5:00 January 1st on ESPN
This will be the 15th Rose Bowl appearance for both Ohio State and Washington, which will create a 3 way tie with Stanford for the 3rd most Rose Bowl Appearances behind USC's 34 and Michigan's 20. Ohio State is 7-7 in the Rose Bowl, Washington is 7-6-1, and whoever wins will tie Michigan for the 2nd most Rose Bowl wins at 8 (USC has 25.)
Though it's worth mentioning these numbers don't mean as much in the BCS/Playoff era, when there have been many times that one or both B1G/Pac champs didn't go to the Rose Bowl because they were either playing in a BCS/Playoff game at a different site or because the Rose was used to host non traditional teams in a BCS/Playoff game.
Ohio State leads the all time series against Washington 8-3, and this will be the first time playing each other in the Rose Bowl.

While true for most part, OSU struggled to get to the Rose Bowl from mid-80s until BCS era which started 1998. Bucks lone appearance was classic game against ASU on Jan 1, 1997

Yes, Ohio state did have an 11 season drought of not making the Rose Bowl. Michigan has had 2 longer droughts since the B1G tie in began, including the current one which is now 12 seasons (and would actually be 14 seasons if not for the BCS) But anyway, to the point I was making, if not for the BCS/Playoff, Ohio State would have 5 more Rose Bowl appearances (2002, 2006, 2007, 2014, 2017) and Michigan would have one fewer (2006)

All of these secondary 'New Year's 6' bowls have lost their luster after the inclusion of the CFP system. Now we play the waiting game to see which players decide to sit for the Rose Bowl to reduce NFL Draft risk.

Haskins says he's playing. Dre'mont Jones said he hasn't decided yet.

Ohio State's Heisman Trophy winner, will pick Washington apart. IF Haskins is the Heiman Trophy winner, and his top 4 receivers are gone, why in the heck should be come back?

Haskings = NFL in just one season and will leave as OSU's best qb that any of us have ever seen play in an OSU jersey.

Has anyone heard anything on Austin Mack? Is he playing in the Rose Bowl? Dre'mont made utterances that he was considering sitting, but there hasn't been a word since. Hope he has decided to play for his legendary coach and coach Johnson, one last time.

Haskins as the best ever.... ? I have an argument for Troy Smith in there. His senior season he was clutch, amazing, and did win the Heisman. Haskins has the stats for sure, but I dunno there tommy

Troy Smith's Senior year (Heisman Year) 65.3% (203-311) 2,542 Yards 8.2 Y/A 30 TD 6 INT 161.9 rating 72 rush att, 204 yds, 1 TD (2.8 ypc)
Dwyane "Big Game" Haskins 70.2% (348-496) 4,580 Yards 9.2 Y/A 47 TD 8 INT 175.8 rating 73 rush att, 122 yds, 4 TD (1.7 ypc)
I hope Haskins does NOT win the Heisman. Most Heisman winning QB's are blah in the NFL. The non-winners dominate
Tom Brady Aaron Rodgers Joe Montana Peyton Manning Dan Marino Steve Young Drew Brees Kurt Warner
The great NFL QB's don't win Heisman's. They put that chip on their shoulder that they got snubbed and dominate for 20 years in the NFL
Heisman winning QB's (1970-present day) Baker Mayfield Lamar Jackson Marcus Mariota Jameis Winston Johnny Manziel Robert Griffin III Cam Newton - 3 pro-bowls Sam Bradford Tim Tebow Troy Smith Jason White Carson Palmer - 3 pro-bowls Chris Weinke Danny Wuerffel Charlie Ward Gino Torretta Ty Detmer Andre Ware Vinny Testaverde - 2 pro-bowls Doug Flutie - 1 pro-bowl (14 years after winning the Heisman) Pat Sullivan Jim Plunkett - 0 pro-bowls, but did win 2 super bowls
Troy Smith goes down with Ty Detmer, Sam Bradford, RG3, etc. Just another "who?" to all those born in 2000 or later. "Big Game" Haskins has an arm and can sling it.

I think what made Troy such a rare breed in college and especially his senior year, but also his sophomore and junior year he was able to run and throw, he was also very “clutch” that senior year. It seemed as though he never made a poor decision. He was also a leader, lead those teams and the guys rallied around him.

Michael Jordan is a 1st team All-American (Sports Illustrated), but he is not among the finalists for the Rimmington Award. Alabama’s Ross Pierschbacher, Notre Dame’s Sam Mustipher and NC State’s Garrett Bradbury are the three finalists for an award won last year by Ohio State’s Billy Price.

The OL line is getting the job done. Great blocking up front is making the running game most effective. Been a lot of Weber 1st half, J.K. getting to unleash things 2nd half?

What sound football minds knew on Dec. 2nd 1. Alabama 2. Clemson 3. Georgia 4. Ohio State . . . . . 5. Oklahoma with the worst defense in the history of P5 football (great offense, but terrible defense) . . . . . 6. Notre Dame

Well that was microcosm for the season
Ge the win but make it as freaking frustrating as possible
playcaling and clock management in the 4th quarter was absolutely abysmal
