St Paul will be more run heavy than usual this year. 3 Senior running backs that will see plenty of touches. Biggest replacement areas from LY is to find a couple guys on the offensive line plus both inside linebackers on defense.
7 on 7 are great but don’t hold much weight when it comes to live game situations and 11 on 11. St Paul will win the conference again, because of better prepared athletes/coaches. They also have 2 All Ohio video guys In the booth.

Sounds like Cuyahoga Heights is the best chance after Newark Catholic backed out late.

Sounds like Cuyahoga Heights is the best chance after Newark Catholic backed out late. I wonder what their reasoning was for accepting then backing out. I know they had a couple of down seasons, but we’re not a big school only around 40 kids. I believe the neutral site they pick to play Edon will be just about as far as a trip to Norwalk for them. If they had reservations about playing Saint Paul initially they should’ve never took the game. That Newark coach better get some cold fizzy water on his head and straighten his act out.

I know my sons and I want just about any opponent so we have a game to go to after 430 Mass.

Green Wave may not be the stellar team it was at this time, but I can't imagine it would tuck tail...... until now.

Did I hear correctly that South Central had some nice additions to the football team? Two good basketball players?

Talk about a fall for Mapleton. Going from top of the league and playoffs to being picked last.

After what I witnessed tonight (Keystone @ St. Paul) the top spot might not be as certain as many think. UGLY, that’s all I have to say.

Ugly? hummmm...sandbagger New profile just for this comment? Hmmm. O-line play was horrible. Forget about passing this year, maybe something that rolls the QB out or quick stuff because there will be no pocket. Guards are slow pulling to run block and just getting in the way. LB’s, for the most part, we’re nonexistent in pass coverage, run D for LB’s was a little better but not good. RB fumbles and the inability to lead block by the teams “best” RB, WR dropped balls. Would give the offense has a whole a C-.D-line and the secondary were the only bright spots, overall they get a B-. Would be an A- if it were not for the terrible LB play. Sandbagger, no just being truthful. Toy nice try

As I posted earlier this year SP will be more run heavy than normal. I also noted they would need to replace a couple O-line and linebackers that started for them the last 3 years. When you look at area competition I still think SP will be okay. They will improve as the season progresses.
They might be a smaller team than most but if you were at the scrimmage you have to be impressed with the technique and how hard the JV and Freshman groups played. They were really undersized but took it to the Keystone group rather easily.

You are correct, the younger kids were very impressive. They have been at the 7 on 7’s as well. Maybe I’m just used to seeing St. Paul dominate from the opening whistle, IDK. JL’s got his work cut out for him this year that is certain.

What Flyer fans are failing to realize, is that Keystone is a very good football team this year! More than likely, they will win their league. While I agree that this may not be your normal SP team, they will probably squeak out another FC championship.

Here's the preview on them from the Chronicle Telegram. elyria.mynews360.com/news/161519/keystone-wildcats/One thing that amazes me about NSP is how they seem to be physically shrinking from year to year. We are a relatively new family to the school, but I've never seen such a tiny student body from grades 9-12. And I'm not talking about numbers, but a lot of really short skinny kids. Don't get me wrong, I give the kids a lot of credit...they work hard and play hard and I think that will keep them at the top of the conference.
