Let's not confuse "body type" with interest. If a kid chooses to play football his "body type" is going to look much different by his senior year because of the strength and conditioning programs than if he chooses to go out for soccer, cross country, or golf. Most kids will change "body type" over the course of 4 years but I understand what you are saying about how a football s&c program could have different results for some.

Soccer players are expected to take part in weight training. You're kidding yourself if you don't think stronger soccer players don't have an advantage over lighter players.

Ontario girls lose 4-2 to DI Toledo area power Perrysburg.
Lost for the season for Ontario with a knee injury is 2 time 1st Team All-Ohio Amanda Nething. Lost in this game to a back injury was 2 year starter in goal Emma Ruhe. Bria Meisse also had to leave the game under concussion protocol and a cut over her eye. That's 3 out of 4 of Ontario's best players.

You are correct, Nething is out. You can't replace a 2 time 1st Team All-Ohio player. Thus someone must step up and become the new best player. IMO Alexis Bise is doing that.
No one has given me anything of assuredness on Amanda, so I don't want to speculate.

The DII Sectional will be even more difficult this year for the boys and girls, with Madison playing down in DII this year for the first time.

Ontario girls lose 3rd straight, albeit to solid sides. MOAC race opened up as Buckeye Valley def. Ontario, 4-1. Ontario, CFork, BValley each have one loss now. Injuries finally taking a toll on Ontario?

Lexington boys are currently 5-2-1 with losses to 5-1 Lima Shawnee and 7-1 Ottawa Glandorf. Lexington also recently received votes in the State Polls and are currently starting multiple 9th and 10th grade players.

The refs at the St. Peter's - Galion girls game last night were absolutely abysmal. Galion got beat up (physically) pretty badly, up to (and including) a probable broken collar bone. I was there.......I saw it. Mansfield Senior - Galion a few days ago was just about as bad. It must be a "Mansfield" thing........just sayin'.

OHSAA is very hard up for soccer refs & I know that some first-years are getting decent varsity matches already. As a whole, NW Ohio calls a tighter match than NE Ohio. Mansfield refs tend to be more of the NE variety. Unfortunately, some games are called too loosely.

Boys - Bay 2, Ontario 0
Bay's high school school soccer pitch has an artificial surface. The first time they've played on one this year. Playing Cleveland area schools and on an artificial surface will help getting ready for the tournament.

I figured them to be almost a lock to win the MOAC with CF coming in second but that doesn't seem to be the case currently.

Lexington may have some success in boys soccer for a while as they have a good collection of younger players.
