Any Willard Fans want to throw in their two cents, I read in the paper that Margaretta thinks they are a playoff team this year and the starting Qb's dad was a hell of an athlete in high school. Other than that I don't have anything to support my prediction.

I watched Margaretta scrimmage Seneca East. Numbers wise and speed wise Willard and the Polar Bears match up pretty well. Willard's line will average about 280 and all started at some point last year. The line of scrimmage will be won by Willard as the Polar Bears line is average at best. Margaretta does have an advantage with a very tall receiver on the outside who they like to throw jump balls to. Willards D line will be harassing the Polar Bears QB (who is also very average) the entire game as Seneca East did in the scrimmage. Willard, while not very deep at the majority of positions (other than line)impressed me in the few scrimmages I was able to make. They execute Coach Devier's offense very well for the overall lack of speed and athleticism they posses. I say the score is Willard 30 Margaretta 14.

Most not genetically connected to the Flashes I talk to have Margaretta by about 2 TDs.
Will this year be different for Willard? We'll know soon.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I haven't seen a MHS game since the early 2000's (I am not counting the 5 minutes of the St. Marys game I watched last year, awful), I may come out and watch friday, love the "genetically connected" line.

With the low numbers Willard was having in recent years, if the new coach was able to improve that in the upper classes it could be possible to have an immediate impact on their wins. Otherwise It could take a year or two to get this turned around.

Other than that I don't have anything to support my prediction. Good Lord. If Margaretta folks really do believe the first claim, we might want to do extensive air/water/soil testing of the area surrounding the duck pond - people seem to be hallucinating. If the fact that the starting QB's dad was a good HS athlete is the foundation of Margaretta's hopes, then maybe all the folks in Castalia really need is a big hug.

I like what I saw...But history repeats itself...very good running back from Willard Billy Robinson broke his ankle at the duck pond many years ago, done for his Senior season. Same thing happened tonight, senior running back broken ankle done for the year for the Flashes :-(
