First 3 games are very tough. Nice schedule all around. UCLA game got easier with O’Neal being ruled out with a heart problem

Holtmann just landed a commitment from EJ Liddell, illinois’ Mr. Basketball last season. That now gives him 3 top 50 players in this class, including the top pg DJ Carton. Adding those 3 to the players that will be returning and OSU basketball is looking very good.

I most care about Big East basketball, so I am excited to see how Creighton fares against Holtmann, the former Butler coach. Creighton was the only team last season to beat Villanova when their starters were at full-strength.

With the commitment of Liddel, Holtmann's 2019 class is now the 4th ranked class in the country.

OSU v UC on November 7. First regular season meeting since 1921. One thing I did not like about Thad was his reluctance to schedule other Ohio schools that had a chance of beating the Buckeyes. I think he thought it would hurt him in recruiting. I like this change.

What’s going on with Potter? Left. Saw the writing on the wall that he wasn’t going to get much PT. And his brother already said it won’t affect his commitment before someone asks

He wanted to be a stretch 4 and was only gonna be Wessons back up at the 5. It really hurts from a depth standpoint,,,we're gonna be playing without a center whenever wesson gets in foul trouble. Kyle Young and Jadean Lee are gonna get a ton of minutes,,,or maybe we'll play more 3 guard look than previous years.

Both teams got off to slow starts but Ohio state did pull away a bit, going up by 16 at one point. Washington and Muhammad played well for their first games and Kyle Young looked much improved as well. Holtmann just knows how to get it out of his players.

A year ago JJ Sullenger was quoted as saying OSU could win a National Championship within 3 years, I initially thought that was a bit far fetched. After seeing last years team playing at the level that they did with essentially one high end player and a bunch of nobodies ,,,give Holtmann 3 high end guys on his roster surrounded by more serviceable talent and he's going to have our program on the brink of doing it .

Think about this... assuming no transfers, this entire team comes back next year with the exception of CJ Jackson but then add to it those 3 highly ranked freshmen. Holtmann is putting together some nice pieces.
It’ll be interesting to see this team this year once they get into the big ten schedule, I think they were picked to finish toward the bottom of the league.

Limited size could really hurt. And I did not see guy tonight that looked like they can jump out of the gym to make up for the size. Rebounding with some of the better teams will be a focus.

Blocking out and desire are the 2 biggest factors in rebounding. You didn't see LeDee jump?? By the end of the season, as he gains experience, he will be playing much more. They had no more size last year.
Ohio State was picked to finish 14th last year, 12th this year. When will the so called experts take into account that Holtmann might be the best coach in the Big Ten. Could Izzo have done what Holtmann did last year or will do this year with A LOT LESS talent than Izzo has?

They lose Jackson, but gain the #2 ranked PG in the 2019 class. AND the #8 and #9 ranked PFs in the country to help in rebounding.

Checking last season stats, 3 players shared 17+ rebounds a game that need to be replaced.

They lost 48 points, which is harder to replace?

Another Buckeye win and the advantage in rebounds.

Solid win, I read that was creighton’s first non conference home loss since 2015 so it’s not an easy place to play. Holtmann just knows how to get it done. This team plays great defense, all 5 players on the court seem to buy in to his defensive philosophy. Muhammad looks like another Aaron Craft type player but with more offense.

Watching last night there may be some concern about KW's mobility in guarding the switches. HE sat a lot late in that game and is wasn't from fouls.

Watching last night there may be some concern about KW's mobility in guarding the switches. HE sat a lot late in that game and is wasn't from fouls. You can say that about most big men not being able to guard switches or on perimeter well. The matchup last night just didn’t fit him. I also read that he was battling the flu too, you could tell from tip off he didn’t seem right.
