A couple of times I saw him hacking and hacking into a towel when on the bench.
Creighton was one of the best teams at setting picks I've seen. On the other hand, Ohio State sets lousy picks. The picker rolls before the ball bandler gets to the pick or he doesn't dribble close enough to the pick for the pick to do any good.
Big Ten teams won't have an offense that has 4 guards and a center that does nothing but set picks at the 3-point line.

Ohio State didn't make Thursday's AP Top 25 this week and Buffalo was 25th. LOL

Ohio State is ranked #1 in the first new NET(NCAA Evaluation Tool). That will replace the RPI and in its place will be used as a tool by the Selection Committee to pick and seed teams in the NCAA Tournament field.
Also, 5 of the top 8 teams are from the Big Ten. Eight of the Top 20 are Big Ten teams.

Loss against Syracuse didn’t surprise. The zone wasn’t so tough but once get inside couldn’t finish over size. I interviewed ahrens and Washington before this season, this team is gritty and won’t back down from any team. They will go through growing pains but will be fun to watch. Man I can’t wait to watch next years freshman tho.

Cuse was very good. Very deep. Had 3 guys foul out and didn't miss a beat.

Playing against Syracuse zone is equivalent to playing the triple option in football. You must file it and move on. Jackson has not shot well and that’s why is out there. B1G is going to be a grind night in and out

Ohio State actually played pretty well until this like 2-3 minute span in the second half where the wheels just fell off suddenly. Like everyone else said though, just move on from that stupid zone. I hate watching a whole game of zone, like watching paint dry for me.
Hopefully Mohammad(spelling?) isn’t out too long with that shoulder injury. Gonna give Washington more minutes these next few games.

Watching Ohio State thump on UCLA. The most interesting thing I saw. There were four women sitting at the coaches end of the UCLA bench with Steve Alford.

Ohio state loses 3 starters from last year(Williams I’ll count as a starter) and they’re still 11-1 right now. Holtmann is one hell of a coach.

Ohio State lost almost 60ppg from last year, including the Big Ten Player of the year.
Last year Diop averaged 19.8. This year they have seven players averaging at least 7.0
The team is in the top 25 in scoring and scoring margin and top 20 in defense and 8th in shooting defense in the country.

Crazy thing is he and his assistants have these guys playing like an NCAA 2nd/3rd round team once again. Amazing job of molding a bunch of semi average/ good players into an over achieving hustling group. I absolutely didn't think we'd be much this year with what we lost,,then Potter defects to Wisc 3 games into the season---what happens it opens playing time up for the freshman who are now developing and contributing. Future is bright.

Evidence of what you say is the older Wesson, Andre. He has come a LONG way since he was a Freshman. Many thought Matta just gave him a scholarship to assure his younger, bigger, better brother would sign with Ohio State.

Future is bright. It's difficult to draw the prime, blue chip athletes to Ohio State in basketball, when the Duke's and North Carolina's of the world have a built-in advantage with their storied history. As you point out, Holtmann coaches his kids up to levels of expectancy, no one thinks they are capable of.

Holtmann can build teams similar to how Villanova(even though they’re a little down this year) and Virginia and Gonzaga build their teams. Just hard nosed kids who play more than just one year(for the most part), play smart, great defense, etc. Those teams consistently are in the top 10 and top programs without 20 McDonald’s all Americans on their teams.

If Holtmann can get the the high 4 star players and the now and again 5 star player from Ohio he'll do better than Top 10. They are hard after Zach Lovejoy in the 2020 class from Galia Academy, a 7-footer. The 49th best player and #8 Center in the country in his class.

Big game on Saturday vs MSU I haven't seen a ton of MSU on TV,,will be a great test for OSU. Little trivia,,,MSU player Xavier Tillman and Duane Washington were team mates at Grand Rapids Christian HS for 3 years. I saw them play one year when I was up there visiting relatives who had kids at GRCHS as well. My nephew is a friend of both and a former classmate. I'm hoping for a photo opp of the three together on Saturday. I'll post if I'm able to pull it off.
Back to the game, should be a great atmosphere. I have a hunch Urban and the team will be presenting the Rose Bowl trophy to the school at Halftime. Although they may wait until the students are back from break to do so. Can't wait either way to see Holtmann and Izzo battle it out.

Tough gsme, Ohio state had their chances. Just couldn’t keep their lead, they took a few bad shots and some mental mistakes. Still a young team overall though when the majority of the players are sophomores and freshmen.

Did Jackson get hurt?
Anyone else tired of watching Izzo’s teams get away with little things that add up? His post players switch pivot feet all the time without traveling calls

I think Jackson was coming off the flu. We didn't play really well imo. Got next to nothing from Jackson, Woods, Jallow and Andre Wesson. Add to that MSU is kind of a mismatch for us with Ward and Tillman on the court together. This was a game where not having Micah Potter really hurt us. Got out rebounded by 9 and next to no offensive boards. Kaleb's 5th foul call was pretty weak. But we needed to bring our A game and that did not happen. OSU is a year away from being top 10 worthy and possibly more with the inbound class of recruits.

Any team that scores 50 points and shoots 75% from the field in the 2nd half is going to win.

I would say any team that gives up 50 pts and allows a team to shoot 75% is going to lose.

OSU up 3 with the ball in the final 2 minutes,,,and then Rutgers does everything right and OSU does everything wrong. Kaleb Wesson never touched the ball at that point the rest of the game. Big mistake as we missed 2 contested three pointers and a 2 pointer. Gotta get the ball to your strong inside presence at that critical point of the game. They let that one get away imo with poor execution.
