Absolute great great game, literally gave me an upset stomach. My dad used to get so upset during Buckeye games he would have to go outside and not watch for awhile to calm down. I probably should've done that today. That game was rough on my nerves.

What a game! Tough D from both teams but big plays were mixed in as well. Three dropped balls early hurt the OSU offense killed momentum, including a screen to Paris. Like Whittaker said, they didn't try a screen again until 3rd qtr. Shades of TCU game when WR screens opened things up. PSU could have used the 3 pts they eschewed to get a 1st down around the OSU 20 yd line in the 2nd half with OSU up 14-13. They dropped some key passes too. McSorely played his tail off and I was stunned they took it out of his hands at the end. Ben Victor, wow, what a huge play. Baron Browning seemed MIA the whole evening, expecting big things from him. Thank god they aren't playing at Iowa or Mich St next weekend.

That was a dumb 4th and 5 play call, by we are Penn State. I'm just dumb founded, being down by 12 with 8:00 minutes left, and comeback to win. Barrett iv would have done better than Haskins jr. did, Only because of Haskins inexperience. I still think Haskins will be a higher round draft choice, when he chooses to leave. I think he stays next year.

Was this Haskins first college game on grass? Cardale lit it up in domes and was just okay when playing outside. Haskins has lit it up on artificial turf, didn't look so hot on natural grass. Lots of over throws like he was expecting his receivers to be faster (like they would be on artificial turf, than on a slick field). What was up with that turf? Lots of slipping, lots of turf getting stuck in facemask/helmet connections.
The targeting rule needs fixed soon. It's getting ridiculous in every game at the Pro and College level. Meanwhile offensive players can lower their heads and ram them into a defenders head, no targeting. I think the rule is in just to create more offensive scoring.

You know what is refreshing is that we have nobody claiming Haskins played good last night. If this were 2017 or 2016 or 2015 we'd have the JT IV fanboys on here telling us how amazing he was last night.
Haskins was 22-39 for 270 yards, 3 TD's 1 INT
^^ If that were JT IV stat line his fanboys would be on here telling us how amazing he was. Gladly now we can all say the QB didn't look good when they didn't look good. Haskins did not play well last night.
The sad thing is that sportsjock is still on here telling us how amazing JT IV would have been if he played last night. HUH? JT IV lost to PSU in 2016 and needed a huge comeback in 2017.
Last 2 trips to Penn State 2016 - JT IV 28/43, 245 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT - 17 carries, 26 yards 2018 - Haskins 22/39, 270 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT - 4 carries, 8 yards

Love Haskins and hope more than anything he comes back next year, which personally I think he will. The passes he made last night though and where he got all his yards were the exact same ones that you made fun of Barrett for, short passes that the receivers or running backs would turn into long plays. I don’t remember hardly any deep passes he completed last night which is what you would complain about Barrett not doing. Part of that though was him not getting protected well but the Oline did much better at that in the second half.

I couldn't help myself. At any rate, watched the game, and for the life of me , don't understand Franklin's play call on 4th down. Great win for OSU and congrats!

My 2nd girlfriend reminds me of Beaver Stadium. The music was loud, tough defense was played, mistakes were made, and penalties were enforced. Weak spots were found, strategies were adjusted and Happy Valley was experienced. And the grass was real.

I didn’t listen to much of the postgame stuff but was wondering today if they had a couple of plays called and mcsorley checked to that by a read he thought he saw?

What puzzles me the most, is the Buckeye defense failing to make the proper adjustment to account for McSorley. Take away the big yardage from his keepers, this is a very different ballgame. The wide receivers are proving to be a very special unit this year. So deep and talented, with exceptional abilities after the catch is made. As I understand it, the 4th & 5 call was a QB read. Buckeyes really showed their character, unrelenting in their resolve, when down 12 late in the game, instead of hanging their heads, they stepped it up big time.

Always Mr. cool and calm up to this point, he was clearly rattled and intimidated, especially in the 1st half. Throughout the game his passes sailed beyond it's intended target, making me believe the adrenaline produced uncharacteristic mechanics. Is anybody questioning him moving forward? Absolutely not. Mark this one down as a valuable experience in his maturation process. I too, believe we will see him suit up for the Buckeyes in 2019.

only in JT Fanboy-ville can Haskins account for all 3 TDs in a comeback win @ PSU and still get criticized

Short Sample Size If you were well read you would know that HASKINS said he threw to the routes Penn State was giving. The few times he tried to throw the deep ball the Penn State DB's were all over the WR, KNOWING what Haskins' game is. Ohio State wasn't playing Oregon State. The Penn State DB's did an excellent job of coverage and they knew that Haskins liked to throw the deep ball. BTW, just throwing deep balls did not open up the running game.

The 'targeting' call against Ohio State at the 13:00 minute mark of the 3rd qtr. was totally incorrect. Penn State WR Hammler was injured on the play, but the two Ohio State defenders were not to blame. Replays clearly showed neither defender's helmet came even remotely close to any contact with Hamlers helmet or his body. It was a clean play beginning to end. Mysteriously, the video review held up the initial referee ruling. Bad, bad, bad, call and ruling!

One shoulder pad made body contact and the defensive man actually pulled his arm back to avoid any contact........BAD CALL! The fact remains, the new 'targeting' rules implemented by both the NCAA and NFL were put in place with safety foremost in mind, but it is creating a circus of flags that are thrown far too often, good clean tackles are being penalized. Just ask Clay Mathews about that one. Are helmets with softly padded exteriors in the games future?.......lol

Take the helmets away from every player. If it is used as a "weapon" then eliminate it

By the definition of the rule, I’m not saying I agree with them, it was targeting. www.google.com/amp/s/www.sbnation.com/platform/amp/college-football/2016/9/7/12829482/targeting-penalty-rulebook-ncaa-football
