This matchup has been known as the most likely possibility for some time, and as of last night has been mathematically set in stone.
I'll post the full schedule when it is announced, but what we do know at this point is this series will be on a Fri-Sat-Mon-Tue-Thu schedule beginning October 5th in Houston, and that all the games will be on TBS.
This will be Cleveland's 10th appearance in a Division Series, we are 5-4 in the previous 9. This will be Houston's 9th appearance in a Division Series, they are 3-5 in the previous 8.

Like last year against Boston, Astros take this puppy in 4.

With the lack of clutch hitting especially Jose Ramirez I'd agree.

It all started when the Tribe went to Boston a month or so ago. At the time he was one home run behind the Bosox slugger. It was obvious his only concern was his personal stats. He hasn't been the same since.
Lindor and Ramirez batting average have both dropped 30 points since then.

Hope so. We've seen it before, a team coasts into post season almost bored, then catches fire and goes onto win the whole thing. I think we'll see in the ALDS if the coast is still there or if Tito can get them to catch fire. I like our chances.

I'm sorry, but any team playing in the AL central who is a threat to win the world series should have 110 wins right now.

I was only partially joking. The tribe lost 26 games to possibly the worst collection of teams in a division in recent memory. If they only had lost half of that they would be sitting at 103 wins. That would have them with home field in the first round rather than Houston

Potential starters: GM 1-Friday-Verlander (2.52) v Kluber (2.89) GM 2-Saturday-Cole (2.88) v Carrasco (3.42) GM 3-Monday- Keuchel (3.74) v Clevinger (3.02) GM 4-Tuesday-Morton (3.18) v Bauer (2.26) GM 5-Thursday Verlander v Kluber
I like our chances if the bullpen comes through. Houston has a good pen also. The Tribe scored 816 runs this year and Astros scored 797. Team BA Tribe-.259 to Astros-.256

Unfortunately we are seeing the Indians reap the rewards, so to speak, of beating up on the minor league teams in the division and not beating anyone good all year. Both the pitchers and obviously the hitters feasted on the minor league teams of our division. This series will be over quickly and painlessly.

The line-up looks solid, very solid.
With that said, these guys can't hit like that and I don't care who you're up against, you want to be the best you have to hit the best.
I going on a limb, Indians in 5 HA!

Here’s hoping the offense decides to show up. Houston is really good but so are the Indians. They lost all margain for error.

The problem is Clev isn't really good. If you traded any other playoff team schedules with Clev, Clev would have lost 10 more games and the other team would have won 10 more. Clev is in the playoffs only because they play in a division which was all time putrid.

There should absolutely be some trades made this offseason. Miller, Allen, Kluber (throws too many fat pitches), Otero, Olson and anyone else. Ramirez may have hit his peak last year. There is a reason that the Astros are the reigning World Champs as they hit in the clutch and have tough pitching. This is something the tribe sadly lacks.

No surprise that Houston won the series, but didn't expect to be swept in embarrassing fashion. Need to pitch, hit and field to be successful and Houston kicked our behind in all 3 areas.

Miller, Allen, and Otero are all free agents and likely won’t be back. Also Brantley, Guyer, Chisenhall, Tomlin, and Donaldson are free agents as well. Next years team will no doubt look different, but in this division should win it easily.
