Can't ever remember the OHSAA moving a State Championship back a week. Talk about a nightmare situations for Coaches,Athletes,Fans and AD's. Let alone CC is such a schedule based sport, athletes are peaking in training now, not next week. You can't rework the course to make it work?

This is probably more of an inconvenience than it is an issue for peaking. Most runners still going at this stage can handle a week.

What sucks about it is the NXR is now the same weekend as the State Meet. NXR - The National Cross Country Regional race in Terre Haute Indiana. The best from IN,IL,OH,MI,MO race there to qualify for Nationals in Portland Oregon. It will suck without OH teams being represented Ohio has always had some top individuals and teams. I know Shelby has already planned to drop NXR to run at the state meet. I know those boys talked about going to NXR since last year. Big disappointment is in the OHSAA for not have a back up location for the state meet so it could be held on the same day as scheduled.

The entire state has been rained on for a week. The only dry back up location would have been out of state. I'm sure this decision was not made lightly. Had there been and reasonable and neutral option they would have taken it.

Yes I'm sure you are quite right. My post was more in frustration and disappointment for the boys in Ohio. I agree the OHSAA probably looked at that option first before postponing. For as large as this program is in the state of Ohio it is for the most part ran very well.

Oh what a differences 1 week can make. Temperatures predicted in the low 30's during most of the race times.

Not trying to be a smart*** but his brother told me that months ago. Was he considering a change of heart?

Not trying to be a smart*** but his brother told me that months ago. Was he considering a change of heart? I never said when he decided, I only told you that he has committed. His brother is at Louisville now but Kyle just took a visit there before the state meet.
