I'll stand by my post from last week. Vermilion is the real-deal. They have 3 guards that play stellar defense and ALL their varsity players are ball handlers. Even the JV players all handle the ball well. This reduces turnovers and makes for some easy transition baskets. I don't see it being any different when we go there to play. There ya go. All good coaches will tell you that building a top HS team starts with 5 guards that can handle the ball and shoot 3-pointers.

man I think sailors are best team too I just don’t feel it’s head and shoulders above everyone else. theyve been a handful of minutes away from losing to several teams and pulled it out late which is what good teams do but i do feel they get beat 1-2 times in the league

One slip up in the league, possibly. Two? No way if they stay healthy because I don’t think we’ve seen them near their best yet. Hurd (PG) is finally in shape after breaking his ankle during football season and is just now rounding into basketball form. When he was first injured they thought there was no way he would even play this season, so it has been a process. Pena (post) is still working back into shape after coming back from an ankle injury in football that forced him to miss the first month of the season. Miller (wing) missed time recently with an injury as well.
They destroyed Huron yesterday for the first 3 quarters before clearing the bench and started to show glimpses of what they can be. Of course, Huron was missing their 8 TCU recruits due to hunting season or suspension or transfers back and forth to Margaretta or whatever so they didn’t offer much resistance, but I don’t think the Sailors have shown their best yet. Ten days off until they start their second half swing through the Bay against PC, so hopefully they keep everyone healthy and find a way to stay sharp and add a few more wrinkles.

now that’s a good post you’re right though. One loss in league is the maximum.

Once Vermilion goes to the Lake Division which River school will move up to take their place? Because Hopewell-Loudon will join next year and that would make the River have 9 basketball teams. Bay will have 6 and Lake will then have 7, it would make sense to have one River school move up to the Bay division to have 7-7-8 in basketball. If one of the River teams don’t move up, then why change anything for the bay and lake divisions? Why would hurt to have only six teams in Lake division than to have only six teams in the Bay division?

the numbers game (enrollment) isn't always the best way to do this..lakota would get killed in the bay in most sports. leave them where they are at.. gibsonburg would be better suited in the bay than lakota

divisions in ohio are created by the “numbers game” or enrollment. Should play schools your size in league simple as that
talent comes and goes

It was agreed upon that it would be easier for the Bay schools to play up and down for non-divisional games so that's why the Lake will be 7. As pointed out, the River schools are set. They aren't moving into the Bay because they don't belong there for geographical or competitive reasons. Lakota may have the enrollment but they're a River school.

Final: Huron 44 Western Reserve 42. Was at the game, No one on Huron quit. Western led 10-0 early, End of 1 10-10. 20-17 Western at half. 32-30 Western after 3. Bizarre ending to the game, After a Tiger missed a free throw of a 1 and 1, Western rebounds, runs the final 15 seconds down, Had opportunities for easier shots to tie the game, But passed the ball back out, Then had to settle for an unbalanced 3, air ball at the buzzer. I didn't get that. Very even game, Maybe Huron has finally woke up.

I've watched the end of the game 4 times per bcsn... trying to see what you're seeing.. didn't see anyone "had an easy" shot.. good close out defense..

I'm old and trying to remember what happened. Now that I got to see it on BCSN, There was 23 seconds left, Western wasted. Credit Huron's defense for not letting them get a good look.

To my knowledge only one player has quit. You may be thinking of Leh and Hinckley as well as Pickett. Leh and Hinckley did not quit, they are currently serving OHSAA mandated suspensions due to the urinal incident and are still with the team. Margaretta is reportedly seeking legal action and this has extended the suspensions. Pickett did not make it to try outs this year. He was seen in the woods on that day and reportedly was quoted in the school newspaper saying "The woods will always come before sports".
Go Tigers

Go Polar Bears Hey Dump, Leh is presently leading Margaretta into a very successful season. Hinckley came down with the weasel flu. As usual, your facts are as wimpy and laughable as your threats to me via PM.
