You guys are sounding like some of the JJHuddle get togethers at state tournament time (football) in the "OLD" days.

I took Debate in college. I know what resigning sounds like. Not much of a beer drinker. How about a lobster dinner and a bottle of Dom Perignon at Sky Way East. I'll introduce you to my brother who manages the place. He too enjoys a good debate. I bet John adds 20% to your check If he does, I'll squeal on him to Buzz.

No chance I would be there. I am more of a steak on the grill guy and champagne is never on my menu. Then invite us to your house for steaks on your grill, when it warms up. I'll bring the steaks from Sky Way. Their secret, they age them for two weeks in their cooler, before they use them. I can get a good deal from brother John. I'll drink the beverage of your choice. How does that sound to you fanofthegame? How about ohioraised, maybe he'd like to come? Should be invite the wives? Let me know a couple weeks in advance, so I can get my order in for the steaks with enough lead time. fan, quote this post so dude can read it. Since he chooses not to read my posts, but will read them when they're quoted by others. I’m in I can always use more friends.

I just heard that Schwemeley already told his players he's not coming back.

It'd be a shame if he didn't.

It'd be a shame if he didn't. I've heard different stories but the Shelby season has had many distractions.

I heard over the weekend that Barry Eagen is out at River Valley and Schwemeley is the number one candidate.

I heard over the weekend that Barry Eagen is out at River Valley and Schwemeley is the number one candidate. This would indicate that it has been in the works for some time. Already had plans to let Eagan go and reached out to Schwemeley about the job.

Pleasant led by 5 late in the 3rd but Johnstown scored the last 4 points of the 3rd quarter and the first 8 points of the 4th to seal Pleasant's fate. Down 16-6 after the 1st and 20-8 early in the second, the Spartans finally woke up and played fast and furious to cut the lead to 27-25 at the half and then build the 5 point lead in the 3rd. It must of taken it all out of them as the great cuts and pick and rolls of the 2nd and 3rd were replaced by passing the ball around the perimeter and settling for long 3 point attempts in the 4th. Refs really let them play all game. I doubt anyone would have fouled out even if they played another 4 quarters.

I heard over the weekend that Barry Eagen is out at River Valley and Schwemeley is the number one candidate. He was supposed to go to Kenton 4 years ago when he took the job there then backed out. Seriously if I were River Valley I would keep looking.

It'd be a shame if he didn't. The real shame was not leaving 4 years ago when he took the Kenton job.

Seriously if I were River Valley I would keep looking. Didn't Kenton fall apart because his wife did not get a job there? I had heard they were both getting jobs there and then one of them did not develop so the whole thing was turned down. Wasn't he already at River Valley once? Maybe that is why they like him. You know, with the football coaches that have left and way Schwemeley is being talked about, you can't help but wonder if the problem is Shelby and not the coaches.

Schwemeley went to high school at River Valley so that is probably where a big part of the interest lies.

Ok homewrecker. Why don’t you give us some reasons that Schwembley is a bad coach instead of saying he is

I don’t have a Little Johnny on the team, I’m not vested in the program. I just report what a have heard from people and observed for myself. I’ve seen and heard a lot over the last 5-6 years from friends with kids that play/played under him. I’ve seen a poorly run program with my own eyes. I told you guys awhile back that he wouldn’t be back, everyone thought I was crazy when I said it. Maybe the next coach will be better maybe he’ll be worse, myself I think the change was overdue.

Then why do other schools want him? Why don't administrators at those schools know what you know? I have an understanding of what homewrecker sees. Schwemley is a good X's and O's coach. His teams usually win the games they are supposed to, and they do a fine job of avoiding embarrassing losses. This has led to an average W/L during his tenure of about 13-7 or 14-8, however you want to represent it. There is a trend where there is an unequal balance between talent going into the program and the results of the program. This is why, as a good coach, Schwemley only winds up with 12-15 wins most seasons. Retention is an issue, so he loses players. However, with what he has left, he can create a pretty competent team. His X's and O's are good, but the soft skills are wobbly. I do not criticize homewrecker's observations. I have issues with where Shelby would go next for a coach, but that is a hard question that I don't expect any of us to know. I can see why Kenton or River Valley wants Schwemley...look at their programs. Kenton has an above .500 record most years because they play the Little Sisters of the Poor for their 13 non-league games. They only have four sectional titles, one of which came when they had the near 7 footer Michigan State recruit, Garrick Sherman. I don't know about River Valley, but home ties must be helpful. I imagine they aren't historically anything worth sneezing at. In the eyes of programs like that (if River Valley is hapless like I assume), then they would happily take an average record of 14-8. In Kenton's case, they could hope to win more than 2-3 league games each year.

I'm hopeful that he goes to River Valley, so we can hear on this thread what they think in a couple years. He's in administration now, what would he do at RV. I doubt that he goes there my guess is he will stay in the job he has.

Isnt that his job at Shelby? Assistant Principal to Gies?

Is this the final season in the MOAC for Buckeye Valley basketball? According to Arbiter, for the 2019-2020 season they have scheduled very few MOAC teams; so I'd probably be willing to guess that the answer to your question is: Yes. link
