Nice!! Huge win! Hats off to the players and coaches for the preparation and focus that went into this resounding win. Wins like this over Madison are rare.

The question is whether Shelby is that good or is Madison really missing something? Curious what week 2 will bring.

Well I can tell you this Madison was inside shelbys 30 5-7 times and just couldn't finish drives. There was a point where Madison was about to go up 14-7 then they fumbled. Madison will be alright they just need to finish. They showed that they could move the ball down the field now they need to finish. I really don't think Shelby is that great probably a 7-3 team. If Shelby didn't have Armstrong they would be probably a losing team so they better keep him healthy. I like what I see from a much smaller Madison team. Now we're going to go blow out River valley next week. All I can say is this reminded me of when Madison and lex played last year where lex was good but they just fell apart well that's what Madison did last night

If Armstrong stays healthy there are not 3 teams on their schedule who can beat them. The only 2 with a prayer are Lex and Bellevue. Problem Lex has is that everyone will be taking them seriously this season unlike at the beginning of last year. I don't see them surprising anyone this year. They went 0-4 against the teams that mattered.

What I saw was a team that looks to be in a down year and everyone wants their best player to save them and he can't without help. ON the other side I saw a football TEAM. I know it was only one game, and anyone can make excuses about one game. Madison was not good for 3 quarters of the night and TA did not look like an SEC skilled player. Shelby looked good in their first game, had balance and room to grow on both sides of the ball. It did seem the play calling changed in the 2nd half which I thought was slowed then down a little. Lots of football left to play.

Leave it to hudson to not give credit where credit is due, but instead let everyone on the thread know that Shelby is "not that great" and Madison had their chances. Please. For those reading this thread, don't be fooled by hudson27 comments...by halftime Shelby was FIRMLY in control. Yes, Madison could have went up 14-7 but they didn't. They are HS kids and HS kids make mistakes. Good teams find a way to overcome mistakes. Shelby had their share of miscues...Armstrong fumbled and gave the ball to Madison on Shelby's side of the field for example...but their defense picked him up and kept Madison from scoring. It was apparent 1) Madison threw everything but the kitchen sink to stop the run and "Shorty" Brooks still went over 100yds (or was awfully close) and pretty sure Armstrong did as well and 2) Shelby's offensive/defensive lines were far superior to Madison's. It is just one week, but for that one week...the last two years...Shelby was far and away better than Madison and have had better game plans that were executed. Not sure how hudson can try and spin it any other way.

It makes me shake my head when people call TA an "SEC player". IMO, a Kentucky player would be more accurate.,Does any other school in the SEC give him a ride?

SportsNut, Hudson will always be a Ram believer/excuse-maker regardless of who they play.

Hudson, your insight as a fan of the game can be interesting but your posts after a Madison loss are nothing but pure entertainment. :-D

Let's be honest, I wanted to see how hudson would follow up on the game with that loaded with that loaded question. Don't pass the salt, because he is salty enough.
Madison has better receivers? Yeah, I'd rather have the QB who can locate the ball regardless of the receiver.

Loaded question or not, Hudson needs to learn you get no points for being inside the 30. 😄

All I'm saying is if shelbys defense was a very good defense Madison wouldn't have been in there territory all night. I'm not saying Shelby isn't the better team because they are go look at my picks on the occ I picked Shelby. Also by the way yes another school from the sec gave TA a full ride offer Tennessee and was also offered by Michigan and msu and notre dame . I mean if he wasn't then they wouldn't offer him. I mean I don't think Armstrong is anything other then a Mac qb for real. He is a great athlete but I wouldn't call him a great qb . However the college coaches must see something in both players because they want them both so.

Tyrell isn't going to look great when he doesn't have a oline blocking for him or he is double teamed all night . I mean when your the only really good player and a team keys on you how good are you going to look. Tyrell is a great player one of the best I've ever watched in Richland county. Look at manns from senior I think he is just a sub par player but penn state offered him and many more to come.

Many teams can move the ball but not all teams can score when they get close. That's all I was saying. Give some credit to the Shelby defense for making sure they did not give up points. Not all college offers are full rides.

Every year there are high school teams that have only one really good player and most are not D1 recruits. My feeling has always been if you have a D1 recruit, you should know it every game regardless of the score. What ever level Armstrong ends up at, and I have not idea where that will be, You know every game he is the guy colleges are looking at. You do not need to build Tyrell up, we all know what he is capable of doing, but he did none of it, going either direction, on Thursday. Point is, give credit to the team that played well & won and not make excuses for the team that lost. The better team won and as you said, even you predicted it.

Yeah I'm going to trust the head football coaching teams of Ohio state, UNC, Iowa state, and others before the guy that took three years to clean up his grammar. What delusions of grandeur do you have? What is your vendetta against Shelby? This is all rhetorical, because I can't trust you to give an unbiased slant on anything.

Always happy to see local kids gets recruited but I also know that for every 10 kids recruited for football maybe 1 is legit.
