Missing Jacobs, leading rebounder and 2nd leading scorer, exposes how weak Ontario's interior play is and how short Ontario's bench is. Stover had 22 of Lexington's 50. Coburn and Kurtz each had 13 for Ontario. Shaver only had 8. He looked like he was pressing as Lex switched on screens and doubled him a lot. JVs - Lex 41, Ont 26. Jacobs not playing had a trickle down affect. As a JV starter was held out so he could play in the varsity game. Freshmen - Ont 52, Lex 51. A couple of Freshman have made consider strides since the poor record the 8th grade team had last year. Hit this game since CF did not play and I will say Jacobs would not have been a factor in the outcome. He could not have affected Stover, which was clearly Lex's plan. Lex did a nice job defending Shaver holding him to 8 as he averages maybe close to 18. Coburn and Kurtz did score some late when the game was over but I give them credit. This was a 16-18 point game when Lex started to sub. I should have been more clear, for those it is needed. I said nothing about Ontario winning this game if Jacobs played. I said nothing about Jacobs "affecting Stover". There isn't a player in this area that can "affect" Stover. Jacobs would have made a difference on the boards as he has done all year against much taller players. He averages 8 per. Something the much less athletic inside Ontario players can't do. He should have gotten 10 points, as he has done all year against the taller players defending him. Without Jacobs there were always 2 much less athletic forwards on the floor the entire game. If you were truly at the game you would know that Lex substituted a lot the entire game. During the last 3 minutes of the game, Lex only had one player on the floor that isn't a starter, Nick Stehle. Ontario had their JV player on the floor then, not Jacobs. Substituting a lot is something Ontario can't do this year and it was worse without one of their 4 decent players. Ontario could only press the last half of the 4th quarter because of their short bench. Something Balogh likes to do most of the game when he has a good deep bench. Ontario was within 11 with around 5 minutes left in the game, they were never down by 18. Coburn only made one basket in the 4th quarter. Shaver averages around 15, as Ontario's 4 decent players average double figures. The other 3 that play are role players

Lexington was up 48-30 in the 4th. Ontario played 7 kids and Lexington played 8. Ontario only played players that are on their varsity roster. Some kids may get time in jv games but being on the varsity roster makes them a varsity player. According to you Jacobs averages 8 rebounds a game. Keller more than made up for that by having 12 as a starter in his place.

I Looked at the replay and Lex did have one short lived 18 point lead in the 4th quarter.
Of the 7 kids Ontario played, one is a JV player that had not played a meaningful minute in a varsity game all year. As a matter of fact he's only played in 2 varsity games this year about 1 minute each time.
Of the 14 kids on Ontario's Varsity roster, only 7 are truly varsity players. The other 7 are all JV players, part of the 9 player JV rotation. They just dress for Varsity games. They never play in varsity games, except for the end of blow outs and there has only been one of those. That is Ontario's biggest problem. There is a significant drop off in talent after 4 of the starters. One of those 4 didn't play in this game.
The kid that got 12 rebounds usually gets 6, so he didn't make up for Jacobs. He just had to play a lot more minutes than normal. He is one of their 3 role players. In the approx 8 minutes off the bench he usually plays, his role is to rebound, play defense, don't make turnovers or bad fouls. He did one thing well in the game, considering he's not a starter. Did he make up for the points Jacobs scores?

Hard to imagine Ontario running a varsity practice with only 7 guys but we do know that the kid with 12 rebounds has been a starter before this game so that was nothing new. Thank you for the detailed information in an attempt to make an excuse for the Ontario loss. I look forward to more excuses as the season move forward. See ya Thursday. I hope Ontario does not have to play any of their jv guys in that varsity game so that the trickle down affect doesn't happen again. Of course the Clear Fork jv team is not very good right now. But I'm not making any excuses for them.

Imagine this, the Varsity and JVs practice at the same time. You know the size of the O-rena, right? There are only 17 total Varsity and JV players, a low number for Ontario. There are 3 Freshman that dress for the JV game, but don't play. They practice with the Freshman team, that DOES practice at a different time.
I know that the kid with 12 rebounds has only started one game. I know that the kid with 12 rebounds has only played basketball for 2 years. Which should be evident to the trained eye.
Per an above post, I reiterate. I NEVER said, nor implied, that Ontario would have won if Jacobs played. Ontario lost because Lexington is a much better basketball team, not because Jacobs didn't play. I dare you to provide us with just one of my posts in which I make excuses for an Ontario loss. The detailed information provided was given only to correct your misinformation.
The only way a JV player plays in the varsity game against Clear Fork is if one of Ontario's 7 varsity players is injured, sick, being punished for breaking a team rule or there's serious foul trouble.
Being a TRUE fan of Clear Fork basketball, I must assume you will be there to also watch the entire JV contest. Watch it closely and you will prove to yourself that 7 of the players on Ontario's Varsity roster will only play in the JV game. This year the Ontario Varsity, JVs and Freshman, as you say. "are not very good"..... by Balogh standards. I've stated to friends, that if this year's Varsity finishes with an overall .500 record, it could be Balogh's best coaching job. IMO, this is one of the 5 weakest rosters he's had in 34 years.
AGAIN, just the facts, to countermand your lacking.

You're saying he started against Highland? Really?? I was getting a popcorn and missed it. It must not have lasted long. How many minutes did he play before he was taken out? How many total minutes did he play?
All we have to do is look at your above posts to see how little you know about the Lex game and Ontario basketball. Yet you persist.

But Keller has started more than the 1 game that someone claimed he did. I persist to check facts against the only one who claims to know all facts. I suppose I can stop since anyone who does this finds out he doesn't know all he thinks he does.

Good point, he did make a claim of knowing he only started one and you proved it to be untrue. You can stop now.

I suppose I can stop since anyone who does this finds out he doesn't know all he thinks he does. I only saw him start one game. I told you why. I never said you were incorrect when you said he started 2 instead of 1. However, once again, as you always do. You failed to answer my queries. I'll try AGAIN. How many minutes did he play in that other start, before he was taken out and how many minutes total did this phantom starter play in that game? You personally won't have to be concerned with how many starts in the future. He could be done for the year. It looks like a fractured vertebrae. A JV player will now become one of the 3 role players of the 7 who play.

I'll say less than 32 minutes total but I do not know how many before he was pulled but neither do you. The conflict was if he had started more than the one game.

I know I don't. As I said before, I was getting a popcorn. There is no conflict as far as I'm concerned. You said you saw him start, I believe you. I wasn't in the gym. That's why I thought he only started one game. More mountains made out of molehills.

Why are such a dunce? I've told you THREE times now that the reason I only saw him start once is because I was getting popcorn the other game. He was out of the game and Jacobs was in by the time I got in the gym. After you said you saw him start that game I believed you, I wasn't in the gym.
I DO know what I see. I've pointed out several pieces the misinformation purported by you about on this thread about the Lex game and you continue to show you know very little about Ontario basketball compared to MANY in Ontario.
I'm guessing you must have caused this kid to miss the rest of the season, due to your attitude. The warlock that you are.

I'm a Dolt? You are the one how said you KNEW he had only started one game. You did not saw he started at least one game. Your fact checked claim was that the player had ONLY started in one game this season and you KNEW that to be fact, but it was wrong. Just like Ontario was never down 18 but they were. Just like you knew Coburn had not scored more than 5 points in any Ontario loss, but he has. Have a super day. I'm sure I am forgetting some things so I'm going to go get a popcorn.

Only a dolt would say, "Once 'we' jumped up after one quarter 'we' played 'our' game." Clear Fork's "game" isn't to get off to a good start in the 1st quarter?
You said Keller getting 12 rebounds made up for Jacobs not playing. You know nothing about Ontario basketball.
You didn't know how many starters Lex had on the floor in the last 3 minutes.
You didn't know how many or how often Lex substituted compared to Ontario.
You do not know how many players on Ontario's varsity roster rarely if ever play in a varsity game.
You did not know that 7 players on Ontario's varsity roster only play in JV games.
You did not know know that Ontario's JV and varsity teams practice at the same time.
You said that Coburn "scored some late". He only made one basket in the entire 4th quarter
You made an assumption that I thought Jacobs would have "affected" Stover. That's ridiculous.
You mimicked what I had already said about Lexington's defense on Shaver.
You did not know how many points Shaver averaged or how many rebounds or points Jacobs averaged or how many points Keller averaged.
You FAILED to produce a post where I made excuses for an Ontario loss.

Your opinion, who cares. I know they lost the game in question that I saw. I do know who was on the floor. I saw the game but left me stopwatch at home. I don't care, not important. I don't care, not important. I do know that. 3 points in the 4th is scoring some lat. I never assumed anything, you assumed Jacobs would have made a difference. I confirmed Lex played good defense on Ontario's best player. But yet I still know who started the games for Ontario. I don't need to, everyone knows you do it.
Have a super day. Did you enjoy the Clear Fork game or were you getting popcorn during that time also?
