I lived in Wooster from 91 - 2001. Have eaten at both pizza places, and thought they were okay. My dad (from Norwalk) was a huge Coccia House fan. But his memories from the 60's were a little different. Because of my young age and wallet, and preference for a thinner crust - KD was common choice for us. I even worked there for a couple of summers.

Tano's Pizza is a decent pizza chain up in the northwest corner of the state. Locations in towns like Napoleon, Wauseon, Swanton, Bryan, and a couple others. We stopped at the Swanton location the other day while traveling west on 80/90 to Indiana. Speaking of pizza joints up in the northwest. We just happen to be up that way and stopped at Myro's Pizza in Bryan the other day. I though it was just another average pizza but my wife really did care for it. Would not place it very high my list.

Next time we are in the Carey area which pizza place should we try ? Spanky's Pizza, Angelo's Pizza, or Carey Pizza Palace any recommendations? Angelos for it's toppings.. Spanky's for their sause and spicy pepperoni.... Carey Pizza Palace for their foldovers... And FWIW Angelo's is the cleanest of the three

The Depot in Fremont has amazing pizza! Plus it's a fun atmosphere. Also, have to agree with the Brick Oven in Sandusky. Excellent food (many choices) and for the beer drinkers - a great selection! Finally made it to the Depot in Fremont. It is a really cool looking spot being in an old depot building by the tracks. But that wouldn't mean much if the pizza was bad. Not the case this is a top self pizza with great sauce. With that sauce I would really like to try a sub at this place some time. Got to say there is one disappointing thing about this place, it's too far from my house to get there very often. But it's worth the drive I recommend this spot. only having it once I would give it a 8.5 to 9 out of 10 ranking.

My current top 10 Local Pizzas You won’t go wrong with these choices
Purple Indian Pizza in Mount Gilead Southside Pizza Mansfield Deschner's Mansfield Depot Pizza Fremont Vicario's Pizza Bellefontaine Countryside Pizza Mansfield Pizza Wheel Bellevue Padrone's Pizza Ada Leaning Tower of Pizza Mansfield #1 for subs not pizza Courthouse Pizzeria Medina
A few honorable mention Matsos Wooster Koenigs Korner Lattasburg sheet pizza Fast Eddie’s Bellville Fort Ball/Jac & Do’s Tiffin
Will see what my list looks like next year after another year on this site. Still many untested spots left. I’m sure there may be some better ones in the bigger cities like Cleveland or Columbus. My current list is mostly smaller rural towns closer to the forum viewing area.

Sauced in New Riegel gets my vote. Pizza Wheel in Bellevue and The original cameo in Sandusky are my favorites.

Tried Jet's Pizza in Sunbury a while back, kept hearing how good it was. We had the normal round pizza didn't think it was all that great. I was later told we got the wrong thing that you need to get the square pizza it's better. Anybody tried these is there really a difference in taste?
Probably should have gone on into the town square in Sunbury and had Long Branch Pizza.

Stopped in Wooster and picked up a Honey Baked ham while there just down the road was Bosco's Pizza Kitchen so we stopped and tried it. It reminded me of Dominos nothing great I would not get it again.
I know we have already talked about Matsos in Wooster on here (good spot). But it also looks like there is some other cool restaurants down town Wooster Broken Rocks Café & Bakery, Rox Gastropub, Basil Asian Bistro to name just a few. Anyone eat at any of these ? Wish we would have tried one of those instead of Bosco's.

I was in Daytona Beach, FL on business last month... tried Constantine's Pizza. Crust was just like Domino's. Otherwise, it was like eating a hot circle of garbage.

A friend up in the Norwalk area said his favorite was Jim's Pizza Box in Milan Anybody tried it ? Jim's Pizza Box in Milan is very good. They also have a restaurant in Huron. In Huron, I prefer the Pizza House. We have ordered Pizza House to be delivered to different outdoor bars in the summer. Nice evenings listening to live music, sitting by the water, and eating pizza.

Have you noticed any difference in the Milan location pre fire vs. post fire? I thought maybe I did notice a difference, but it was over 5 years between having it before vs. after, so hard to know if that's an accurate perception.

I thought maybe I did notice a difference, but it was over 5 years between having it before vs. after, so hard to know if that's an accurate perception. We haven't noticed a different in the food . . . but the restaurant is definitely nicer. The game room area is smaller - just games that are off the dining area. They have added a private dining area for meetings and parties. I like the new layout better. Plus the restrooms are much nicer. My mother has a group of friends that meet once a week at different restaurants, and Jim's of Milan is a favorite spot for them. The variety in the menu is very appealing to the group of 70+ year olds. Pizza is a favorite, but so is the taco salad, as well as the soup and sandwiches!

Tried Bruno's Pizza in Willard. Nothing special I would not put it in the running for best pizza in the area. I agree, the Bruno's in Marblehead is nothing special either.

Tried Coppertop Pizza in Ashland, what a waste of money this was one of the worst I've tried. Pizza was under cooked and doughy after tasting the sauce I don't think it would have been good even if cooked all the way. We both took about four-five bites out of a piece and through the rest out. Think the cook needs some cooking lessons. Big thumbs down from me.

After having tried both the Pizza Dock and Peppy’s Pizza in Fredericktown I would eat either one again if I lived in that area but I would not make either a destination to go back. Peppy’s has a dine in area Pizza Dock just one small booth at the counter. I liked Pizza Dock sauce a little more. Neither would make my top 20, they were not bad just average pizza.

I know that’s the way we look at taste and opinions, mine is always right so yours must be wrong. By the way I have had pizza from the Post in the past and don’t remember it being anything special. After a day at the Medina Antique Mall we went out for pizza. Went to Antonio's Pizza in Medina I was told was very good. When we tried it we thought it was just average at best. A step up from say a bad Pizza Hut type pizza but not great by any means. Nice looking wavy crust rim around it, guess they tried to make it look like grandma’s apple pie. Have not tried every pizza in Medina but I would say you would be much better off going to Courthouse Pizzeria than Antonio’s after having both. Courthouse is very good Antonio’s average. We almost tried Master Pizza in Medina, say’s it’s Detroit style, anybody know what that means? Made a trip back to Medina while there tried that Detroit Style pizza at Master Pizza, it kind of reminded me of Besta Fasta Pizza. It had that tangy style sauce almost spaghetti sauce like. It was decent glad we tried it. Not near the top of my list but I would say its worth checking out it's just a little different than the average pizza out there. If you go to the Antique Mall it's right across the road you can see it from the parking lot.

Like to try either that Dominic's Italian Restaurant or Santosuossos' Pizza has anybody tried that one ?

Disappointing to here the Village Pizza House in Attica closed down. We've lost too many mom and pop places to the big chains. Village Pizza House in Attica has since reopened as Smitty's Pizza
