I wasn't about to guess on that. Anyway that man there is one hell of a coach.
