Orange beats Harding 69-54, after first quarter harding played them about even. Liked what I seen from couple players. Watched Anderson try to trip a player on purpose so he may need to check that. Harding should be competitive even if forward bottom Moac

Clear fork down this year? Lex ran past them. And should mention Harding’s best player from last year didn’t o play today. Not sure why, possible injury

Shelby picks up two really nice non-league wins to start the season. Madison is short on talent so that outcome was to be expected. But to bounce back with a returning Lexington Final Four team in your house and pull of a win is a huge momentum boost for this group. I see a lot of balance with this team as they had multiple double figure scorers each night and it isn’t just the kids starting. Lantz came off the bench each night and provides a spark on both ends. Pugh seems to fit in well with the others. If they put forth the hustle and effort I watched in both games this weekend the Whippets will be a fun team to watch this winter.

Shelby is definitely benefiting from the transfer kid. He joins a senior heavy team and is the best player they have against a good Lexington team. But watching that game last night, Lexington is very clearly not the Final Four team from a year ago. I read an article from last nights game that had a quote from the Shelby coach saying they were only 4 weeks into the season. I assume that was a reference to the last 2 seasons where he was waiting for the football players, which was clearly an advantage last night. Does any of the Shelby cross country runners play basketball?

Nope. Schwemley, Amstutz, Gossom, and Stevens all played football but the other regulars don’t play a fall sport.

Big change for them since they didn't make the playoffs this season.

Very different from last year. Both teams played real hard. Tournament atmosphere in Shelby last night. Lex is a veteran team. I believe they only lost 1-2 players off last years team. Physical, good shooters, aggressive D. Both teams will be tough outs this year.

It would be similar to measuring your team by playing Norwalk in Dec 2014 of Willard in Dec 2006. Those teams were not that same as the season before. Lex did lose 2 starters from last years team that didn't come off the floor much. Both teams have experience from last season but what I saw as the difference was the transfer player Shelby has.

Lexington has to find a PG.

Lack of a PG is not why Lex lost. They have people who can handle the ball. Johnston is perfectly fine bringing the ball up the floor. Shelby shot very well in the second half and played outstanding defense.

EVERYONE in Lexington's starting 5 can "bring the ball up the floor". Surely you realize that's only about 10% of a PG's responsibilities. ALSO, 4 players in Lexington's starting lineup has been shooting the ball 2 weeks fewer than Shelby has.

Lex shot pretty darn well in the first half so not sure that is an excuse. They will be just fine. I don’t see them losing more than 4-5 games all year.

Lex did not get all their football and cross country guys until the week of Thanksgiving. I'm friends with a Lex football parent and his son did not practice until then. It was talked about rescheduling the first weekend with Clear Fork and Lex because of football but both coaches did not want to have first game be a league game. I watched the game on tv and it looked like Lex had problems getting into an offense and missed shots in close with contact. They missed a lot in the lane against us also. Their point guard position is very weak. Looks like they are working in guys to figure it out.

Lexington did not shoot as well as Shelby did from any spot on the floor but that is not giving them an excuse. I thought the Shelby team played well for the 2nd game of the year. The Lexington team did not look very good, much like they did the game before at Clear Fork. To bad for them that everyone will be expecting the team that played the Irish in Columbus last year and this team is not the same.

Lex will be just fine. Shelby shot lights out in the second half on there home floor. It's still very early in the season and I agree Lex must solidify the point guard position. I will say the sophomore from Shelby may be a very special player down the road. Could be a very interesting match up come March perhaps in the district.

London did get beat pretty good by BV. It's worth noting that London has two players who recently went on recruiting visits to Ohio State. One was out and the other was playing injured (finished with 4 points). Still a good win though!
