Hey sportsjock, 38-0 without JT 36-5 with JT
You must be a Michigan fan since you long for the JT era of beat downs of 31-0 to Clemson, losing by 100 to sorry Iowa, etc. JT would have been 35-6 if Dwayne didn’t come in and save OSU with his arm vs Mich last year. Are you still salty he beat your Wolverines?
If Burrow can quarterback sneak for TDs, why can't Haskins?
Burrow is close to Haskins as a passer, but a 100% better runner. No one fears Haskins as a runner, but opponents MUST account for Burrow as a runner in their game plan, even though he's a Pro Style QB like Haskins.

Any Buckeye fan has to recognize the above stats to be most disturbing. I made a comment several games ago, this team is becoming increasingly, one dimensional offensively. That is even more the case today.

Haskins comp 175 att 242 yards 2331 td 28 Int 4
Borrow comp 104 att 195 yards 1415 td 6 int 2
This is “close” as a passer?
If you were well read you would know that LSU is run first, run second team.

Who’s the hater now willard?
Don't talk without knowledge. I supported all Ohio State starters and coaches last year. I support all Ohio State starters and coaches this year. Don't let facts confuse you. I save my hate for the likes of Osama biin Laden and the Taliban.
In the second half of games against TCU, Penn State, Indiana and Minnesota, they are giving up an average of 8 points and 140 yards. It's really the first half defense that's been problematic.

Nope, you always throw stats out there and there is no way any stats back your claim “Burrow is close to Haskins as a passer.”
"close" when you play in a run first, run second offense. He just led his team to a dominating win over a Top Five team. Haskins won't have a chance to do that unless Ohio State makes the playoffs. Even you would admit, like Dumbo opines, "big wins" is the most impotant stat for a QB.

It’s not Haskins fault that he doesn’t get to play a top 5 team

Good observation! I think perhaps this kinda underscores the fact this defense is loaded with youth and inexperience and they go into halftime, ready to be schooled by Schiano and rest of the defensive coaches.
Let's all hope we will be seeing a full games production soon.

Oh, but he can, if he leads this team to The Play Offs.
Defense was missing Bosa Arnette Harrison Gonna need these guys to beat MSU and UM in my opinion. Our Oline concerns me as does 3/4 of our defense , at least the ones who played yesterday. I almost feel like Minny owned both LOS yesterday.

Minnesota was without 3 of their 5 best players. Really it comes down to the leaders on this team getting the message acrossed that they are going to get every team’s best shot. Moving Jordan to center has not been a good move. They are very predictable when it’s a run or a RPO. There’s a tight-end in the game. Would like to see them run more out of their 4 and 5 receiver sets (the 5th receiver is usually a back that they could motion into the backfield)

Would like to see an asserted effort at getting our two great running backs finding the seem again. Double TE's and how about an extra back as a lead blocker. Love what the Bengals are doing with great success, utilizing big DE Sam Hubbard as a lead blocker on certain goaline situations...he's blowing big holes. Surely we have that one stud that can lead the charge for the Buckeyes in short distance situations. Don't know how Jordan is grading out at center, but he might be more effective in his previous role. Again, hoping to see the return of Sr. Branden Bowen, his 6-7 320 presence at tackle.

Doesn’t matter who is lead blocking on a short yardage situation when your guards are being knocked 3 yards into the backfield
JT Barrett ever rack up 867 yards of offense against back-to-back Big-10 opponents like Haskins just did?
Burrows didn't beat GA yesterday boss the Tiger D did. Namely the run D. Did you even watch the game? Burrows played well, it was fun to watch, but his arm talent isn't anywhere near Haskins. No one in college football has Haskins arm.
This is the impossibility of the existence of nothing.
when your team has The Golden Arm and goes 6-deep at WR...and you are upset because you want the QB to run more...i just don't know how to talk to that kind of person
you can't argue with crazy
This is the impossibility of the existence of nothing.

Even though it doesnt "fit the system" I wouldn't be upset if they scrapped the zone read option altogether. Line up with some "I" formations to pound the rock. Obviously we dont have a full back type player but that gets the run vs. Def match up back to a 1 for 1 in the blocking scheme.

I haven't seen that happen. We have a QB that is borderline on the play-action and zero threat to run a motion pitch. QB draw. Makes the offense easy to read.

I agree about Jordan moving to center, I think he should’ve stayed where he was his first two seasons and put someone else at center. I know Brady Taylor has been injured so I’m sure that has a lot to do with it though.

Tom Brady is easy to read.

The O-line has protected Haskins better than any other Big Ten line.

The Zone read option has been 99% scrapped. Just run a few times in hopes of keeping the Opps D honest, to no success.
For some reason the coaches are scared to death to put Haskins under center. To run a QB sneak or make a hand off from an I formation.
I like Haskins and the receivers so much, forget about trying to improve the running game and throw the ball 80% of the time. Maybe then when they run the ball they might fool someone, they can't block anyone.

I know Brady Taylor played well as the center snapper and looked decent this spring and the other guy was Josh Myers the 5* freshman who like Brady has the size, athleticism and good feet to play the position. both are 6-5 and Brady is 300 pds. and Myers weighs in at 310.
Perhaps there has become too much of an obsession to giving Michael Jordan every opportunity to win the Rimmington Award, that would give the Award to a Buckeye for the 3rd consecutive year. (a tremendous recruiting tool)
As a few of you pointed out, the OL is doing a pretty damn good job pass blocking for Haskins. I would love to sit down and just watch game videos to focus on and study the OL. Maybe the shortcomings is the guards are not getting the job done. We have always had good pulling guards, but I don't know if they are getting it done or not.

I don't get sportsjock, is he a troll?
I was watching the Browns/Chargers yesterday and noticed that the Chargers had no trouble running with a Statue (aka Philip Rivers) playing QB. The Chargers have the 4th best rushing attack in the NFL with a Statue playing QB The Patriots have the 8th best rushing attack in the NFL with a Statue playing QB Tom Brady and Philip Rivers both make Dwayne Haskins look like the 2nd coming of LeBron James, that's how slow they are
Ohio State can't run it because the O-Line plays like a bunch of wusses. The Chargers and Patriots O-Lines play like men, Ohio State's O-Line lets undersized TCU, Indiana, and Minnesota blow them back into the backs. Isiah Prince couldn't even pass block last game. Slow feet. Maybe Urban should use 280-290 lbs linemen instead of 315 across the board. Big fat, slow footed softies. I want quick, powerful men playing the O-Line.
