I'm not a Browns fan, but my brothers and my dad are. I just enjoy watching professional athletes perform. For someone with no skin in the game yesterdays Browns game was quite entertaining. I guess my question is if you only follow/support a team when they are winning are you really a fan? I guess bbmind will have to weigh on that one. Of course you'd have to ask the question on a Bengals thread since that's the team that he secretly roots for. "Withdrawal in disgust is not the same as apathy." -Richard Linklater

Can't help myself . . . As my husband (the Browns fan) stated, "This somes up our season perfectly!"
During the first half, fans sitting in the "Dawg Pound" section of the stadium attempted to unfurl a three-piece banner that said "Dawg Pound."
But in quintessential Brownsian fashion, the three signs were mixed up and instead read "GPODAWUND."

Ezekiel Elliot sets the rookie, single game rushing record this Sunday?
I expect a big game from him, but nothing to surpass the greatest single game performances of the past:
*Gale Sayers rushed for 336 yds. on a muddy field vs. the Niners in 1965 and 6 TD's, including an electrifying 85 yd. punt return.
*Adrian Peterson chalked up 296 yds. and 3 TD's vs. the Chargers in 2007.
*Bo Jackson rushed for 221 yds. vs. the Seahawks in 1987.

Better recheck your stats...Walter Payton had the single game rushing record of 275 yards vs. the Minnesota Vikings in 77...Perhaps the Kansas Comet was all purpose yards back at Wrigley in 65

Better recheck your stats...Walter Payton had the single game rushing record of 275 yards vs. the Minnesota Vikings in 77...Perhaps the Kansas Comet was all purpose yards back at Wrigley in 65 Thanks, I stand corrected on this. This time I referred to the 'NFL Official records" (I think those were APY's) NFL All-Time Single Game Rushing 296 YDS. - Adrian Peterson, Minnesota vs. San Diego, Nov. 4, 2007 295 YDS. - Jamal Lewis, Baltimore vs. Cleveland, Sept. 14, 2003 278 YDS. - Corey Dillon, Cincinnati vs. Denver, Oct. 22, 2000 Hmmmm, no Walter Payton, no Gale Sayers, no Bo Jackson Is Ezekiel capable of getting into that company? Most definitely, with his speed that can break a long one on any given carry.

Don't underestimate the Browns defense and their ability to miss tackles.

This may be the year the Browns do lose every game. Defense can't stop anyone and the offense is lucky to score in double digits, but usually not (like against the Ravens).

The Cavs have won a title and the Indians have a World Series appareance since the last time the Browns won a game.
I'll take it.

I have heard since 1999 that the Browns are close. A guy I work with tells me they are just a couple players away from being great? It is like shampoo directions, wash, rinse, repeat. They are nowhere close to having a winning season. Their O-line is horrible, qb play horrible, no wrs and a running back that wants the hell out of Cleveland. But, we get another first round wasted pick. SMDH.

If you think Coleman was a wasted pick you haven't watched them. He's nagging an injury most season. And has produced when on field. He has the rookie jitters. But he is gonna be good.

It's hard to believe that anyone even spends hard-earned money to sit through the weekly home debacles in Cleveland. The team does not know how to win as the culture of losing overrides everything. Teams probably practice harder for the Browns than others because how embarrassing it would be to lose to the Browns.

Quite a few close losses. Few plays away man and that sucks lol. I'm still hopeful for next year with 4 picks in first 2 rounds. Get a line to protect and a qb could do good. And a secondary. But Pryor has been a bright spot. But geez what an ugly season.

First, show me the players on this roster that you can build a winner around. But more significantly, everyone knows about the NFL salary cap but there is also an NFL minimum that each team has to hit that is part of the CBA as well. With the large number of "players" on this roster that on their rookie/first contract and the complete absence of star talent anywhere can somebody show me where they are spending this money? Is the owner using it to pay his legal costs because it is certainly not anywhere to be found on the field.

But coaches salaries don't count towards the cap.

it was a joke son, your parents have any children that lived?
sane people have given up trying to figure out why the Browns suck, they just accept that they do, like they were poisoned and losing is the antidote

Rob Chudzinski won either three, four, or five games and was fired after ONE season with the Browns. Jackson has won...well you know. What will be his fate? I remember reading during preseason training camp that good positive things were happening. Yeah...good night they are positive--ly horrible. RGIII should not return next year to the Browns.

A man from London came to the US after WWII in 1945 and passed away in 1960. He thoroughly enjoyed a sport we Americans call football, and became infatuated with how well run the Detroit and Cleveland franchises were run. On his tombstone it read, "Cleveland and Detroit, two cities that will never have a ---- -----."

If the draft was held now, the Browns would have two picks in the top ten. Odds are that will still be the case months from now when the draft occurs. Time for the analytics approach to turn around the mess they are in. I don't care if they trade down to secure more picks, which seems likely, but the front office has to hit a HR this time around.

I know it's not what people probably want to hear, but I'd try to trade one of those firsts for a first in 2018. I like the crop of QBs projected in the first in 2018 much better than those this year.
However that would mean we would either need to get at least two more years out of Griffin/Kessler or deal for a QB that you feel confortable giving a two year shot to while Jackson/Darnold/Rosen develop. Build the defense and the line.

I'm all for Haslam selling the Browns, Or move his team, London ? St. Louis ?. St. Louis "Browns"...wouldn't that be ironical? They were a miserable AL baseball team with one appearance in the World Series in 1945.
