Wants to transfer from Georgia and Ohio State is at the top of his list. Haskins and Fields are friends. They both worked out with QB whisperer Quincy Avery.
In the 2018 class 247Sports had Fields as the #2 player in the country and the #8 player ALL TIME in their rankings. He's 6-3 225 and runs a 4.51 40. He was considered a dual threat QB coming out of high school, but wants to transition to a pocket passer.
Avery said, "If my son was a QB I'd 100% want him to play for Ryan Day."

A lot will depend on if he has to sit out a year or not. Also no guarantee he beats out Tate or even Matt Baldwin whom Day personally recruited. He would be a good get tho. And he would make an already interesting QB battle (assuming Haskins leaves) even more interesting.

Haskins is leaving subtle hints of returning to QB the Buckeyes. If that becomes the case, sitting a year will fit in the scheme of things for the Buckeyes and they will have there next great QB of the future. I understand that Fields has a respected attorney working his case for immediate eligibility. A rangy QB standing 6-4, with wheels and a great arm is just what the doctor ordered for the Buckeyes. At any rate, a nice situation for the Bucks.

Haskins is NOT coming back. At this point, it's simply your opinion Let's all hope you are wrong and my notion is correct.

In, what may end up a QB for QB swap, Dwan Mathis has flipped to Georgia. Fields is 6'3" 5*star dual threat QB and Mathis is 6'6" 4*star pro style so it's not an even flip as I see it if they one goes to Ohio State and the other to Georgia. I'll take that flip any day of the week, especially with Fields already having a year of college practice under his belt. I will say that Mathis has already flipped once before so this kid is showing he does not have firm decision making skills which could indicate he would be difficult to keep happy.

Georgia will be Mathis’ 4th school, he was originally committed to Iowa State before Michigan State.

Georgia's official 2018 team roster lists him 6-3 225, so we go with that. I'll agree on Ohio State getting the better end of the deal, if things pan out like they seem. Did you take a look at the skinny, bean pole physique of Mathis? On the other hand, Fields is put together, a frame fit for the rigors of Big Ten football.

I'm going to guess, if Field's petition for immediate eligibility is granted, Martell will be looking elsewhere as well. Perhaps not right away, but Martell will not sit on the bench for another season, can't see that happening.

In, what may end up a QB for QB swap, Dwan Mathis has flipped to Georgia. Haskins and Fields are good friends, talk all the time. If Haskins is coming back, do you seriously think Ohio State would be Fields top choice? His number one priority is to go some where he can compete for the starting job next year. Obviously he couldn't compete against Haskins. He's already wasted his first year at Georgia playing behind Fromm.

I'll say this, it's refreshing to see a kid like Haskins who obviously is very talented and certain to be a multi millionare when he goes pro,,,be such a leader in bowl practice,,, and pretty gracious about getting shunned from any post season awards. Would have been easy to sit the bowl game like others have done before and are doing again. The real shame of it all is us OSU fans won't get to see if he had the stuff to beat Alabama with his arm. Flipping Purdue and those dang night road games.

Sounding like Oklahoma State’s OC, Mike Yurcich, could be named Ohio state’s next OC. There were rumors of it last week and those have ramped up now since he announced he’d be leaving Oklahoma state after their bowl game.

Justin Fields is on campus today. Looks like it’s a done deal for him transferring to Ohio state, now just have to wait and see if he’s eligible to play next season.

According to 247Sports all-time recruit rankings, which goes back to 2000. Fields is the highest ranked player ever to go to Ohio State.

and just for the record i think there's a good chance when all is said and done that Matt Baldwin is the starter next year A bit premature to make such a prediction IMO. It wouldn't surprise me, however. Everything points to the likelihood of Fields, with his vast talents, emerging from the competition. Baldwin and Tate both enjoy an early advantage of knowing and understanding the system, but with a new QB coach and OC, that advantage disappears and they will all be on equal footing.

not a prediction just throwing it out there, i don't know enough about Fields to make any prediction
i do know that if he was as good as advertised he should have been able to beat out Jake Frohm...but that could be chalked up to Kirby Smart being more Urban than Dabo
